Pneumonia is a common disease in calves. There are several causes behind the disease. The main purpose of this litterary study was to estimate what kind of nursing calves with pneumonia could benefit from, especially the evidence-based nursing recommendations for the sick calves. A further purpose was to gain knowledge of different treatments of sick calves and what kind of practical measurements that are most suitable to use in the preventive work. The results in this study shows that there are only suggestions of nursing, rather than some actual evidence-based actions. The most important nursing actions is to isolate the calves with dyspnea, prevent or treatment of hypothermia, Potential dehydration and malnutrition. It is also important to make sure to place the calf on soft and dry bedding.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine how Swedish highereducation librarians mediate discovery tools to its users. Thisstudy aims to investigate higher education librarians? generalattitudes towards discovery tools, their perception ofstudents? discovery tool usage, and how they mediatediscovery tools to students through reference interviews anduser training. The empirical ground of this study is a semistructuredsurvey that was answered by 115 instructinglibrarians. The study concludes that although librariansgenerally have a critical attitude towards discovery tools theyalso think that the discovery tools serve a useful purpose,especially as a starting point in the information searchprocess.

Det finns en innovativ, grön grundläggningsteknik kallad energigrundläggning. Tekniken har funnits sedan tidigt 80-tal men har knappt används i Norden. Tekniken visar på stor Potential då man kan uppnå synergi genom utvinning av värme under vinterhalvåret och kyla under sommarhalvåret.I detta arbete redogörs för grundläggande principer och mekanismer bakom energigrundläggning samt en omfattande litteraturstudie av vad som tidigare har studerats inom området. Det finns få exempel i litteraturen på problematiken med förändrade geotekniska egenskaper hos jorden på grund av energiutvinningen och än färre exempel på knäckningsproblematiken hos slagna, slanka stålrörspålar.

Nine articles were included. After having analyzed the results six categories were found.Result: The family members experienced the disease as fluctuating and stressful. Some felt ashamed for their sick family member and withdrew from the rest of the society.

Wireless sensor networks have the Potential for becoming a huge market. Ericsson predicts 50 billion devices interconnected to the Internet by the year 2020. Before that, the devices must be made to be able to withstand years of usage without having to change power source as that would be too costly. These devices are typically small, inexpensive and severally resource constrained. Communication is mainly wireless, and the wireless transceiver on the node is typically the most power hungry component.

In a comparing survey this thesis investigatesclassification systems for dams in Sweden, Norway,Finland, Switzerland, Canada and USA. Theinvestigation is aiming at an understanding of howPotential consequences of a dam failure are takeninto account when classifying dams. Furthermore,the significance of the classification, regarding therequirements on the dam owner and surveillanceauthorities concerning dam safety is considered andreviewed. The thesis is pointing out similarities anddifferences in the line of dam safety.The survey of dam safety is firstly based upon legalrequirements in the different countries andsecondly on guidelines regarding dam safety. Damowners generally are ultimately responsible for thesafety of their dam, and often have their ownroutines regarding how this safety is to be achieved.In this thesis, however, the legal requirements aremainly focused upon.The investigation has resulted in an outlining ofeight areas, where the classification systems in thevarious countries have been compared.

Syftet med vårt arbete var att studera vilka övningar och arbetsmetoder en amerikansk skola använder för att förbättra elevers muntliga framställning. Den empiriska delen av vår undersökning genomfördes i en amerikansk skola med 20 elever i åldrarna 12-13. Observationerna genomfördes i ämnena performance, council samt speech. Studien var av kvalitativ karaktär och genomfördes med ostrukturerade observationer. Vi kände snabbt stor skillnad mellan de svenska skolor vi besökt tidigare under vår utbildning och den amerikanska skolan beträffande elevernas vilja att tala.

Encephalitozoon cuniculi är en obligat intracellulär parasit som orsakar sjukdomen encephalitozoonos hos kaniner. Infektion kan även ses hos människor och parasiten är därmed zoonotisk. E.cuniculi-infektion sker via intag eller inhalation av sporer, överföring in utero eller okulär överföring. Predilektionsställen för parasiten är centrala nervsystemet, njurar eller linsen. E.cuniculi är en vanlig parasit hos kaniner men den exakta förekomsten i Sverige är okänd. Att diagnostisera E.cuniculi-infektion hos kaniner är viktigt för korrekt prognos och behandling samt på grund av parasitens zoonotiska Potential.

SAMMANDRAGDenna rapport är en del i ett examensarbete på byggingenjörsutbildningen vid Chalmers Tekniska Högskola. Som komplement till rapporten finns ritningar på idéförslag samt ett program som beskriver byggnadens nutida utformning samt kraven på en ombyggnad.I denna rapport utreder vi möjligheterna att bygga om den befintliga järnvägsstationen i Mellerud till ett modernt resecentrum, på uppdrag av Melleruds kommun. Rapporten behandlar flera olika grundläggande lösningarav utformningen. Med dessa som utgångspunkt utformas sedan de olika delarna i den bästa av de grundläggande lösningarna. Målet med rapporten är att utforma ett resecentrum som tillgodoser resenärernas behov.

The purpose of this study is to examine how immigrants are portrayed in the Swedish daily newspapers online reporting. The essay investigates in what context immigrants, as individuals, are made visible and how they and their origins are reproduced. The study focuses on the roles victim and aggressor, and is also investigating Potential differences between morning and evening newspapers.Present theories are discursive discrimination, critical discourse analysis, cultural racism, stereotypes and structural discrimination. Adopted methods are qualitative and quantitative content analysis, based on the Global Media Monitoring Project-tool.The results show that immigrants are not individually stereotyped or depicted negatively, but that their immigrant origins often have a central part of the story, that they are mentioned mainly in connection with negative news and that negatively charged words occur frequently. .

This is a thesis in Personal- och Arbetslivsprogrammet at Dalarna University with thepurpose of evaluating an education initiative in Borlänge kommun. The educationCoaching Leadership is an initiative for the managers in the organization to exercisegood leadership and the education also serves as an incentive for managers. Eightbusiness managers and one from the HR staff have completed the training. Out of thetotal 9 participants in the training, six of them took part in this evaluation. Based on thethesis aim and questions we wanted to explore participants' attitudes to the education,and what skills and abilities they have acquired on the basis of educational goals andcontent.

Coaching är en samtalsmetodik med syftet att frigöra och utveckla människors Potential. Cirka 50 stycken rådgivare vid Trygghetsrådet har under 2006 gått en coachingutbildning vid Stockholms universitet. I föreliggande studie intervjuades sju rådgivare om deras upplevelser av coaching som metod i mötet med klienterna. De semistrukturerade, kvalitativa intervjuerna analyserades utifrån en tematisk analysmetod som grund. Man är överlag mycket positiv till coaching som metod, såväl som rådgivare som i den feedback man får från sina klienter.
