This thesis analyses the literature debate in the overlooked Swedish magazine Samtid och Framtid 1944?1949. The magazine was first published at the end of World War II on the initiative of publisher Johan Hansson. After an interesting start, the terms of the debate in the magazine were changed after a power struggle on the editorial level. Thus, the magazine never became the influential arena for literary discussions that it first had potential of becoming.

The purpose of this essay was to examine the role of the acquisition of the Swedish language for integration of adult immigrants given by the seven parties currently in the parliament and other players on the field. The questions were meant to bring light upon the arguments used by the different players concerning the role of the Swedish language, to enlighten which discourses that are constructed, and the contradictions that exist between these. We parted from a postmodern position and used social constructionism to back up our method and theory of analysis; discourse theory. The results revealed three different discourses concerning the role of the Swedish language in the integration process; the liberal discourse, the discrimination discourse and the social democratic discourse. The liberal discourse claims that immigrants have a responsibility to learn Swedish to be able to achieve employment and to provide for themselves.

Urban planning in Sweden goes back to a prolonged tradition, and even since the beginning of the 16th century thereÂŽs been general plans for urban planning for cities in Sweden.Nowadays every municipality has a directive from the government to establish or re-new the general master plan covering the whole municipality every 4th year.The aim of this paper is to illustrate and shed light on the extent for the planning document and guidelines, and how they change from every active period and in what extent the provisional planning reaches its visions regarding the outcome of the actual city growth. This study was completed by studying the position of every apartment building that?s been constructed for the chosen area over the years of 2000 - 2014 and draw comparisons between the current master plan main visions regarding constructions ? and comparing the two separate visions to pin out the differences in the same subject.The result shows that there are some deviations from the plans but not as much as one would have thought in the city growth, and some deviations from the different planning documents. Some of the deviations was greater than others but overall the visions was about the same..

This essay reflects on the thoughts and experiences of social workers in child protection agencies when it comes to talking about sexuality with teenagers, age 13-20, who is being subjected to inquiry. The research is qualitative and based on five semi-structured interviews. It has a phenomenological position and has been analyzed hermeneutically through cognitive and gender theory. Previous research shows that youths who get in contact with child protection often have issues about their sexuality. This study show that social workers in the agencies lack knowledge about this issue and that they seldom talks about it with the teenagers or their own colleagues.

Politicians attract their voters by promising more jobs and investment in education, health and social care. Against this background, I wonder how the situation of artists will be affected by the followingquestions:? What political views on the artist's position in society appeared in propositions of Socialdemokraterna and Moderaterna?? In what way did these propositions influence the conditions of artists?? How have the artists of VĂ€rmland been affected by different (Socialdemokraterna and Moderaterna) cultural policies? With my investigation I find out more about the artists' conditions on a national level, but I also investigate the situation in VĂ€rmland. By examining policy proposals and reports, I learn more about the issues. I also conduct a survey and three in-depth interviews to obtain opinions from various sources.The respondents are the cultural departments of VĂ€rmland and representatives from cultural organizations.What is clear from my research is that politicians differ on some issues, especially those relating to commercialism and artist salaries.

The Sweden Democrats uses a term to describe a situation where ?swedes? are being discriminated against by other ethnic groups and where the elite is promoting this. The term ?svenskfientlighet? can be translated as ?swedofobia? and in this thesis a speech by the party leader Jimmie Åkesson held during the election campaign that solely was dedicated to this term is being analyzed with the help of tools developed by the scholar Ruth Wodak. Ruth Wodak has previously analyzed the rhetoric by other European right-wing-populist parties like FPÖ in Austria and has asked for other researchers to analyze the speech used by right-wing-populist and extremist parties to get a better understanding for just how these parties construct their different enemies.

This essay aims to determine how Muslims are produced in the public domain in Swedishcontemporary time. My study is based on three different materials; Hot mot demokrati ochvÀrdegrund ? en lÀgesbild frÄn Malmö investigating Islamist radicalism and extremism inRosengÄrd, articles on Omar Mustafa and his resignation from the Social Democratic Partyand Gun Holmertz article Islamismen fÄr allt större fÀste i HjÀllbo and the following debate.The method used is discourse analysis as the purpose of the study is to examine howMuslims are produced within the prevailing discourse. Theoretical points have beenPostcolonial theory, Orientalism, Islamophobia and ?us? and ?them?.The results of the study confirm the results of earlier studies, namely that Muslims are not produced in a beneficial way.

Detta arbete tar upp iden om att datorspel kan anvÀndas som ett hjÀlpmedel för att förstÄ och hantera komplexa system, för den enskilde spelaren sÄvÀl som för forskare. Arbetet fokuserar pÄ ett antal kritiska faktorer: möjligheter, problem och frÄgestÀllningar, samt tar upp en diskussion kring möjligheten att se datorspel som vÀrldar, lika verkliga som vÄr egen, dÄ vi ser pÄ det frÄn en position innanför systemet, genom speljaget som en agent i den virtuella vÀrlden, och vilka implikationer detta kan fÄ för hur vi kan lÀra oss att förstÄ och hantera komplexa system.Vi lever i en verklighet i vilken vi omges av komplexa system, bÄde sÄdana vi skapat sjÀlva och sÄdana som finns naturligt. Syftet med studien var att studera hur fenomenet sjÀlvlÀkning framstÀlldes i nationell och internationell forskning. Studien omfattar tre frÄgestÀllningar: (1) Hur definieras alkoholmissbruk i artiklarna? (2) Hur definieras sjÀlvlÀkning i artiklarna? (3) Hur framstÀlls sjÀlvlÀkningsprocessen i artiklarna? För att besvara dessa frÄgestÀllningar gjordes en selektiv kunskapsöversikt och en kvalitativ innehÄllsanalys anvÀndes som metod. Kunskapsöversikten utgjordes av tio forskningsdokument vilka omfattades av kvalitativa och kvantitativa undersökningar mellan Ären 1996-2007. Studiens position Àr postmodern.

Årligen kommer rapporter om hur svenskarnas boklĂ€sning minskar och pĂ„ kultursidorna förs regelbundet debatter kring bokens hotade position. Det finns en mĂ€ngd tillgĂ€nglig statistik över de mĂ€tbara aspekterna av böcker och lĂ€sning som t.ex. hur mĂ„nga som lĂ€ser, hur mycket de lĂ€ser, vad de lĂ€ser etc. De bakomliggande orsakerna, de underliggande motiv och attityder som pĂ„verkar konsumentbeteendet, finns det dĂ€remot inte lika mycket material kring. During the late 1990s a movement with the intention of forming independent libraries emerged on Cuba. They were seen as an alternative to the public libraries which were supposed to be suffering from censorship by the Cuban government. The purpose of this thesis is to compile and bring structure in a debate regarding public libraries on Cuba and what have become known as independent libraries. In this thesis a textual analysis has been approached for examining articles, websites and reports concerning what attitudes and position the library support organizations Friends of Cuban Libraries FCL, Cuban Libraries Solidarity Group CLSG and IFLA/FAIFE have regarding the two different library types. These positions is throughout the survey connected with the concept of intellectual freedom.

Studiens syfte var att undersöka mellanchefers upplevda behov av stöd i deras funktion som mellanchef, samt om det Àr möjligt att urskilja likheter i deras uppfattningar av stöd pÄ deras respektive arbetsplats. Studien tillÀmpade en kvalitativ metod dÀr data samlades in genom semistrukturerade intervjuer.
