The northern province of Sweden has in both literature and film been depictured as something foreign and mythical, unlike the rest of the country. It has been my purpose to show in this essay that the systematic categorization of Norrland and its literature reveals multiple criteria known to define the colonial era. By reading the novel Stallo by author Stefan Spjut with postcolonial structures in mind I aim to show how the author uses Swedish mythology and through the presence of The Other criticizes colonial structures in place to this day. By examining the gothic atmosphere I intend to indicate how the trolls in the novel figures as both a horror element as well as a representation of nature itself. It is my belief that the author by further reinforcing the mythological in relation to Norrland addresses the problem at hand.

I have in this essay focused on the attitude towards the medieval muslims in swedish textbooks, in the subject of history from the years between 1954 and 2012. I have made an analysis on the discourse in the books and what they says about the muslims who lived before 1500 AD. The theory I have is a Postcolonial one from the authors Edward Said, Ania Loomba and Leela Gandhi. I have also analyzed the rhetorics the authors have used in every textbook. The results I have identified is that the attitude towards the muslims have changed during the years, from a generalizing view that says that the muslims were driven by the religion and that they were different from the Christian European society that existed during the same time.

Bakgrund och problem:Belöningssystem alltid varit ett styrverktyg där ledning med dess hjälp försökt att bidra till att medarbetare blir motiverade till att öka sin produktivitet och på så sätt bidra till organisationens lönsamhet. Men att försöka förstå de icke-ekonomiska effekterna av olika belöningssystem har bidragit till att försöka skapa en ökad förståelse för organisatorisk rättvisa. Vad gäller monetära ersättningar i ett belöningssystem så är det viktigt att förstå att rättvisefrågor utgör en viktig del av de olika anställningsförhållandena i organisationen. Utan denna förståelse kan det uppstå ogynnsamma situationer. Detta har lett oss till uppsatsens problemformulering: Vad har upplevd rättvisa för påverkan på attityder kring monetära ersättningar i ett belöningssystem?? Vad kan monetära ersättningar få för upplevda beteendemässiga konsekvenser?Syfte:Rapportens huvudsakliga syfte är att beskriva och förklara attityder kring monetära ersättningar i ett belöningssystem.

The purpose of this Master?s thesis is to investigate the descriptions of characters and settings in four autobiographies. The main question is: What picture of women and men, of the West and the Orient do these books provide? To answer this question we have formed three sub questions, which are: In what ways are main and minor characters described? In what ways are the key settings, and the Western and Oriental societies described? Which themes are dealt with, and from what points of departure? The theoretical framework is based on a postcolonial theoretical perspective, where the concept of binary opposites and Edward W. Said?s ideas about orientalism are crucial.

The purpose of this essay is to examine the United Nation?s work and structure to find possible factors that can explain why some peacekeeping operations have achieved to mainstream a gender perspective, when others have not. This study is based on two cases; the peacekeeping operation in Namibia and the peacekeeping operation in Kosovo.The theory I have chosen to apply is feminism, a theory that allows an alternative explanation to this phenomenon. The conclusion is that there are three decisive factors: The leadership and its will to recruit female personnel to decision-making positions, the number of female employees and whether the peacekeeping operation cooperates with local women-organisations or not. By analysing Still the water (2014), Radiance (2017) and True Mothers (2020) by Naomi Kawase this essay will look at her work to see how she portrays the experience of being a woman in relation to her community. Looking into her way of using the camera by applying the theory of haptic visuality allows the spectator to identify themselves in a bodily relationship with the image. By using the camera to closely frame objects of importance for the characters, Kawase leads the spectator to understand the world of the film and enables a more profound understanding of their experience. For the community to be of importance for the women it must be founded in the feeling of security and a confirmation of their feelings. The intention is to focus on the implementation of the tablet in preschools and how the intentions around the introduction of the tablet take shape in different preschools. The method is semi structured interviews where the respondents consist of 3 preschool directors and 6 teachers where the preschool directors work. This is a relevant subject to illustrate, as the tablet has become a tool in preschool where it seems to be different opinions about how it should be used. This study aims to understand how the implementation can take form in different preschools, what kind of similarities and differences we can see with the intentions of the tablet and if there is need of clarification on the workings of the tablets in preschools. The results show that the intentions around the introduction of the tablet in preschool look different in the preschools, and the implementation of this new technology starts in a small scale with help of photographing and videotaping.

Kvotering i olika former har blivit en trend inom forskning såväl som effektiv metod för att snabbt öka den kvinnliga representationen, och är något som diskuterats flitigt i svensk media under år 2013. Syftet för denna kandidatuppsats är att utifrån teorier om feminism, genus och makt analysera kvoteringsdiskursen i Sverige. Genom en kvalitativ textanalys undersöks de motstridigheter som finns i mediedebatten kring kvotering och om det finns stöd för lagstiftning eller inte. Resultaten visar att kvotering fortfarande är en omstridd fråga i Sverige eftersom att debatten är stagnerad, de ideologiska grunderna och jämställdhetsperspektiven skiljer sig åt. En ytterligare bidragande faktor är den reproduktion av genusordningen som både motståndare och förespråkare bidrar till.

The focus of this thesis is on social workers? knowledge in assessing and making decisions in child welfare cases. The primary aim is to identify what skills or knowledge social workers find most useful within child welfare agencies in Swedish municipalities. Six different types of knowledge, social policy and the approach of child welfare cases are perspectives considered in the analysis. The interviews with social workers were held in three agencies in southern Sweden, in 2014.

Studiens syfte är att undersöka bilden av invandrare i Sydsvenskans lokala nyheter. Detta görs utifrån ett postkolonialt perspektiv med användning av diskursanalys. Uppsatsens har också ett konstruktivt inslag bestående av en granskning av tidningens mångfaldsarbete genom intervjuer med ansvariga. Invandrare blir de Andra vilket tar sig uttryck i Sydsvenskan genom att de skildras som annorlunda från den svenska normen. De beskrivs som icke-jämställda, passiva och uppgivna och figurerar ofta som offer och i artiklar som handlar om problem.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur nationella föreställningar producerats och reproducerats inom den svenska scoutrörelsen.Jag har funnit scoutrörelsen intressant att studera därför att den å ena sidan uppstod i en nationalistisk kontext och å andra sidan utgjorde en internationell organisation med internationalistiska strävanden.Denna uppsats utgår från att föreställningar om nationen konstrueras i förhållande till något annat, att Sverige och "svenskhet" formuleras med utgångspunkt i föreställningar om begreppens motsatser. "Vi" uppstår i relation till "de andra". I denna uppsats analyserar jag koloniala föreställningars närvaro i scoutmaterialet och använder dessa för att på så sätt dyrka upp föreställningarna om nationen och om "oss". Detta görs utifrån en diskursanalytisk utgångspunkt med inspiration från postkolonial teori som erbjuder en teoretisk ansats till förklaring av den interaktion i föreställningarna mellan "vi" och "de andra"..

Prostitution har varit ett ständigt aktuellt ämne sedan sexköpslagen kom 1999. Vi har velat undersöka vad diskursen fri vilja inom prostitutionsdebatten innebär. Vi har valt ut teman för att kunna analysera hur diskursen fri vilja framkommer i debatten. Vårt syfte är att undersöka vad som inryms i diskursen fri vilja och vilka feministiska ståndpunkter som ger diskursen dess olika innebörder. Vi har genomfört en diskursanalys på tre böcker, utvalda för att representera de olika poler vi anser oss se i debatten.

Uppsatsen behandlar det relativt nya begreppet dokusåpa, med inriktning på kanal 5:s program Big Brother. Bakgrunden till ämnesvalet är att media gärna framställer Big Brother som något dåligt, som ungdomar kan ta efter. Det huvudsakliga syftet med studien är att få en insikt i hur 15-åringar hanterar Big Brother i vardagen. För att angripa ämnet ur ett sociologiskt perspektiv har vi bland annat använt oss av kommunikations-, postmodern och feministisk teori. Uppsatsen bygger på sjutton intervjuer som ger oss en inblick i just de intervjuades relation till Big Brother.
