Malmö högskola: Fa-kulteten för Hälsa och Samhälle, Institutionen för vårdvetenskap, 2012. Gliom är en allvarlig tumörsjukdom där möjligheten till tillfrisknande är be-gränsad. Sjukdomen har en djup inverkan både på patient och anhöriga i var-dagen.

Uppsatsen är en kvalitativ fallstudie där vi har jämfört två olika forskningsintensiva branscher utifrån en checklista. Utifrån teori och empirisk data har vi analyserat branscherna. Syftet är att undersöka i en jämförande studie, vilka avvägningar som forskningsintensiva företag gör innan de lämnar ut frivillig information avseende FoU och till vilken nytta dessa avvägningar görs.Våra slutsatser är att finns både tydliga branschlikheter som branschskillnader. I båda branscherna lämnar företag mycket information om färdig forskning och produktportfölj. Syftet med att lämna frivillig information är att kunna fortsätta konkurrera på en marknad som präglas av hyperkonkurrens, där företag är i ständigt behov av nytt kapital för att finansiera fortsatt FoU..

The relation between LIS and physical bibliography is examined primarily through an analysis of such LIS literature as applies physical bibliography in research or otherwise discusses its relevance to information studies. Quite a number of scholars are stressing the usefulness of this bibliographical tradition, even though its position in LIS agenda as a whole seems to be less established. These scholars suggest that physical bibliography presents interesting conceptual and theoretical implications for many of the central objects of study in LIS, for example, knowledge organization, information retrieval, and information seeking. It is also suggested that physical bibliography could help deepen our knowledge and understanding of the digital media ecology. Physical bibliography is foremost seen as a method for the analysis of documents, a method in which not least its terminological apparatus may be a significant tool.

The purpose of this study was to find out what are the information needs of the nurses and if the hospital library can satisfy these needs, and see how the hospital library reaches the nurses with their information provision. The main questions are: what kinds of service exist at the hospital library? What kinds of needs have the nurses concerning the hospital library? How are the needs satisfied by the hospital library? What marketing strategies are used by the hospital library to reach out to the nurses? Is it enough to achieve the goal? The method in this study was a case study with the emphasis on the qualitative interviews. The study was conducted at the hospital library at Södra Älvsborgs Sjukhus in Borås. The interviews concerned the nurses views on the hospital library, information needs and marketing.

AbstractThe importance of good construction planning affects the final costs of the production and the timing of the project. Planning for building projects has been studied with the aim of identifying how three week planning appears in the construction industry today.A case study has been conducted in Navisworks Simulate to assess whether the software is suitable to connect the task schedule with the BIM model to create a 4D model. 4D models are used for performing 4D construction simulation to visualize the project. In order to use the benefits of the model, investment in equipment and software is required. This means higher costs for the companies.

Bakgrund: Föräldrar är ofta oroliga i samband med barnets operation. Studier har visat att god information till föräldrarna kan minska denna oro. Dock har studier även visat att föräldrar till barn som ska opereras får ofta bristfällig information både pre-, per- och postoperativt.Syfte: Syftet med den här studien är att ta reda på hur föräldrar till barn som har opererats, på ett barnsjukhus i mellersta Sverige, upplevde informationen de har fått pre-, per- och postoperativt.Metod: Kvalitativa intervjuer genomfördes med nio deltagande föräldrar. Data analyserades med innehållsanalys.Resultat: Den skriftliga hemskickade informationen upplevdes bristfällig då information om operationen samt hemsidan saknades. Den muntliga preoperativa informationen upplevde vissa föräldrarna som tillräcklig då de fick information angående operationen.

Denna reflexiva rapport är menad att guida läsaren genom mitt arbete som designer under designmomentet: utveckling av stridssystem till spelet Colosseum. Texten är skriven på dagboksform för att ge en inblick i mina framgångar och motgångar i utvecklingen. Eftersom arbetet pågår mellan två spel har jag valt att kalla det första Colosseum för PreGen (Previous Generation) och det nya för NextGen (Next Generation). Frågorna jag strävat efter att besvara är om jag kan identifiera de tråkiga bitarna med PreGen och hur jag ska gå tillväga för att inte göra om tidigare misstag. De tråkiga bitarna identifierades snabbt med speltestning samtidigt som mina tidigare erfarenheter hjälpte mig undvika dessa misstag under utvecklingen av det nya systemet.Vid framtagningen av kontrollschemat har jag låtit mig inspireras av tidigare, lyckade spel samtidigt som jag satt min egen prägel på det.

BAKGRUND: Miljön påverkar personliga assistenternas arbetsställningar och fysiska arbetsbelastning och kan resultera i skadlig inverkan vid förflyttning av klient, men få studier är gjorda inom detta område. SYFTE: att kartlägga åtta personliga assistenters arbetsställningar, deras skadliga inverkan, ländryggsflexion och biomekanisk ländryggsbelastning vid två förflyttningar av klient. METOD: Stillbildsfotografier och videofilm har använts för kartläggning av arbetsställningar vid förflyttning av klient. Två förflyttningar av klient har studerats: uppresning från ryggliggande till sittande samt från sittande på sängkant till stående/till rullstol. Fotografier har använts vid analys av arbetsställningar och observeration av skadlig inverkan.

The city of Kalmar has a desire that their 3D maps of the city should come to a greater use and get residents more involved in Kalmar city. The purpose of this report is to show one way to work with these 3D maps when it comes to presenting information about Kalmar for its residents and tourists in a specific area.  The report also includes information about advantages and disadvantages with the use of 2D and 3D maps in different environments. Various reports and other sources indicate an interest in 3D and a use for this, but even that 2D is still seen as a natural way to read a map. By collecting information from relevant literature, interviews and user testing, the group has obtained sufficient background information to present the results of a web site, where the visitor can navigate in both 2D and 3D in a specific area of Kalmar. User tests and surveys have been conducted in two rounds and the web site has been revised after their results..

The study aimed to evaluate the information and training the stoma therapist at Uppsala University Hospital has given to patients who have recently undergone stoma surgery. The study was a descriptive cross-sectional study using qualitative and quantitative design. A total of 22 patients who completely or partially took care of their stomas and recently had undergone stoma surgery participated by answering a questionnaire. At discharge most of them experienced they were relatively well-informed but they wanted more information. Before the revisit they weren?t especially safe or comfortable.

This Master's thesis in library and information science aims to shed light on the concept of information literacy in higher education, particularly as manifested in two dissertations on the subject. Two models of information literacy are compared: Christina Doyle's list of ten attributes for students to master and Christine Bruce's seven conceptions of information literacy. The cognitive-behaviourist tradition in Doyle's study and the alternative, phenomenographic approach in Bruce's research are compared and commented. The taxonomies and internal relationship between separate components in the two models are investigated, as well as the ways the models relate to each other. The respective views of knowledge and learning are described.

This two years master?s thesis consists of a domain analysis on the local Swedish newspaper Gefle Dagblad (GD). The domain analysis was developed by the Danish library and information scientist Birger Hjørland. The purpose of this theory is to understand the information behavior of individuals by studying the social and collec-tive context which surrounds this person. According to Hjørland, four different areas need to be studied in order to analyze a domain.

Detta har medfört att lojalitet har blivit ett allt viktigare begrepp för företag. Genom att företag lyckas behålla sina befintliga kunder, kan företaget öka sin egen lönsamhet, då det är betydligt dyrare att attrahera nya kunder. Litteraturen menar att ett lojalitetsprogram som är anpassat efter kunden är nyckeln till att behålla de mest lönsamma kunderna. Lojalitetsprogrammet möjliggör för företag att kommunicera med kunderna på en mer personlig nivå, vilket gör att kunderna känner sig mer speciella och viktiga för företaget.

The potential of information technology as a means to invigorate democratic practise is constantly under discussion. Regardless of the differing opinions as to the most suitable way to utilise IT, there are certain democratic core values that have to be considered. One of these is freedom of information, defined by us as the right of every citizen to seek, obtain and express information. The aim of this study is to explore whether the use of IT as a means to enhance democracy can strengthen the citizens right to freedom of information. As an instrument for analysis we use an article by Jan van Dijk, professor of communication science.

This essay focuses on tourists' information seeking. The main focus was to examine whether there is a connection between how the informants in different tourist styles the different tourist styles are presented by Eva Wolf as the tourist of recreation, action, culture, compromise, and individualism seek information to their forthcoming vacation. The result was reached through a qualitative method, where ten informants with various tourist roles were interviewed separately. The informants were chosen by personal contacts. In addition to these interviews, three representatives from the tourist industry were contacted and interviewed by e-mail.
