In our world, more than two billion people are living under insecure food conditions and more than eight hundred million people are estimated to be starving. The majority of these people live in developing counties which are poor and often subject of civil war. The past fifty years the main subject of security analysis has been the sovereign and rational state and the threats have been viewed in terms of military and weapons of mass destruction. This has come to change over the last decades and security as a concept has broadened, which better represents the reality of today. Within this broader conceptualization of security the main referent of security is the individual, rather than the state, and threats are not only analyzed from a military point of view, but also seen as threats against human rights and freedoms.

Parenting and parental leave in a career context is a highly topical subject in which discussions about gender equality and corporate discrimination against parents occur daily. Media has recently raised the theory of parenting and parental leave as having positive impacts on personal development, such as creativity enhancement, which may promote the individual's work performance. Despite the subject's significant value for society and organizations, no scientific research is to be found. This paper examines how an individual's creativity at work is affected when becoming a parent and if parental leave has any contributory effect. Furthermore, the paper identifies and scrutinizes four creativity theories that may help explain these changes in creativity.

This essay concerns dance as an exhibition object by examining the permanent exhibition at The Museum of Dance in Stockholm, Dansmuseet. Due to its dependence on the temporality and movement of the lived body, dance does not easily lend itself to being exhibited in a traditional exhibition display; and since the live dance performance itself is ostensibly absent at the exhibition display, other means of representation must be relied upon in order to evoke the exhibition visitors? experiences of time and movement as well as the feeling of dance. Starting from a phenomenological first-person perspective, as an exhibition visitor, I present three ways in which such experiences may come about. The cross-section of the experience evoked and the means that trigger them are intermedial, spatial, and performative taking their departure in the visitor?s pre-understanding of dance..

The thesis main objective is to establish the determinants for granting executive stock options and to examine their impact on performance for firms listed on OMXS30. The analysis is based on accounting data gathered from annual reports and Thomson Datastream. The empirical results display that firms grant stock options to mitigate the principal-agent problem. Furthermore, risk proves to be positively significant with executive stock options, implying that either executives increase the level of risk after being granted stock options or influence the decision of the remuneration towards stock options when the firm increase the level of risk, in purpose to boost the expected value of their options. Den svenska marinen har av professor Geoffrey Till använts som ett utmärkande exempel på en s.k. post-modern marin i hans kategorisering av världens sjömakter. Främst är det den expeditionära förmåga som Sverige profilerat alltsedan det kalla krigets slut som ligger till grund för denna exemplifiering.Frågan uppstår då huruvida den svenska marinen fortfarande kan ses vara det utmärkande exemplet efter det att fokus nu skiftat tillbaka till en mer nationellt präglad försvarsinriktning. Därutöver ställs frågan om vilka styrkor och svagheter en dylik kategorisering av världens sjömakter kan ha.Utifrån en analys av Tills kategoriseringar som idealtyper, så har dessa i allt väsentligt visat sig vara de förenklande och täckande rubriceringar som idealtypsmodellen syftar till. Därför har det även gått att identifiera tre indikatorer som medger en jämförelse mot den svenska marinen av idag för att utröna dess nuvarande status som post-modern sjömakt.Undersökningen har på så sätt lett till slutsatsen att den svenska marinen alltjämt kan kategoriseras som en post-modern marin, men av andra anledningar än den expeditionära förmågan.

Hysterektomi är idag en av de vanligaste operationerna som utförs på kvinnor, näst efter sectio både i Sverige som utomlands. Detta gör att kvinnors psykiska hälsa post hysterektomi är något som sjukvården bör ha kunskap om. Att genomföra en hysterektomi innebär att avlägsna uterus och de vanligaste anledningarna till att en hysterektomi genomförs är menorragi och kronisk smärta i pelvis.I huvudsak genomgår kvinnor en hysterektomi för att förbättra sin livskvalitet, det finns även andra anledningar till att genomföra en hysterektomi som cancer i uterus. Syftet med litteraturstudien var att undersöka om kvinnors upplevda psykiska hälsa förändras post hysterektomi. Studien är genomförd som en litteraturstudie där 13 vetenskapliga artiklar granskades.Resultatet visade att den upplevda livskvaliteten och hälsan ökade postoperativt.

When the United Nations Security Council puts an embargo against a country, this often mean an import and export restriction. The thought is to push undemocratic regimes into respecting human rights. When the embargo is in force, however, the parties are not able to fulfill their contractual obligations, which practically means that the agreement will be suspended. The problem is what happens when an embargo is in force for a longer period of time.

The purpose of this study was to examine the routines of performance related pay systems in two Swedish municipal upper secondary schools. A second purpose was to examine what data was included for evaluation of a co-worker?s performance and how a principal collects data. The purpose was also to examine a principal and teachers´ view of performance related pay systems and if it was possible to note an agreement. Principals have been interviewed and teachers have answered a questionnaire to fulfil the purposes of this study.The study shows that the municipality had a good routine that included individual discussions with co-workers about their salary and had fixed municipal criteria.

The IP address is either a period separated sequence of digits representing 32 bits or a colon separated sequence of digits representing 128 bits, depending on whether the address is an IPv4 or IPv6 address.

This study is about how students 'performance in school is influenced by parents' educational background. The study has been performed by cooperation with two schools in Stockholm. One class in each school has participated and the students have amongst other questions answered regarding their grades in natural science subjects. To examine whether parents 'educational background affect students' performance, a quantitative survey in the form of poll has been conducted. Even a literature review was conducted in this area to get a clearer picture of how parents' educational background affects the performance of students.This study shows that students who have academic parents perform better than students who have not got academically educated parents.

Sleep has a substantial effect on health status where good sleeping habits proves positive on learning. The aim of the present study was to map the views and perceptions of sleep and its effects on health and school performance on 12-year olds. The goal is to visualize these views to give teachers the possibility to better plan the education in concordance with the students? abilities. The study is based on qualitative semi-structured interviews where 12 students aged 12 have partaken.

Background: The world of sports possesses a lot of knowledge when it comes to leadarship and coaching. Coaching as a term is relatively new to the business industry and something that is up and coming among alot of companies. Leadership and coaching are two terms that can be combined with each other both in sports and in the business industry.Objectives: This study aims to compare leadership in sports and in the business industry. The purpose is to see if they can learn from each other and how they define the term leadership.Method: Interviews were chosen as a method in this study. Six individual interviews were performed and there were three leaders from the business industry and three leaders from the world of sport participating in the study.
