Saab Aerosystems has a long tradition and a lot of competence in the field of flight simulation. Their ambition to broaden the market horizon has led to a discussion about also selling vehicle simulation solutions, both for military and civilian use.The aim of this thesis is to investigate the driver?s experiences of the accelerations he or she is exposed to whilst driving in rough terrain. The results may be used as a basis for future decisions and can act as a Platform for the construction of an effective simulation model.To investigate the driver?s exposure of acceleration, some kind of dynamic simulation is needed.

The aim of our master thesis is first and foremost to win the competition One Prize - mowing to Growing: Reinventing the American Lawn, announced in USA by the organization Terreform 1, the first of December 2009. Apart from winning the competition we have also tried to reach a deeper understanding of food production today and its future possibilities. Our ambition to present a winning design proposal has to a large extent decided the structure of the entire thesis. Our completed and submitted design proposal - growforgold.org - is a way of addressing urban food production in a creative way, keeping the sovereignty of the individual in mind. Instead of presenting a place-specific design solution our proposal aims to create incentives and possibilities for urban farming to take place anywhere and anytime. Our submission to the competition represents both a tool and a Platform which, put in practice, could make landscape architecture happen through the hands of the individual.

Detta examensarbete går ut på att ta fram en applikation, avsedd för mobiltelefoner, där man på ett enkelt sätt kan få reda på avgångarna för Dalarnas kollektivtrafik. Det stigande bensinpriset och bilåkningens negativa miljöpåverkan ligger som grund till att Etex AB och Balanz AB vill undersöka om det går att få människor att välja bussen framför personbilen. Om man genom denna applikation kan underlätta planeringen av människors dagliga resor, hur påverkas då valet av fortskaffningsmedel?Resultatet blev en applikation där man, via sin mobiltelefon, bland annat kan ta reda på avgångar för utvalda linjer av Dalatrafiks bussar, hantera linjekartor och synkronisera avgångar med telefonens kalender. Alla tidtabeller sparas i telefonen för att minska nätverkstrafiken och för att informationen enkelt ska kunna återanvändas.Dalatrafik är det företag som ansvarar för kollektivtrafiken i Dalarna.

The purpose of the thesis was to map the hydraulic load on the Knivsta river from stormwater runoff, and build a Platform for further studies of pollution loads on the rivers ecosystems. New residential areas are planned to be built in Knivsta municipality and it will have an impact on stormwater flows to Knivsta river. To examine the impact this will have, simulations were made in the area as it stands today and after expansion work. The work includes calculation of flows from the populated areas but also from the catchment area around it consisting of woodlands and fields. Because of expected climatic changes which may affect rainfall, the simulations have been performed with different return periods for rainfall data.

This report is the result of a master thesis carried out by the author, student at the Royal Instituteof Technology(KTH). The task was performed as a product development process at a companycalled Ameibo AB, located in Stockholm. It is the final task of the studies at the Master'sprogramme Design and Product Realization. The report is structured in a chronological order anddescribes the methods used, the implementation of these methods and a presentation of theresults given from these studies.Ameibo is a company located in Stockholm, distributing films on the internet. The aim of thismaster thesis was to investigate the possibilities of entering the market for portable devices.

Ocean Modules Sweden AB is a small business active in the field of underwater technology. Thecompany was contacted by the Swedish Defense Materiel Administration (FMV) in order todevelop a new system that would conform to their specific requirements. Two students at theRoyal Institute of Technology (KTH) were consulted in conjunction of this project in order to aidthe development and conceptual design of the system.The primary users of the system are the divers of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal division (EOD)- a branch of the Swedish Armed Forces. The purpose of the product was to incorporate allnecessary functions required by the EOD divers into one single system. The main functions arecommunication between the surface operator and diver, video recording, still imaging, positioning,navigation and ocean floor mapping with sonar.

These days most companies conduct some form of work for the external environment, quality and safety. In connection with this work, some companies have chosen to get management systems certified by any applicable standard for one or more of the fields while other companies have chosen other ways that are not associated with certification.In light of the fact that the individual systems are becoming unmanageable an increasing number of these companies are faced with the decision whether to integrate and coordinate these different systems or not. In order to study the possibilities of a company?s system coordination an assessment of elements particularly interesting for the company was performed. The key elements and focuses in the evaluation were staff access to information, experiences from other companies and environmental work status for some of the organization's companies.

This thesis is based on design theory about how to build an application for the mobile Platform, a scientific analysis and an application for grocery shopping and meal planning. The thesis also contains a valuation of the research and of the application. The valuation of the application was done by a usability test and an analysis of the results of the test.The application of the thesis has an easy navigation system, which is time saving and simple to use. Finding recipes with the associated ingredients is a quick fix. The search function can be used for searching freely after recipes as well as for separate ingredients. That makes it possible for the user to create own recipes from available ingredients.

Constantly growing demands from the costumers in the Automotive industry forces the subcontractors to seek alternative ways to compete. One parameter of quality is the components tolerance against NVH(Noise, Vibraion & Harshness) aspects. Kongsbergs Automotive has developed a new gear shifter Platform (Shift-by-Wire) that is sold to Alfa Romeo and used in of their car models. However, the company is not pleased with the components sound quality, therefore the main purpose of this thesis is to develope a number of concepts that is supposed to enhance these NVH-aspects.To get an understanding of the problem an analysis of the causes of the emitted sound has been done parallell to a product decomposition, function decomposition and a Ishikawa-diagram. Together with these methods has a litterature study been performed to get familiar with the physics of an impact and especially the emittment of noise.

Jag har som examensarbete på master-nivå formgivit en sittmöbel med utgångspunkt från min uppväxt i Dalarna. Målet har varit att göra en filosofisk tolkning av mina minnen samt en hyllning till regionen, i synnerhet Borlänge där jag växt upp.Jag har under projektets gång gjort en resa både på ett mentalt och rent fysiskt plan tillbaka till den plats jag växt upp för att utforska mina minnen och därigenom skapa en plattform för mitt designarbete.För att nå mitt resultat har jag använt mig av designmetoder som ITK, intervjuer, skisser, studiebesök, materialtester, mockups samt modelleringsverktyget Rhino.Resultatet är en stol inspirerad av saker som bland annat Ornäs stugan och musikkulturen i Borlänge. Stolen består av en metallkonstruktion, trädetaljer vid fötterna samt armstöden och en sits i läder.For my thesis work on postgraduate level, I have designed a chair based on my upbringing in Dalarna. The goal has been to make a philosophical interpretation of my memories and a tribute to the region, particularly Borlänge where I grew up.During the project I have made a trip both on a mental and physical level back to the place where I grew up to discover my memories and thereby creating a Platform for my design work.In order to achieve my result, I have used design methods such as ITK, interviews, sketches, field trips, materials testing, mockups and the modeling tool Rhino.The result is a chair inspired by things like Ornässtugan and the music culture in Borlänge. The chair consists of a metal construction, wooden feet and armrests and a seat made from leather..

Hypertension is one of the most common reasons for visiting primary care. It is one of the most important modifiable risk factors for cardiovascular disease, suffering and death. Lifestyle change, such as increased physical activity is the foundation of treatment of hypertension. Lifestyle change starts as a process in which patients can be helped by a nurse through conscious communication, educate and support increased physical exercise.AimThe aim of this study was to investigate the district nurse´s experiences of interacting with patients with hypertension about physical activity.MethodIndividual qualitative study. Ten nurses from health center were interviewed.

Idag besöker vi inte längre webbplatser enbart via datorer, utan även mobiltelefoner och surfplattor. För att göra interaktionen på en webbplats användbar via flera olika plattformar blir det allt vanligare med responsiv anpassning. Denna utveckling ställer högre krav på den grafiska formgivaren som bör ha god kunskap om de plattformar som designen tillämpas på för att nå högsta möjliga användbarhet. En grafisk formgivare ska alltså förstå vad användbarhet innebär och hur denna kunskap ska tillämpas i designen. Kandidatarbetet undersöker vad som definierar användbarhet och vad grafisk design bidrar till i skapandet av responsiva webbplatser. Utifrån litteraturstudier i samband med en produktion i form av en responsiv webbplats, presenterar vi i detta arbete våra metoder för hur den grafiska designen ska uppnå användbarhet oavsett plattform. ---- We no longer visit websites solely by using computers, but also mobile phones and tablets.

The essay proceeds to discuss and evaluate the findings, whilst reflecting on the advantages of social media usage from the point of view of an official national tourism organization.Method: The authors used three different methods of research: one structured observation to study the national tourism organizations? everyday work in social media, one field stimulation to study if and how different NTO respond if a prospective visitor makes them a direct question via social media and finally an email interview to gain insight into NTO?s underlying strategies and policies about social media usage.Theoretical framework: The theories that have been used in this paper include the Uses and gratifications model, theories of one-way and multi-way communication, theories of social media and relationship marketing.Conclusion: By making use of social media the company releases some of its control to the customers as the latter can express their opinions freely in this type of media. One of the advantages of social media is that the Platform favors dialogue and feedback. Social media can be used for traditional one-way communication, but works best as a supplement to the regular marketing activities, allowing the activities on social media Platforms to focus on branding and building long-term customer relationships.

The Social Democratic Party and the Moderate Party are two parties with different ideological background. The parties have different opinions in issues of public and private matters. The Social Democratic Party profiles it self, through the local and national party programs, as a party for solidarity and security. The Moderate Party, on the other hand, profiles it self through their programmes as a party with a possibility for the individual to shape his or her own life. Through a survey on members in the local government, and two key persons at national level, the view of municipal self-government has appeared.
