The research of this Masters thesis examines if during a specific period of time, Environmental scanning connected to Swedish public libraries is discussed in journals that are directly connected to the field of Swedish libraries. The method employed was content analysis of articles, news items and ads with the intention of finding out the extent of Environmental scanning and who carries it out and how and what is scanned. The research covers the period from 2004-01-01 to 2004-08-31. During the research period 1387 articles, news items and ads were analyzed. The study focuses on 81 selected published units that directly include references or discussion about Environmental scanning.

This paper is a discourse analytic policy study with the intention to investigate the swedish government's policy action plan against prostitution and trafficking for sexual purposes. The document is called Handlingsplan mot prostitution och människohandel för sexuella ändamål. The purpose of the study is to investigate whether there is a feminist gender understanding taking place in the action plan. This is made by both see how the problem of prostitution is produced partly by examining whether there is a gender-based power analysis in action. The research questions of this study are:What is considered being the problem with prostitution and trafficking fosexual purposes?Is there a feminist gender understandning in the government's prostitution politics?To answer these questions I use Carol Bacchis method Whats the problem represented to be? Syftet med arbetet är att ta reda på hur väl privatpersoner informeras om hur de ska skydda sina trådlösa nätverk och varför. Genom arbetet ska följande frågor besvaras:- Vid beställning av bredband inklusive trådlös router från en bredbandsleverantör: informerar leverantören sina kunder om att det trådlösa nätverket bör säkras upp och varför?- Blir man informerad om säkerheten när man köper en trådlös router i en lokal affär?- Skyddar invånare i Kalmar generellt sett sina trådlösa nätverk?Genom användning av kvantitativa metoder i form av observationer har vi svarat på två av frågeställningarna. En kvalitativ metod användes genom att vi skickade enkäter via e-post till fem bredbandsleverantörer.Resultaten från vår undersökning visar att majoriteten av invånarna i Kalmar skyddar sina nätverk, men att det är vanligast med en svag kryptering. Undersökningen visar att informationen från lokala affärer och bredbandsleverantörer är bristfällig..

After the fall of communism in Yugoslavia the ethnic resentment grew stronger and escalated in to interethnic civil conflict in 1992. After international intervention the General Framework Agreement for Peace (GFAP) installed peace in 1995. The treaty's aim was not only to establish peace but also to institute democracy in Bosnia. The OSCE were given the task to implement democracy within political institutions and civil society. This in a country with a lack of democratic experience and where great problems with ethnic antagonism still exists.By using democratization and transition theory this single case-study examines how democracy is implemented in Bosnia by the OSCE and clarifies difficulties that this democratization process is facing.

The aim of this study is to investigate how 20 children discusses norm breaking based on a children?s book with a focus on following questions:How do the children discuss norms based on the children?s book?Are there differences in opinions and comments between children with Swedish as their first language and children with Swedish as a second language, and if so, which ones?The investigation is based on four discussions of children?s literature, which are a method Chambers (2004) means enable the children to put their thoughts and feelings about the book into words.The theoretical frame of the study is founded on post-structuralism feminism and particularly Butler (Ambjörnsson, 2010) and Davies (2003) theories about gender and gender roles.The investigation shows, among other things, that the children are basing their discussions on the norms accepted by the society. But it also shows that there are differences in the way that the children with Swedish as a first language and Swedish as a second language discusses norm breaking. .

Folkhälsoinstitutet (2010) rekommenderar minst en halvtimmes fysisk aktivitet per dag. Denna rekommendation kan vara enklare att nå upp till när människor hittar en träningsform som är rolig och motiverande. Gruppträningspass med instruktör har visat sig fungera motiverande (Olsson & Stalsky, 2010). Därför syftar denna studie till att undersöka hur instruktörer upplever att motionärerna blir motiverade av deras metoder till att motivera dem.

In the year of 2006 I moved to South Africa for a year, a land that has fascinated me because of its history. During the time of my stay I became very surprised how strongly apartheid permeates the community where the white South Africans today are building walls around themselves. Through media we get surrounded with pictures that media creates and to find information regarding what?s happening in the world this is, most often, the primary source. Therefore I believe it?s interesting to explore how two different local newspapers from the county of Kalmar, with two different ideologies, present pictures of the same event, namely the revolt of Soweto in 1976 and how these two newspapers relates to racial policies.

The question of direct citizen participation in politics and administration is a contestable one. Its proponents claim that it has positive consequences even for the more "traditional", representative democracy, since participation leads to an increased political knowledge and increased political interest, and thus creates a revitalised democracy. Critical voices have however been raised to the validity of this claim. Critics have also pointed out direct participation as problematic, because it leads to problems of political inequality: a difference of political influence between ? on the one hand, the citizens participating directly and those that restrict their political participation to voting, and ? on the one the other hand ? between the institutions, for example schools, that employ, and don?t employ this method of direct citizen influence.In this essay, these two points of criticisms are tested in the context of user-boards in elementary and secondary schools.

The portrayals of women in lifestyle magazines has been a continuous subject in genderresearch, but have mainly been focused on research about heterosexual women. However, how women are being portrayed through editorial content in an LGBT magazines have shown to be a gap in gender research.The purpose of this study was to find out how female identities were portrayed in theeditorial content in the LGBT magazine QX ? Sweden?s largest magazine aimed atmembers of the LGBT community in Sweden.The analysis of the material was conducted through a semiotic and a narrative analysis. Patterns and reoccurring themes were selected, and furthermore were analysed againstfeminist theories and views such as queer theory, radical feminism and post-modernfeminism.Four different gender archetypes derived from the result of the study: The strongfemale, The passive female, The stereotypical female, and The intimate female. Thestudy did show that women featured in QX magazine were portrayed throughheteronormative patterns, although the magazine represents a larger alternative group..

?The myth of Palme- a textual analysis of the documentary Palme and its description of the social memory of Olof Palme as a norm or anomaly? by Emma Svanström aims to analyze how the directors of the documentary Palme choose to present Olof Palme to the future generations. Also the goal is to find out if their version presents Palme as a person who followed the norms or was divergent.To this purpose the thesis use textual analysis combined with a quantitative method in search of which persons the directors give the right to form the myth of Palme and which keywords they use to do describe him. To view the film as a social memory in the transformation to a myth the thesis use Jan Assmans theory of social memory and to find out if the documentary describes Palme as following the norms or divergent it uses Mary Douglas theory of anomaly.The results show that it is mainly the narrator and Olof Palme that gets to form the myth of him but also his family, friends, fellow employees and other persons that met him or was affected by his actions. Palme is discribed as special, intelligent, interested in social politics and able to act as he saw fit even if it was against the norms.

This essay explores the intertextual qualities in and between Kristian Lundberg?s works Yarden, Mörkret skulle vara som ljuset and Och allt skall vara kärlek. Read as a trilogy, it bears a thematic resemblance to Dante Alighieri?s Divine Comedy; an autofictional depiction of emancipation from alienation by grace. To reach this conclusion, I use Julia Kristeva?s theory of intertextuality and Roland Barthes? post-structuralist differention of Work and Text together with his notion of the Paper-Author.

Syftet med denna rapport är tvådelat. För det första görs ett försök att på ett djupare plan studera stödet för användandet av problembaserat lärande som metod inom den gymnasiala historieundervisningen. Det föreligger en stor likhet mellan den problembaserade arbetsmodellen och den metod som historiker i allmänhet använder sig av. Det går också att finna stöd för metoden ur ett samhällsperspektiv. Den snabbt växande, och skiftande kunskapsmassan kräver ett problematiserande, och kritiskt förhållningssätt.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att genom en fallstudie titta på TV4 Sveriges säljprocess av deras annonspaket Sumo, genom en modell bearbetad utifrån Roger Bests (2005) andelsutvecklingsträd (eng. Share Development Tree) samt marknadsföringssmixen (eng. Marketing Mix)utifrån Kotler et al. (2002).Metod: Metoden som har använts i denna uppsats är kvalitativ, då syftet var att göra en fallstudie av ett företag. Encephalitozoon cuniculi är en obligat intracellulär parasit som orsakar sjukdomen encephalitozoonos hos kaniner. Infektion kan även ses hos människor och parasiten är därmed zoonotisk. E.cuniculi-infektion sker via intag eller inhalation av sporer, överföring in utero eller okulär överföring. Predilektionsställen för parasiten är centrala nervsystemet, njurar eller linsen. E.cuniculi är en vanlig parasit hos kaniner men den exakta förekomsten i Sverige är okänd. Att diagnostisera E.cuniculi-infektion hos kaniner är viktigt för korrekt prognos och behandling samt på grund av parasitens zoonotiska potential.

This study compare if there is any differences between Fairtrade certified and uncertified coffee producers in Aceh Tengah, Indonesia. The aim was to compare the way the two groups of farmers produces their coffee and see if there were any differences between them, income, post harvest, production etc. During a visit in the district of Aceh Tengah, producers from both groups were given a questionnaire with questions about their farm and their production. The results of the questionnaires showed that the certified producers felt they had benefits being a part of a certified cooperative. Even with the experienced benefits the certified cooperatives gave the connected producers, like agronomy consultation and workshops the uncertified producers had a higher income from the coffee per hectare. This study also indicated that introduction and presence of Fairtrade and the connection to the world market Fairtrade brings with it, has gained the entire area, for example with more stabile coffee prices..
