The purpose of the study was to find out how Swedbank Insurance view of health characterizes wellness work at the company. It was a qualitative study in which five persons involved in their health and wellness work were interviewed. Their business plan was based generally on the basis of the biomedical approach, but the results proved otherwise. The four categories that were set up after the results were; Health is to feel good physically as well as psychologically, health is the absence of illness, wellness is to do things together in a healthy environment and wellness is to challenge their co-workers with different kinds of challenges..

Romantiklitteratur och genus en text- och läsarundersökning

This Masters thesis aims to study the reading habits of readers of romantic fiction, especially focusing on gender issues. The main areas studied are the function of reading romances compared with reading other genres, and how the readers value romantic and general literature. The thesis is based on qualitative interviews with seven readers of romances, five women and two men. The theoretical background is based on reader response theory and gender theory. Before I started interview the readers I asked them to read two romances; Sidney Sheldons - The best Laid Plans, and Rosamunde Pilchers - The End of Summer, which we later discussed during the interviews.

ABSTRACTBackground: On behalf of the Orthopedic clinic, Västerås, a study has been conducted with focus on comparing the results after conservative and surgical treatment due to complete achillestendon rupture.Aim: To compare results when testing the active and passive range of motion, calf muscle endurance, estimation of pain related to the achillestendon and self-efficacy to be physically active for individuals who have undergone conservative or surgical treatment after complete achillestendon rupture.Method: 14 individuals afflicted by complete achillestendon rupture in 2010 were recruited as a purposive sample. Examination were conducted of: Ankle range of motion with a goniometer, calf muscle endurance through a toe-raise test, estimation of pain intensity related to the achillestendon by VAS and self-efficacy to be physically active through ?Exercise self-efficacy scale?. P-value and the median were calculated.Result: The results of ankle range of motion and calf muscle endurance were based on the difference between the injured and the healthy side. When testing active plantarflexion the conservative group had a median of 4 ? and the surgical group had a median of 10 ?.

Skapande av animationer för interaktiv spelmedia genom motion capture

In this thesis I will propose and test a pipeline for creating in-game animations using motion capture technology, with the aim to export to a 3D game engine, such as UDK or similar. Even though there are already established pipelines for creating in-game animations in the game industry, they are not of public knowledge and dissemination of information is hindered by the severe NDA (non-disclosure agreements) imposed on the studios and artists. I will therefore use my experience with game production and as a student, to research and propose an optimal pipeline for developing in-game animation that may be used by other students, researchers and independent game developers. The methodology used to test the pipeline will be a case study based on the student project Synergy, which I am developing with other third year students also attending the Game design Education at Gotland University..

Kroppsspråk i 3d-animation : Lögner hos 3d-karaktärer

Detta arbete undersöker huruvida vi kan uppfatta lögn och nervositet hos en avskalad virtuell karaktär. Utifrån forskning om beteendevetenskap, kroppsspråk och icke-verbala signaler har lögnsignaler och nervositetstecken animerats hos en avskalad virtuell karaktär. Dessa animationer visades utan audiella ledtrådar, såsom tal, för urvalsgrupper och en kvantitativ undersökning genomfördes för att besvara arbetets frågeställning.Undersökningens resultat gav emellertid inget konkret svar på frågeställningen. För att respondenterna skulle uppfatta lögnsignaler hos en avskalad virtuell karaktär krävdes att ett flertal aspekter togs i beaktning, exempelvis behövde lögnsignalerna vara tydliga och inte överskuggas av starkare känslor eller signaler. Nervositetstecken avlästes dock enkelt av respondenterna i undersökningen vilket kan betyda att en avskalad virtuell karaktär kan gestalta ett nervöst tillstånd utan audiella ledtrådar.Resultatet som undersökningen gav har ställts mot insamlad data och tidigare forskning för att diskutera undersökningens brister och lämpliga framtida justeringar för att åtgärda dessa.

Tillgänglig teater? : Uppsats om arbetet med och den fysiska tillgängligheten på Wermland Operaoch Västanå Teater

This bachelor thesis is based on how the two cultural institutions in Sweden have been working onincreasing physical accessibility. Based on the three objectives specified by the Swedish Kulturrådet(Swedish Arts Council). These points are 1.forming a workplace strategy, 2. Work to remove simpleobstacles in buildings and 3.Improved Web access in regard to the accessibility for physically disabled.The work regarding the accessibility goals is set on the time frame 2011-2016. The institutions studiedin this paper are Wermland Opera and Västanå Teater and how the two institutions have worked toimplement the three objectives and how the discussion about the accessibility within the two theaters hasbeen organized.The method of information gathering in this paper has been interviews with representatives from the twotheaters.

Utvecklingen av en animationspipeline : En handbok för animatören som är med och startar ett nytt spelprojekt

Denna rapport är en reflekterande text över skapandet av en digital handbok för animatörer som är med och startar ett nytt spelprojekt. Handboken är ett verk som gjordes som examensarbete på Högskolan i Skövde vårterminen 2009.Rapporten beskriver processen bakom skapandet av handboken. Denna process innefattar praktiskt arbete på företaget Junebug AB i Malmö, en förberedande litteraturstudie av hur text skrivs på ett tydligt, pedagogiskt sätt, en ytterligare litteraturstudie av tidigare skrivna handböcker för animatörer, intervjuer med animatörer i branschen och på utbildningen och sammanställning av handboken.Den centrala frågeställningen var: Hur kan man i handboksform på bästa sätt förmedla hur en animationspipeline1 tas fram, underhålls/effektiviseras och dokumenteras?Målet med arbetet har varit att sammanställa en handbok som andra animatörer kan använda sig av. Syftet har varit att lära mig om en riktig arbetsmiljö i spelbranschen och förmedla detta i handboken.
