Can the lack of functional cross-cultural communication among individuals within an international organization be the reason for cultural clashes to occur, and lead to conflict between two cultures within the same organization?Our aim is to try to create a potential model of how cross-cultural problems can be studied, in order to contribute to the solution of the problem. And to examine whether the theories, which form the basis of our model can be applied in reality.The research have assumed from the hermeneutical approach for a holistic view of the problem area. The deductive approach has been used in order to distinguish whether the theories can be applied to reality, and qualitative research method for collecting data.The focus lies within cross-cultural communications, which defines the various cultural factors that can affect organizational culture. Hofstede dimensions and the social structure are mentioned and cultural factors as language and religion.

Kommun och landsting - Vem har mest makt? : en kvalitativ studie om den samverkan som sker mellan dessa organisationer vid vårdplaneringar kring äldre personer i Sverige
This essay?s focus lies on the collaboration that takes place in hospitals and called a care-plan (vårdplanering) between the two organisations: Health-care (landsting) and social-care (kommun). According to the Swedish-law are these organizations responsible for the care of elderly individuals in Sweden. The aim of this essay has been to study closely this collaboration in order to see which partner has the most influencing power.This essay is of a qualitative character, which means that the results that are presented are based on six individual interviews with employees from the two organizations. The employees chosen for this essay all have job experiences from the collaboration that takes place during care-plans in hospitals.One of the main results of this essay has been that the two organizations are not equal collaboration-partners.
Att twittra sig till framgång : En kvalitativ studie om tre PR-byråers strategiska kommunikationsarbete med det sociala mediet twitter
This essay focus on the social media Twitter and how three Swedish PR practitioners view and use communication strategies for this social media. Twitter was created 2006 and is kind of a new channel in the digital world. The micro blog has over these few years attracted 175 million users across the world. In Sweden there is 91 000 registered users and according to a survey, 11 000 of them are active by tweeting once a day.Twitter is highly current and all kinds of people are using the social media, for example, artists, companies and individuals. Twitter is with its highly number of users building a new market for organizations to find their stakeholders.
Lean & Kaizen -dröm eller verklighet? : En kvalitativ studie med kundperspektiv i fokus
This qualitative study involves the implementation of Lean and Kaizen methods in a Swedish service industry. Lean philosophy is based on a method to achieve more with less. In practical terms this means that the use of an organization's resources is improved. The origin of Lean is the Toyota Production System. Now, Kaizen methods give managers and employees a better more efficient system to reach their goals within the organization or company.
Att vara eller icke vara?: En studie om costume play - att tillfälligt bli någon annan
I denna studie har costume play (förkortat cosplay) analyserats i förhållande till identitet. Fortsättningsvis kommer förkortningen cosplay att användas i den här studien. Andra böjningar av ordet kommer också att förekomma som exempelvis cosplayare, som är en person som håller på med cosplay.Idag är det ett medielandskap med deltagarkultur och konsumenten kan även vara producenten. En person som väljer att klä ut sig till en karaktär (vanligtvis från en manga eller anime) kallas det för cosplayare. Deras medierade fantasier har fått blivit verklighet genom cosplaying.Syftet med den här undersökningen är att ta reda på varför personer väljer att tillfälligt bli någon annan genom att cosplaya och hur det påverkar deras individuella identitetsskapande.
Förändringsblindhet på webbsidor
Forskning kring förändringsblindhet har hittills undersökt hur fenomenet gör sig gällande i naturliga situationer och vanliga visuella scener. Denna undersökning syftar till att testa hur förändringsblindhet framträder vid användning av webbsidor samt att undersöka vilka typer av förändringar som är lättare respektive svårare att upptäcka på dessa. 20 studenter testades med datoriserade bildspel utformade i fyra kategorier av förändring. Rensinks flicker paradigm användes som förändringsmetod. Resultaten visade att; det var lättare att upptäcka en förändring som inte består av en bild av en person än en med en bild av en person och det är svårare att lokalisera en förändring på vänster sida än på höger.
Att vara närstående till en patient med ätstörning: Hur sjuksköterskan kan främja delaktighet och bekräfta närstående
Fördjupningsarbetets syfte var att belysa upplevelsen av att vara närstående till en person som lider av ätstörning, samt hur sjuksköterskor kan möjliggöra för närstående att känna delaktighet i omvårdnaden och hur bekräftelse kan användas som vårdhandling för att stärka känslan av delaktighet. I bakgrunden beskrivs ätstörningar och vad det innebär att vara närstående till en person med en psykiatrisk diagnos. Vi valde begreppen bekräftelse och delaktighet som den omvårdnadsteoretiska förankringen eftersom närstående beskrivit att de saknar bekräftelse från vårdpersonal och att de inte känt sig så delaktiga i vården som de önskat. I resultatet framkommer att många närstående hade en känsla av att vara utestängda och bortstötta av vårdpersonal. De upplevde känslor av skuld och maktlöshet.

Sjuksköterskors och läkares delaktighet i kvalitetsutveckling : En fallstudie vid Karlskoga lasarett
The purpose of this master's degree thesis was to develop an understanding of how hospital management, in the case studied, worked to achieve changes in an organization influenced by differing professional cultures. To gain insight into the conditions that may have contributed to nurses and physicians developing appropriate attitudes and behaviours, which may have affected the organization's ability to achieve the Swedish Quality Award 2012. A qualitative single case study was conducted at Karlskoga Hospital, with focus groups as well as individual depth interviews. The results of the case study showed the following conditions provided nurses and physicians the potential to develop appropriate attitudes and behaviours, which may have influenced the hospitals ability to achieve the Swedish Quality Award: Responsibility and influence over the development processes.Participation in management teams and quality development groups as well as individual fields of responsibility.Training programs that have given insights and skills in quality management related to clinical practice.Nurses and physicians as key individuals gave legitimacy to development process, and served as management advisors.Collaboration between all kind of employees and responsibilities.Committed management. .
Tro, Hopp och Tveksamhet : En studie om profil, image och kommunikation för Svenska kyrkan Västerås
What does the Swedish church Västerås stand for today according to the employees and how do they want to profile themselves to the target group? What image and what expectations does the target group have of the Swedish church Västerås? How can the Swedish church Västerås communicate uniform, with the intent to create mutual value with the target group?The purpose of the study is to make recommendations to the Swedish church Västerås for their prospective communication plan by examining their profile and target group's image and expectations of the organization. The study also aims to examine how the Swedish church Västerås can communicate their brand uniform.The study applies a qualitative research with deductive approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with a sample of the employees and focus groups with a sample of the target group.Better match between profile and image means that SkVs employees better understand the organization and can communicate more uniform which leads to a stronger brand identity. If SkV understands what is relevant for their target group, they can reduce the total cost of customer delivered value and thus increase the total value.

This Master´s thesis aims to aquire knowledge about volunteers attitude toward work. It emphasis is on the differences between volunteers and non volunteers. There are four research questions used in order to fulfill the aim in a scientific manner. The essay aims to get in depth knowledge regarding whether or not the respondents feel that they have gained advantages in work life due to the fact that they are involved in volunteer work. One of the pivotal questions is if there is a possibility to see a pattern that binds together the reasons for volunteer work and the attitude toward work.

This thesis takes its starting point in the 27 Chapter 1, section 1 of the Swedish code of judicial procedure, where the following is found:?objects reasonably presumed important to a criminal investigation or taken from a person through a criminal act or subject to criminal forfeiture may be seized?In this thesis we have investigated what kinds of problems occur when the seized object is part of an investigation of IT-related criminality. We have used methodological investigations of Swedish laws, legal usage, and the preliminary work with laws. Further have three interviews been made with different actors affected by or involved in seize of objects. These persons were a police officer, a public prosecutor, and a person whose object has been seized.The result we present is that there exist three kinds of problems related to objects that are seized within the demarcation of this study.

The Swedish healthcare system is characterized by lack of resources and extensive hospital queues. In order to counter these difficulties the Lund University Hospital have introduced Lean Healthcare to the hospital organization.
The purpose of this scientific paper is to study the relationship between the implementation of Lean Healthcare and the experienced motivation among the staff. This essay thereby intends to impart knowledge, which could be used on future implementations of Lean Healthcare at other hospitals.
In order to fulfil the purpose of this essay a case study have been conducted at two wards at the Lund University Hospital in which qualitative research interviews have been the method chosen in order to gather data.
