Combustion of fossil fuels is today the dominating source of energy. During combustion,carbon dioxide is formed. The carbon dioxide accumulates in the atmosphere,which raises the global average temperature on earth through the so called greenhouseeffect. The only way to reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide from combustionin a coal fired power plant is through carbon capture and storage (CCS).Post-combustion capture is a technology to separate carbon dioxide from the uegas after the combustion for efficient transport and storage. The steady state operationof coal fired power plants with post combustion capture has already beenthoroughly investigated on a pilot scale, however much work remains to investigatethe plants dynamic operation.
Traumatiserade flyktingar i socialt arbete
According to the Swedish Red Cross, there are over 40 million people fleeing from war and conflict around the world. Some of these individuals are suffering from a disorder named PTSD (Post Traumatic Disorder Syndrome). This disorder is caused by previous experience incurred by war, conflict and violence. My intention with this study has been to increase the knowledge about refugees in Sweden suffering from PTSD syndrome. I have performed a study based on a project named Exigo.

Adequate postoperative pain treatment is important for the mother to be able to breastfeed, take care of the infant and experience a positive birth. Background: Traditionally defined boundaries and borders between organizations are at present being re-evaluated because of new and tougher demands. Today we can see a trend where these boundaries are being lowered or even eliminated when organizations choose to co-operate instead of compete. Purpose: In order to create an understanding for the partner selection process in the newly founded joint ventures between the companies which are building the Swedish 3G Network, the determining factors are being studied. Delimitation: The studies companies are co-operating as network operators but are at the same time competing as mobile operators. This relationship is in the literature described as co-opetition, which will not be investigated in this paper.
Inkompatibla elektroniska meddelanden: Mottagande och ansvarsfördelning
Denna uppsats behandlar problematiken som uppstår när ett avtal skickas i via elektronisk post som blir oläsligt för mottagaren på grund av inkompatibilitet. Om ett meddelande är inkompatibelt, när ska det ha ansetts kommit fram till motparten? Uppsatsen börjar med att problematisera faktumet att avtalslagen är skriven med pappersbaserade dokument som utgångspunkt och att det därför finns en möjlighet att de lösningar som gäller för brev (t.ex. reglerna om förklaringsmisstag) inte är lika lämpliga vad gäller elektroniska meddelanden. På ytan torde det inte vara några problem, eftersom både en IT-utredning (SOU 1996:40) och den svenska doktrinen inom området mestadels tyder på att de skillnader som kan uppstå inte gör en särskild lagstiftning nödvändig.Efter analys av vad inkompatibilitet innebär framkommer det dock att det är ett fenomen som inte kan jämföras blint med liknande situationer där pappersbrev används.
Från piska till morot? : En studie av den svenska Försvarsmaktens övergång från plikt till frivillighet
Denna studie handlar om hur en organisationsförändring kan påverka individens situation. Vi har studerat Försvarsmakten och dess förändring från ett värnpliktsförsvar till ett yrkesförsvar med anställda soldater och sjömän. Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka om organisationsförändringen har inneburit några förändringar för individen rörande motivation, lärande och organisationskultur. Vi vill inte generalisera vårt resultat till hela Försvarsmakten eller göra en jämförelse mellan Försvarsmaktens olika vapenslag, utan vi har istället valt att studera individer på en lägre nivå inom Flottan. Vi har använt oss av motivation, lärande och organisationskultur som ett teoretiskt ramverk för studien.

Stroke definieras som en akut neurologisk dysfunktion av vaskulärt ursprung, och är en av de vanligaste orsakerna till död och neurologiska handikapp i världen. Den drabbade lider ofta av kvarstående funktionshinder som kan påverka hälsostatus, och dessa bör behandlas med rehabilitering. Hälsa bör därför mätas post-stroke för att utvärdera rehabiliteringen. Inadequate data quality has a negative effect for organizations, however utilization of modern technology and data analysis may shape new values for organizations. Our research has found that the quality of information in field reports for error reporting varies significantly. In many cases, the information in the field reports are deficient in such way that the field report need additional information from the sender, thus risking prolonging lead times in the error reporting process. More efficient use of information has become possible with today?s technology.
Någon måste göra något! Institutionsplacering: en konkret och för-givet-tagen åtgärd för att hantera ungdomar med beteendeproblem
The purpose of this study was to increase the understanding of the phenomenon that there are so many young people placed in institutions in Sweden despite the valuable knowledge regarding the problems and risks of doing so. The questions that follow in the essay were what guided the social workers to choose institutional placement for youngsters. It went on to also ask if this knowledge could contribute to an increased understanding of why there were so many young people placed in institutions despite the criticism from scientists. To accomplish the goal of the essay, former science in the subject was reported and six social workers within social services were interviewed. The material of the interviews was analyzed with help from the theory of human service organizations, street-level bureaucrats work situation and the new institutionalism.The result of the investigation showed that the social workers choices to place young people in institutions is guided by specific work and organizational factors connected with a belief in the helping function of the surroundings.

CGI är ett av världen största IT-tjänsteföretag med säte i Kanada. I Sverige erbjuder CGI flera tjänster där Business Process Services (BPS) är en av dem. Inom BPS finns grupperingen Data Documenting Services (DDS). DDS:s uppgift är att förmedla meddelanden till och mellan såväl människor som företag, via olika kanaler. Meddelanden som förmedlas i form av fysiska utskrifter, exempelvis administrativ post, hanteras inom tjänsten Printing Services.

Additive manufacturing is called 3D printing in everyday language and manufactures details by building them up layer by layer in an automated machine. The purpose of this work is therefore to investigate how mature additive manufacturing methods are and how they could be used at GE.The work has been divided into three parts. The first section investigates how additive manufacturing would work in the production workshop at GE.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka styrningen av unga vuxna inom ett av Sveriges ledande försäkringsbolag. Den problematik som legat till grund för studiens ämnesval är den uppmärksamhet svensk och internationell media på senare tid skapat kring dagens nyinträdda arbetskraft. Den unga arbetskraften beskrivs som individer som ställer betydande krav på sitt arbete i form av självständighet och flexibilitet. Samtidigt som tidigare studier visar på att traditionell, byråkratisk organisering finns kvar inom dagens organisationer. Resultat som motsätter sig den unga arbetskraftens krav om självständighet och flexibilitet.

An unpredictable global environment has resulted in high unemployment in Sweden in 2025. To ensure continued positive development of the country's GDP, it is therefore important to promote organizational diversity, as this can in turn contribute to increased innovation. However, unconscious bias among managers and recruiters can lead to distorted recruitment decisions that risk undermining diversity efforts. This study aims to increase understanding of how managers and recruiters handle unconscious bias during recruitment, as well as to identify specific methods organizations can use to improve their diversity. The study includes twelve qualitative interviews with respondents in formal managerial or recruitment roles from eight different organizations, analyzed through theories and previous research.

In the new media society, social media has become an important part of many organizations' daily lives. Organizations, whether public or private, must be where their audience is and many times, these can be found on social media channels like Facebook. Leading researchers in the fields of crisis communication and relationship management believe that social media is a great tool for managing relationships between an organization and its' public, whether it's before, during or after a crisis.The purpose of this study is to examine how the Karlstad municipality use Facebook to manage civic relations before, during and after a crisis. The municipality's approach will be compared to the citizens' experiences of the municipality's communication in different stages of a crisis.The theoretical framework used in this essay is the research on crisis communication and relationship management. How these two frameworks can be integrated with social media like Facebook, is an important part of understanding how the Karlstad municipality make use of Facebook to manage civic relations and communicate before, during and after a crisis.The empirical study consists of a qualitative interview, two qualitative content analysis and an online survey.
