The purpose of this Master Thesis is to compare two American novel suites for young women, Louisa May Alcott?s Little Women and Good Wives to Ann Brashares series of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. The social status of women and children in the US during the 19th century is analyzed and compared historically and literary with the situation 130 years later.The main question is, what differences exist in the books and is there a connection between the changes in society and literature?The method of this Master Thesis is to make a comparative narratological analysis placed in a historical context.The result shows that the multiple character remains and enhances the identification process. Motherhood in the works of Alcott is prominent, whereas in the works of Brashares, sisterhood replaces motherhood.In Alcott?s US during the 19th century, Christian faith was in the foreground.

This is an essay about journalism and the ethical norms of journalism. Four famous cases have been analyzed; Watergate, News of the World, Joy Rahman and Bill Clinton. When analyzing we used the theories of Denis McQuail and the ethical guidelines of the Swedish Journalist Association. We have also used the ideas of utilitarianism to analyze the chosen cases.We aimed to analyze the roles of the journalists involved and found that the ethical norms are customizable to each and every case. In the Watergate-case the journalists act somewhat in contrast to the ethical guidelines but do so in order to favor the public, which makes it approvable.

Syftet med studien är att öka kunskapen kring hur normer och värderingar påverkar hur personalen på demensboenden förhåller sig till demenssjukas sexualitet och kärleksrelationer. I studien genomfördes fyra kvalitativa fokusgruppsintervjuer. Sammanlagt deltog 23 stycken undersköterskor och vårdbiträden från demensboenden i Stockholmsområdet. Materialet bearbetades och tematiserades i följande fyra teman: Reflexivitet hos personalen, Personalens syn på de boendes rätt till självbestämmande och det sexuella handlingsutrymmet, Samtycke och övergrepp samt Personalen, genus och heterosexuell tvåsamhet. Resultatet visar att personalen reglerar det sexuella handlingsutrymmet för de demenssjuka och att personalens roll varierar från att vara möjliggörare till de demenssjukas sexualitet, till att begränsa men inte förbjuda sexualiteten.

AbstractIn this essay I examine the exegetical problems concerning the interpretation of the metaphor ???????????????? in 2 Corinthians 2:14.The regular idea of the metaphor is that the apostle Paul is using the picture of a Roman triumph to describe the apostle?s and his co-worker?s service for God. This includes that God is leading them into many sufferings finished off with a martyr death as the triumph was very painful for its prisoners and mostly ended with an execution. But since A.D 300 such an interpretation has been questioned. Scholars react primarily to the cruelty of it and ask if that really was Paul?s meaning.

This is a study about engagements and motivation. Its purpose is, by looking at other motivational theories than Abraham Maslow?s hierarchy of needs, to find out why certain people choose to become engaged as student representatives. The question this study is working from is: why do certain people choose to engage themselves as student representatives?This study has a qualitative approach, which means that a number of interviews have been done and subsequently profoundly analyzed.

Syftet med studien var att utifrån personalperspektiv, göra en jämförelse mellan omsorgspersonal som arbetar i ett specifikt demensboende, respektive omsorgspersonal som arbetar i ett annat särskilt boende. På vilket sätt deras psykosociala arbetsmiljö skiljer sig i det dagliga mötet och samspelet mellan omsorgspersonal och personer med demenssjukdom. Vilka skillnader som fanns beträffande behov av handledning i form av personal- och individuella möten och samtal samt möjligheterna till reflektion, i det kontinuerliga dagliga arbetet. Metoden har varit personliga intervjuer med totalt åtta personal som arbetar på två olika särskilda boenden, fyra omsorgspersonal från vardera särskilda boende. Resultatet som framkommit är att omsorgspersonalen på de båda boendeformerna inte har någon organiserad handledning och tid för reflektion.

The ISO standard ISO/IEC 17799/SS-627799-2 is a guidance for organizations to realize their information security goals. In spite of this standard, studies show flaws regarding information security in organizations. In particular flaws regarding overall view, knowledge and clear roles and responsibilities have been observed. The ISIT (Information Security Integrated Three level) model and its guidelines, developed in this thesis, help organizations to identify the required processes and procedures as well as the logical process flow. The thesis is based on theoretical studies and a case study within a multinational company.

De senaste åren har statistiken för barn som får diagnosen ADHD skjutit i höjden. (Danielsson 2011). I takt med att diagnoserna hos barn ökat har kraven för att få extra resurs i förskolan också ökat (Lindgren 2012). Det blir därför en utmaning för pedagoger och lärare när dessa extra resurser för barn i behov av särskilt stöd blir svårare att få i verksamheten. Utifrån denna bakgrund är huvudsyftet med studien att undersöka vad som händer i förskoleverksamheten efter att ett barn fått en ADHD-diagnos.

Denna studie har som syfte  att  beskriva, tolka och förstå ungdomsjobbarnas upplevelser  av  sin introduktion som  nyanställd inom särskilt boende. Frågeställningar i studien är  ?Hur beskriver ungdomsjobbarna den formella introduktionen?? samt ?Beskriver ungdomsjobbarna någon form av informell introduktion och i så fall hur beskriver de den??. Metoden är kvalitativ och datainsamlingen har skett med hjälp av intervjuer. I studien deltog 6 ungdomsjobbare som anställdes inom särskilt boende året 2012 i Umeå kommuns projekt ?ungdomsjobbare?.

Idag blir det allt vanligare och vanligare att företag inför miljöledningssystem. Det görs av flera olika anledningar. Det kan vara ett försök att trygga sin plats på den framtida marknaden eller så kan det vara ett direkt resultat av ett tryck utifrån. Men vad innebär det egentligen att införa ett miljöledningssystem och hur förankras miljöarbetet hos personalen. Det var några av de frågor som dök upp under praktikkursen på Miljövetarprogrammet under våren 2003 vilken gjordes på Danisco Sweden AB.

In schools today, we expect student performances and achievements to be exceptional. Having good reading and writing skills are essential if students want to excel at their school assignments. Students with reading and writing difficulties have to work much harder than their other classmates. Their having to work harder coupled with being teenagers and facing all the uncertainties which are present at that age, these students face the difficult task of trying to find out who they are and who they want to be. In other words, they try to create their own individual identities.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between Health Locus of Control, Exercise habits, Food habits and Self-esteem (Personal self and Physical self) between two groups of student teachers at a university in the south of Sweden. Is health such as exercise, eating and self-esteem something that is controlled by internal or external factors? Student teachers that participated in Physical and Health programme and student teachers that participeted in other programme were investigeted. The participants (N = 160) answered the questionnaire. The Health Locus of Control scale and Tennessee Self-Concept Scale were used.

Nurses in municipal nursing homes have difficult to observe and prevent these problems because they do not participate in the daily caring work. The aim of this study was to illustrate the nurse assistants? reflections about the care they gave people with dementia and constipation. Main questions vas how they became aware of such problems and what they did when someone had problem with constipation.

The purpose of this thesis is to form an idea about the qualitative value and meaning of reading fiction in a psychological perspective and over a lifetime. Seven women, 68-79 years old, were interviewed about their reading habits of fiction in their lifetime. The material is presented as life stories. I use an inter-nordic research project called the SKRIN project which looks upon reading habits from an individualistic and psychological perspective. I also refer to an American study which focus on reading development with roles readers take in different ages of life written by J A Appleyard.
