This essay was written at Södertörn University during the spring semester of 2010, in the field of Business Administration, and more precisely within management and organization. The essay is based on a case study of the management of the staff working at the commuter train stations in Stockholm. The study consists of a number of interviews with the management staff and with the personnel working at the stations, where the aim of the study is to describe how management works within ISS Trafficare AB and what the personnel working at the stations think of it. ISS Trafficare AB is the entrepreneur who runs the commuter train stations in Stockholm by an agreement met with Stockholmståg KB.The study is based on information from the interviews with the personnel and other material from ISS Trafficare AB. Research on the area of management have been used to put data into perspective and to further deepen our analysis and conclusions from the case.The essay shows that the management has tried to implement several changes on the organization in order to provide more service to the travelers.
Det skatterättsliga bosättningsbegreppet i svensk intern rätt
Huruvida en person anses obegränsat eller begränsat skattskyldig i Sverige är grundläggande ur beskattningshänseende eftersom beskattningskonsekvenserna för de två grupperna skiljer sig mycket åt. En person som är obegränsat skattskyldig i Sverige är skattskyldig här för alla sina inkomster oavsett var de kommer ifrån, medan en person som är begränsat skattskyldig bara är skattskyldig för vissa inkomster med särskild anknytning hit.
Eftersom obegränsad skattskyldighet grundas på bosättning utgörs gränsen för den svenska beskattningsrätten av det skatterättsliga bosättningsbegreppet. Detta är grundläggande för fastställandet av en fysisk persons skattskyldighet. För att inte främja skatteflykt är det viktigt att reglerna om skattskyldighet inte är för snävt utformade.
Närståendes upplevelser av att vårda en person som drabbats av stroke: en litteraturstudie
När en person drabbas av sjukdom är det ofta en närstående som tar på sig rollen som vårdare. Syftet med vår litteraturstudie var att beskriva närståendes upplevelser av att vårda en person som drabbats av stroke. Sex vetenskapliga artiklar analyserades med hjälp av manifest kvalitativ innehållsanalys, vilket i resulterade i sex kategorier: Att tappa fotfästet i livet och förlora sin frihet, Att leva med en främling i ett förändrat hem, Att kastas in i en ny roll, Att känna olust, Att ha behov av information och stöd samt Att finna vägar för att hantera situationen. Den nya situationen medförde att livet blev begränsat och förändrades totalt för de närstående. De fick ta på sig en ny roll vilket innebar stora omställningar som orsakade trötthet och utmattning, samt känslor av rädsla och oro.
Prisstrategier : En studie om dynamisk prissättning på Major events
Purpose: The purpose of this Bachelor is to analyze how the organizers of a Major event price their tickets and how these strategies consistent and differs from dynamic pricing. The study also aims to analyze whether there are conditions for dynamic pricing in Major events in the future.Theories: Dynamic pricing - Kimes model, Segmentation, price discrimination, variable ticket pricing.Method: The study used a triangulation where a qualitative interview was combined with quantitative data collection. Primary data was collected through a qualitative approach through an interview with General Secretary Tony Wiréhn and Marketing Director Malin Eldh in the local organization of the IIHF World Championship in Sweden. The quantitative data collection was to collect price information from the games played in the Swedish side of the World Championship organization arrangements.Conclusion: The conclusions that can be drawn are that the organizer of Ice Hockey World Championships today largely applies segmentation and also the second and third degree price discrimination. World Cup organization believes that it has something they call "semi-dynamic pricing", which according to this study involves a variable pricing with dynamic tendencies, then prices on some games adapted based on supply and demand during the sales period.

Castration coverage and attitudes towards a castration program in Lilongwe, Malawi
The aim of this study was to measure the castration coverage and the attitudes among people towards castration in an area in Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi, where a castration program has been running for a few years. Another aim was to review the literature to examine the link between castration coverage and rabies prevalence. Two areas (Area 25 and Area 23) in Lilongwe were studied through standardized household interviews. In Area 25, a non-governmental organization had been castrating dogs weekly to twice weekly for free for 3 years. In Area 23, no official organization had done castrations, and this area therefore acted as a control in the study.
Organisatoriskt lärande genom medarbetare : En studie om hur möjligheter till lärande för medarbetare skapar förutsättningar för organisatoriskt lärande
The purpose of the study is to analyze what conditions the specific company provides employees to enable organizational learning. To clarify the framing of the study a few quastions has been specified to narrow the issu. The questions that has been used are: what opportunities does the company creat to enable organizational learning and how does the emplyees contribute to organizational learning.In the search of knowledge to the previously questions this study becames a qualitative study with an ethnographic approach based on observations and interviews. This method gives the knowledge that makes us understand the actions that takes place in the oraganization and the shared image the oraganization provides. An understanding for the employees and the organization has been achived after compiling the empirical material from observation notes and transcripts from the interviewsIn the work whit the analysis the empirical material based on transcripts and observation notes has been the main material.
I nöd och lust, tills döden skiljer oss åt : Sexualitet hos ensamstående män och kvinnor inom palliativ vård
I föreliggande studie undersöktes samtal där tre personer som stammar deltog i interaktioner med olika deltagarstrukturer; med en annan person som stammar, med en närstående person samt med en person i en institutionell kontext. Studien syftade till att analysera likheter och skillnader mellan samtal med olika deltagarstrukturer, med avseende på fenomenen samkonstruktion, blickkontakt vid samkonstruktion och uppbackning. Sammanlagt medverkade tolv personer, i totalt nio dyader. De nio samtalen, som var mellan 35 och 55 minuter långa, spelades in och analyserades enligt principer från Conversation Analysis (CA). Även beräkningar utfördes på fenomenen verbala uppbackningar, samkonstruktion och blickkontakt vid samkonstruktion.
Examining the social component of sustainable forest management in Prince Albert and Vilhelmina Model Forests
Due to the forest industry downsizing, many communities in rural forest regions in Canada
and Sweden are facing problems to survive. In order to create community sustainability,
resilience and well-being in remote forest regions, the view on the forest resources has
shifted towards multiple use, through the concept of sustainable forest management (SFM).
Beside the economic and ecological elements of sustainability, the social forest values are
needed, contributing to the human well-being, local participation, stakeholder collaboration,
human rights and cultural connection.
In this thesis the embodiment of the social component of SFM within Prince Albert Model
Forest (Canada), and Vilhelmina Model Forest (Sweden) will be examined. Being partners
and facing similar challenges as rural boreal forest regions, the two model forests are compared
through analysis of projects and activities, conducted interviews and organization
documents.
Looking at projects mentioned as successful by the interviewees, they all have elements
from the social values of SFM. The direction can be explained by the introduction of the
Forest Communities Program in Canada, demanding the Model Forests to work towards
community stability and resilience, the Model Forest organization concept itself and the
way global focus are increasing around social forest values. In the future, it may be important
that the role of the MFs enable some kind of political authorization and legitimacy in
order to improve conflict solving and indigenous rights equality.
Könsförvirring : En narrativ studie av normbrytande genus i barndomen
This essay deals with non-normative gender expressions during childhood. I?m using narrative theory and methods to analyze autobiographical narratives. My questions are:What strategies does the non-normative person use to deal with his otherness?Using the methodological analysis tool ?turning point?, where are the turning points in the narratives? Are their any common turning points in the various narratives?Where is the responsibility placed in the narratives for that someone does not fit in by the adults/ staff at the school/kindergarten- on the non-normative person or at the surroundings?The experiences are interpreted through theories and concepts from queer theory and gender theory.
Kuratorers personliga upplevelser av stress och coping på ett akutsjukhus i Stockhol
AbstractTitle: Welfare officers personal experiences of stress and coping in an emergency hospital in StockholmThe purpose with this study was to describe how welfare officers in an emergency hospital experienced stress in their workplace and what coping strategies they used. Through qualitative interviews the welfare officers thoughts and experiences were examined. The result showed that welfare officers experienced some stress at the workplace; this was related to lacks in the organization, heavy workload and short of time. The most commonly used coping strategies were social support, physical training, short breaks during the day to handle the stress at work. The conclusions of this study was that factors that reduces stress for welfare officers who work at emergency hospitals was a functioning organization and management, the ability to control and at some levels effect their own work, to have guidance and other opportunities to ventilate with co-workers.
Person-till-person-utlåning som finansieringsform för små- och nyföretagare
Syfte: Syftet med undersökningen är att beskriva och analysera finansieringsformen P2P-utlåning, dess bildande och utveckling samt utvärdera hur den har fungerat för små- och nyföretagare.Problemformulering: Studien undersöker hur finansieringsformen person-till-person-utlåning via Internet uppstod. Vidare redogörs för utvecklingen på P2P-plattformen Lending Club sedan låneförmedlingens start 2007 fram till 2011. Slutligen undersöks vad som kännetecknar låntagarna på Lending Club som ansöker om lån till små och nya företag samt hur de presterat gällande deras återbetalningsförmåga.Teoretiskt ramverk: Studiens teoretiska ramverk utgörs av framförallt vetenskapliga artiklar vilka behandlar det finansiella gapet, informations-asymmetrier och kreditbedömning. Vidare återges en bakgrunds-teckning över studier gjorda kring social utlåning och P2P-utlåning.Slutsatser: Studien kommer fram till att P2P-utlåning via Internet har sitt ursprung i social utlåning och möjliggjorts genom bland annat teknologisk utveckling av kreditvärderings-verktyg. Lending Clubs utveckling har gått från mer av ett socialt nätverk till att idag likna mer en finansiell intermediär med kreditvärdiga låntagare och institutionella investerare.
Upplevelser av att vara närstående till en person med palliativ cancerdiagnos
Bakgrund: Varje år får cirka 54 000 svenskar diagnosen cancer. När en person
drabbas av cancer och får en palliativ diagnos inverkar det stort på de
närståendes situation. Ångest och oro är många gånger större hos de närstående
än hos den sjuke själv. Det är tungt att som närstående stå vid sidan om och se
sin kära ha plågsamma symtom. I sjukvården hamnar närstående ofta i bakgrunden
och allt fokus läggs på den sjuke.

Benchmarking - En drivkraft för organisationers kvalitetsutveckling?
Benchmarking is an established method of working which is often used in order to develop the quality of the organization. However, almost 70% of the organizations with benchmarking fail due to the lack of planning and structuring of the benchmarking exercise. Maintenance sections in the paper and pulp industry are one of those who have decided to conduct benchmarking. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to gain knowledge of how the maintenance sections in the paper and pulp industry deliberately structure and plan to use benchmarking as a driving force for quality development in the maintenance sections.The study is a hermeneutic case study. Telephone interviews and document analysis have been used as data acquisition methods.The results show that there is a lack of both planning and structuring in the benchmarking process, and lack of management commitment for quality improvements within industrial maintenance.
