Problem Faith in the power of advertising has varied largely through the ages, and since we know that advertising is paid for, it therefore has less weight than the usual news. Publicity through promotional activities is in turn difficult to control. The question which of these two ways to communicate with the market that is the most effective, is equally entitled to ask, as difficult to answer. Purpose/Aim This paper is designed as a pilot study with two different objectives that go hand in hand. The first overall aim is to investigate how advertising and PR / publicity can be measured with the same tools while designing this metric.

My essay is fundamentally about an idea. It could even be placed in the study of the history of ideas by the fact that it could be seen as if I am trying to reflect upon how one single idea can get a strong societal and historical impact. How thoughts, visions and then inventions are constructing societies and everything that derives from them. In my text I try to illuminate and connect social theory to our social reality and by using discourse (theory) analysis I try to study central terms in the discourse of surveillance. The question which is of social psychological interest would be that of how the individual in dialectical relation to thesurrounding society is free and how he then would get inflected by this surveillance.

Denna uppsats behandlar hur gymnasielärare i historia ser på IT som ett pedagogiskt redskap. Genom en kvalitativ undersökning med intervjuer samt en kvantitativ undersökning med 103 respondenter fann jag att en stor del av dessa lärare använder IT i sin undervisning, hur ofta de använder IT som ett pedagogiskt redskap varierar. En stor del av respondenterna svarade att de ville gå en kortare utbildning för att få kunskap och tips om hur man kan jobba med IT i historieundervisningen. Tillgången till datorsalar var god och en stor del av respondenterna ansåg att det fanns fördelar med att använda IT som ett pedagogiskt verktyg. Slutsatsen blir att flertalet lärare använder IT i sin undervisning idag, men de törstar efter mer utbildning inom området.

Detta arbete handlar om varför utbytesstudenter som kommer till Luleå tekniska universitet har valt att studera just där samt hur de upplever sin situation vad gäller studiesituation, socialt liv, traditioner, fritid och personlig utveckling. Föreligger det skillnader med avseende på kön, civilstånd, nationalitet samt hur lång tid de vistats i Luleå? En enkät på engelska skickades ut via e-post samt utdelades i ett klassrum. Resultaten visade att det var främst motiv som kan förknippas med inre motivation som var av betydelse för att studera i Sverige och Luleå. Signifikanta skillnader mellan kvinnliga och manliga studenter påträffades.

This study aims to scrutinize the four major banks in Sweden on how their profit havedeveloped over a time span of 15 years, whether stricter regulations have had anyimpact on financial key ratios and if there is any correlation between the banksprofitability and their risk taking. The period covered is the years 2000-2014. Thefigures are annually and the four major banks are; Handelsbanken, Nordea,Skandiviska Enskilda Banken (SEB) and Swedbank.The findings are that financial key ratios that include net income are pro-cycle whereSwedbank has the biggest volatility over the period and that the three other banks areless, but clear pro-cycle. There are also indications that stricter rules have madeimpact on the volatility of the profitability even though the period covered is notenough to ensure this claim. Nordea has had the lowest and most stable capital ratiothroughout the period and the other three banks lowered their debt-to-equity ratiosignificantly after the financial crisis in 2008.

This development has also led to a shift of power from businesses to consumers. Today?s consumers have more control of if, when and what messages they are exposed to.

Detta är en enkätstudie av skolors miljöarbete, det vill säga hur skolorna arbetar med och påverkar den yttre miljön. Syftet med arbetet är att undersöka ett antal skolors yttre miljöarbete, men även de miljömål skolan har för att värna om vår miljö. Resultatet av denna studie är att skolors miljöarbete är alltför knappt, vilket också tidigare forskning visat. På grundval av att resultatet i enkätstudien visade på ett nästintill obefintligt miljöarbete på skolorna samt att de inkomna svaren blev färre än beräknat, så har ett förslag arbetats fram tillsammans med en miljöutvecklare för hur skolor kan arbeta med miljön. Detta för att miljöarbetet skall bli en naturlig del såväl i undervisningen som i skolans övergripande arbete.

Due to the decrease in obtaining driver?s licenses among young people, the main purpose of this study was to acquire a deeper understanding of young people?s attitudes towards driver?s license and towards driver?s education. This is a qualitative study with a theoretical approach, which combines Bourdieu with post modern theories. By using focus groups a wide rage of attitudes among young people have been gathered. Having a driver?s license is still considered a standard among young people even though their attitude mostly depends on their need for one.

Syfte: Uppsatsens syfte är av beskrivande samt analyserande karaktär och ämnar undersöka Högskolan i Halmstads nuvarande krisorganisation och kriskommunikation. Målet är att sedan identifiera om, och i så fall hur, den befintliga kriskommunikationen kan effektiviseras.Metod: Insamling av dokument, semistrukturerade intervjuer och e-post enkäter.Resultat: Studien visar att krisorganisationen kan vara strukturerad på olika sätt beroende på vilken omfattning en kris bedöms ha. Det finns formellt inga fullständiga strategier för kriskommunikation, även om det informellt går att se tydliga mönster i hur sådan kommunikation sköts. Denna präglas av organisationens hierarkiska struktur och går i praktiken till och från närmsta chef. Organisationen är präglad av en traditionell syn på kriskommunikation, effektiviseringsförslag föreslår att organisationen i större utsträckning anammar en senmodern syn på kriskommunikation..

Background: Folate is a water - soluble vitamin necessary for normal DNA synthesis among  other mechanisms. Folate deficiency can cause megaloblastic anemia resulting from abnormal erythrocyte d evelopment. At the Department of Clinical Chemistry, Linköping, analysis of folate is performed with Siemens ADVIA Centaur® XP which uses an immunochemical method with chemiluminimetric detection. Currently, the assay is conducted on serum, is poured off and frozen after 48 h and treated with light protection because folate is considered to be light sensitive.Methods: This study tested lithium heparin plasma for analysis of folate with Siemens ADVIA Centaur® XP with the aim to be able to perform a package of analyzes in anemia investigation from the same collection tube. Furthermore, the stability of folate was studied for up to 168 h and examined regarding light sensitivity.Results: Statistically significant higher values were obtained in the analysis of folate in lithium heparin plasma than folate in serum (p < 0,001).

This essay aims to examine how science fiction literature is supported and made available for readers at four public libraries. Each library has its own opinion of what a public library?s role in society is, and that affects how literature acquisition and media exposure is done at that particular library. To explore this, the author uses a modified version of Elzinga and Andersson?s theory of traditionalism, pragmatism and emancipationism.

I denna designstudie överges dagens syn på e-postmedierad kommunikation som en linjär process. Bilden som linjära modeller ger av verkligheten är alldeles för generaliserad. Kommunikationsmodeller idag bortser från eller lägger minimal vikt på aspekter som är av betydande roll för hela kommunikationsprocessen. Syftet med denna designstudie är att utforma och evaluera en kommunikationsmodell som ska ligga till grund för analysering av e-postkommunikation. Modellen bygger på existerande teorier från kommunikationsvetenskapen och har modifierats med fenomen och aspekter som gör att den på ett realistiskt sätt speglar en verklig kommunikationsprocess.

The purpose of this thesisis to examine the female body ideal of the Swedish fitness blogs and how it is reproduced. To answer the research question five of the most read female fitness blogs were chosen for a critical discourse analysis. The results show that pictures is an important communication event. The ideal is reproduced by representing bodies with desirable attributes in environments and poses that communicates positive feelings. There is a dialectic relation between picture and text in each published post.

Polisens it-forensiska avdelning har bl.a. i uppgift att säkra bevis från datorer som tillhör personer misstänkta för brott. Det polisen gör är att använda en mängd olika program som producerar loggar med webbhistorik, e-post och meddelanden från en mängd program som används vid chatt. Det den här rapporten kommer fokusera på är framtagningen av en applikation som kan ta in alla dessa typer av loggar och rensa bort onödig information. Den återstående informationen struktureras om för att kunna generera en rapport med enhetligt utseende.
