Introduction. Infection Prevention is one of the surgical nurses' main responsibilities. One of the steps which patients undergo in this purpose before surgery is the preoperative skin desinfektion. Background. The patient washes the day before surgery with Descutan cutaneous sponge 4 %, a sponge containing chlorhexidine.

The purpose of this study was to explore nurses' experiences of obstructed airways in the prehospital work.A qualitative interview study with a descriptive and explorative design was used. The sample consisted of nine registered nurses whereof three were women and six were men, with or without further education and varying length of experience in the ambulance service.Prehospital personnel builds up a vast plan of action based on the emergency information provided by SOS. Simple methods for managing obstructed airways were stated often enough. Problems with obstructed airways are considered so unusual that it never becomes a routine. Several factors affect the identification and managing of obstructed airways, both external factors and the different patient categories are considered important.

A Large part of the education provided at colleges and universities of today requires for thestudent to be more independent in their studies. This demands that the physical space,where the students choose to study, is designed in a way that can encourage and supportlearning. It seems as though that many of the learning spaces of today don?t always meetthe students? needs. The university library at the University of Umeå is currently planningto design new learning spaces for the students.

In this critical situation the nurse has an important role for the care. Many nurses lack of knowledge about how to take care of the bereaved relatives. Aim: The aim of the literature study was to describe aspects of caring for suddenly bereaved relatives. Method: The data for the study were scientific articles found in the databases PubMed and Cinahl and from a manual search.

Syftet med föreliggande studie var att beskriva erfarna sjuksköterskors reflektioner om hur deuppnår ett gott bemötande av patienter. Studien hade en beskrivande design och genomfördes somen semistrukturerad intervjustudie. Sex erfarna sjuksköterskor verksamma inom somatiskavuxenvården intervjuades. Materialet analyserades med kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Resultatet avdenna studie visar att sjuksköterskan vill skapa en öppen atmosfär.

Background: Sleeping is a condition that is necessary for all people because the body isgiven time to recover. Studies have shown that patients found it difficult to sleep during thehospital stay and it turned out to be several factors that disturbed the sleep during the night.The nurse should note the patient?s need for sleep and take into account environmental andother sleep disturbances to be able to implement nursing interventions. Purpose: The purposeof this study was to elucidate the factors that interfere with patient?s sleep duringhospitalization and nursing care to promote the patient?s ability to sleep.

It is now increasingly common for organisations to work actively with HR issues. Furthermore, it is a constant top priority for organisations to remain profitable. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether so called soft HR values, as manager?s communication skills, has an actual impact on hard values in terms of costs for the organisation. Leadership is largely characterised by emotional communication, which together with personnel costs were the main focus of the research.

Bakgrund: Kommunikation är en grundläggande förutsättning för patientsäkerheten inom vårdorganisationen. Tidigare forskning inom området handlar till stor del om kommunikation mellan sjuksköterska och patient eller sjuksköterska och läkare. Forskning som studerar kommunikation mellan sjuksköterska och omvårdnadspersonal finns i betydligt mindre omfattning.Syfte: Att ur omvårdnadspersonalens perspektiv kartlägga kommunikationen med sjuksköterskor inom korttidsboende samt beskriva erfarenheter av kommunikation mellan sjuksköterskor och omvårdnadspersonal i omvårdnaden av patienter som vistas på korttidsboende.Metod: EnkätstudieResultat: Resultatet visar att omvårdnadspersonalen har både bra och mindre bra erfarenheter av kommunikation med sjuksköterskor. Enligt omvårdnadspersonalen är kommunikationen betydelsefull för att patienterna ska få en god vård, men även eftersom olika yrkesgrupper arbetar i team. Rutiner för kommunikation finns och omvårdnadspersonalens erfarenhet är att dessa fungerar bra.

The purpose of this study was to describe how women with fibromyalgia experienced their quality of life. The method used was a literature study with a descriptive design. The search for scientific articles was done by the databases Academic Search Elite, CINAHL, Medline via PubMed and Cohrane Library. The articles were quality-tested and the content studied, resulting in four categories as follows. Research involving the physical aspects of the quality of life showed that sleeplessness, tiredness and pain was commonly occurring symptoms in women?s daily life which affected their life-situation.

Health carepersonnel are experiencing difficulties to meet and care for these patients. Aim: The aim ofthis studyisto describe patients'experiences of health care after they were diagnosed with asexually transmitted disease.

Sömnen är livsviktig för alla människor eftersom det är den tid då kroppen återhämtar sig och behovet av sömn blir därför speciellt viktigt vid sjukdom. Forskning har visat att sjukhusmiljön inte alltid är optimal för att främja sömn, något som vi själva också upplevt under kliniska studier. Syftet med studien var att klargöra vilken betydelse sömn har och hur sömnen kan förstås i relation till hälsa och välbefinnande för patienten i sjukhusmiljön. Studien är en begreppsanalys där sömn har sökts och analyserats i lexikon, vetenskapliga artiklar och facklitteratur. Resultatet visar att sömnen är den tid då kroppen samlar kraft och immunförsvaret byggs upp.

Family centres are established to serve families with children and the personnel usually consists of units of social-workers, preschool staff, paediatric nurses and midwives. The purpose of the study was to examine the social-workers preventive work with families at the family centre. To fulfil the purpose, a qualitative interview with five social-workers was conducted. The theoretical framework referred to attachment and empowerment theory. The results of the study showed that the main part of the work consists of giving advice and support to parents.

This Master?s thesis is about the public library development in a rural district, in this case Bergunda, a large rural district in Kronoberg?s County in Småland in Sweden, existing 1952 ? 1970. The main question is; how the public library develops in Bergunda large rural district 1951-1970. The main question is divided up in sub-questions: the district uniting in 1952 and 1971; personnel; lending; library housing and the public library structure. In 1952, there is one public library, Bergunda public library, and four study circle libraries.

This is a qualitative study, whose purpose is to examine if night shelters effects homeless peoples self-perceived psychosocial health. In Sweden alone there are almost 18000 homeless people, and 12% of them uses a night shelter. The homeless can?t be seen as a heterogeneous group but instead homelessness counts as a state of being in. The Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare have done mapping over the homelessness since 1993 and the problem is an important part of what the welfare system has to fight against.
