Filmmusic is often composed specially for a film. When analyzing film-music it seems very common to study the function of the music in a narrative context in order to see how it cooperates or relates to this narration. In the present thesis I am investigating the interaction between film and music as two ingredients on an equal level. In short: what happens when a filmmaker chooses music that has already been composed for another occasion, even in another time and a different cultural context? My aim is twofold: first to examine current film analytic strategies, secondly to find new ways of comprehend pre-composed music in relation to its new setting in a film.

Våra samhälleliga problem ser idag annorlunda ut än vad de gjorde vid förra sekelskiftet, men det räcker också att gå tillbaka femtio år i tiden, när Södra Guldheden bebyggdes. Ett stort problem som vi allt oftare blir uppmärksammade om, är att vår miljö inte längre klarar den belastning som dagens bilanvändande medför. Genom de långa avstånd våra utspridda städer ger upphov till, förvärras det globala problemet. Vi behöver därför förtäta våra städer inåt och nyttja lämplig mark för detta, det har vi mycket att vinna på även ur andra avseenden. För att undvika att vi genom förtätning bygger bort stora kvaliteter i våra befintliga kulturmiljöer, behöver vi se området utifrån en helhet.

In this study it has been investigated what is missing in non-strength training women to begin exercise regular strength training. It has also examined the level of knowledge about the health benefits and the employer's encouragement to maintain good health. The study was designed in a qualitative methodology and data collection was designed in form of semi-structured interviews. Six women were interviewed between the ages 22-51år. The results showed that women possessed a very low level of knowledge about strength training and also fears and prejudices existed among them.

The thesis first objective was to develop field instructions for forest planning of native forests in Andean Patagonia, and the second objective was to test the plan on an actual property in the area. The thesis was limited to studies in the province of Rio Negro. Today, there are no official forest management plans for native forests in the Argentinean province of Rio Negro; thus, there is an obvious need for an official forest management plan with clear guidelines. Severe floods caused by heavy autumn rains in year 2000 raised the question whether measures to reduce the damage from high water levels, in the area surrounding lake Glafsfjorden and along the river Byälven down to lake Vänern, are possible. One option is to reduce flow resistance along the river and thereby lower the maximum water level a given inflow would cause. Good knowledge of hydraulic and hydrological conditions is necessary in order to estimate the effect of such flow-reducing measures. In order to quantify such effect a 1-dimensional hydraulic flow model has been set up for the river Byälven using the software package MIKE 11. The model is more detailed, especially concerning topography and bathymetry, than earlier models used for studies of the river.

Examensarbetet syftar till att ge förslag till ett trivsamt bebyggelseområde på Lövholmen i Stockholm. Vad är det som gör vissa stadsrum mer trivsamma än andra? Vilka faktorer påverkar vårt intryck av det offentliga rummet? Jag har valt att fokusera på faktorerna form, flöde och funktion, som jag anser har stor påverkan på hur människor upplever stadsmiljön. Stadens form utgör dess gestalt, d v s struktur, skala och utseende. Med flöde avses de mänskliga rörelserna i det offentliga rummet.

All arable land in Sweden need a proper drainage for an effectively agriculture to take place. Of all arable land in Sweden, about 50% is naturally drained and 50% need artificial drainge. More than half of the tile drained area is in need of new drainage or renewed drainage. A good drainage improves farming and crop growth and increases the opportunity to achieve a high and safe harvest level. Future climate change and agriculture size rationalization will increase the need for good drainage. In this paper, two trials with three drainage distances, performed at Lanna experimental station, were analyzed using a mixed linear model.

We live in a time where the influence of citizens is taking a larger role in the spatial planning. The Swedish laws, such as PBL, deals with matters of citizen participation which advocates that the youth should be included in the consultation circuit, but there is no directive given.  The report's purpose is to demonstrate methods for how to get the young people's influence included in the spatial planning, with a main focus on the ages between 13 and 21. On the base of literature and two case studies, the goal is to illustrate how to integrate young people through a meeting place in Jonkoping, Sweden. The report is structured along with an analysis based on the literature, two case studies from previous projects and discussions/interviews with young people from four selected areas in Jonkoping.  The case studies from Malmo and Gothenburg show how the cooperation between different participants can be organized during the planning and how to give the users a greater involvement. Based on literature and case studies, we carried out a field analysis of the four most segregated areas of Jonkoping; Osterangen, Oxnehaga, Ekhagen and Raslatt.

Syftet med examensarbetet har varit att upprätta ett förslag över hur man kan utveckla ön Ljusterö i Stockholms skärgård samtidigt som man säkerställer och bevarar de kvaliteter som finns på ön. Examensarbetet syftar också till att utreda hur man kan integrera Ljusterö i en växande förortskommun samtidigt som man bibehåller öns specifika karaktärsdrag. Ljusterö ligger i Österåkers kommun ca 3 mil norr om Stockholm. Ön genomgår i nuläget en omfattande permanentomvandling, dvs då befintliga fritidshusområden omvandlas till permanentboenden. Detta ställer ökade krav på infrastrukturen, som exempelvis nya vägar, vatten- och avlopp och snöröjning. På ön finns flera områden som är av kulturhistoriskt värde, samt områden som är klassade som ekologiskt särskilt känsliga områden.

The thesis main objective is to establish the determinants for granting executive stock options and to examine their impact on performance for firms listed on OMXS30. The analysis is based on accounting data gathered from annual reports and Thomson Datastream. The empirical results display that firms grant stock options to mitigate the principal-agent problem. Furthermore, risk proves to be positively significant with executive stock options, implying that either executives increase the level of risk after being granted stock options or influence the decision of the remuneration towards stock options when the firm increase the level of risk, in purpose to boost the expected value of their options. The purpose of this study is to examine the accessibility with public transportation in the case of the Umeå Region in northern Sweden. This is done by GIS network analysis where both access to transit stops, as well as access by public transport from stops to destinations is examined. An accessibility index is created from transit frequency and travel times to destinations. The results is compared with population register data to calculate what shares of the population has which levels of accessibility with public transportation. In the Umeå Region there are different levels of accessibility by public transport for different parts of the region, where transit stops in the most densely populated areas has the highest levels of accessibility, as well as stations along the railroads.
