This essay deals with the principle of surprise warfare and its development as well as the adaptation of military action that had to be made to surprise the opponent in the modern era.The concept of surprise is divided into its components in order to clarify what is required to implement a surprising maneuver, to understand the complex concept and form a theoretical framework for gathering facts in the case study.Development and adaption are demonstrated by a comparative case study where Pearl Harbor illustrates an example of historical surprise and Operation Desert Storm illustrates a modern surprise. The product will then be analyzed in order to detect the development and how military conduct is forced to adapt in order to carry out a surprising maneuver. The results shows that the military action of performing a surprise attack has had a major development and is now carried out in a different stage of the attack..

The purpose of this study was to investigate how two students at intermediate level in reading and writing disabilities and two special education teachers perceive the use of assistive tools in school. The questions used to answer the purpose was how assistive tools are used based on students´ perceptions, the purposes for which assistive tools are used based on special education teachers´ perceptions, what opportunities and/or barriers pupils and special education teachers experiences with assistive tools and how it works when assistive tools are implemented based on students´ and special education teachers´ perceptions. Data were collected by interviews. The results show that the assistive tools are mainly used for writing assignments and to ?read-with-ears?, primarily to facilitate the learning process in the classroom.

Tidigare forskning har visat att svenska stridspiloter har uppvisat en anmärkningsvärt hög förekomst av depressions- och ångestsymptom, vilket både riskerar att minska effektiviteten hos de svenska luftstridskrafterna och kan innebära en fara för flygsäkerheten.Detta arbete syftar till att underlätta beslutsfattandet kring problemet genom att skapa ett bättre underlag för att förstå de bakomliggande orsakerna. Studien undersöker när under karriären symptomen uppkommer samt jämför mellan olika pilotkategorier för att skapa en bättre förståelse för hur problemen uppstår och därmed vilka åtgärder som kan vidtas för att förhindra detta.En kvantitativ enkätundersökning användes för att undersöka förekomsten av depressions- och ångestsymptom bland svenska strids-, transport- och helikopterpiloter under deras första fem utbildningsår. Enkäten baserades på HADS-skalan och skickades till 158 personer, varav hälften var piloter.Resultatet av studien indikerar att den höga förekomsten av depressions- och ångestsymptom uppkommer senare i stridspilotkarriären. Stridspiloterna uppvisade dessutom en lägre förekomst av depressions- och ångestsymptom än en icke-flygande kontrollgrupp. Dessa resultat pekar i sin tur mot att miljöfaktorerna spelar en större roll än de genetiska faktorerna vid uppkomsten av symptomen.

The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the music downloading service Musikwebb regarding its indexing and retrieval effectiveness. This was done by performing various kinds of search in the system. The outcome of these searches were then analysed according to the criteria specificity, precision, recall, exclusivity and authority control. The study showed that Musikwebb had several flaws regarding its retrieval effectiveness. The most prominent cases were the criteria exclusivity and specificity.

I vårt arbete utgick vi från följande frågeställningar: ? Hur ser coachers arbete med långtidsarbetslösa ut? ? Vad anser coacher vara de avgörande faktorerna för att en långtidsarbetslös ska få ett arbete? - En del coacher anser att de har lyckats få ut förhållandevis många långtidsarbetslösa i arbete. Hur skiljer sig deras arbetsmetoder från de övriga coachernas? För att få svar på våra frågeställningar använde vi oss av kvalitativ metod. Totalt ingick sju coacher i vår undersökning.

Syftet med vårt arbete är att beskriva vilka eventuella skillnader som finns mellan elever som går i hälsonyckelprofilerade klasser och andra vanliga klasser i deras beteende när det gäller hälsa. Genom FMS (Fysisk, mental och Social kompetensutveckling) har vi fått en inblick hur lärarna på gymnasieskolan jobbar med eleverna. Vidare har det gett oss en uppfattning hur vi som blivande idrottslärare kan andvända detta i undervisningen. Vi har använt oss av en enkätundersökning för att ta reda på elevernas inställning till hälsa och medvetande om hälsans betydelse. Dagens samhälle är på många sätt ett stressat samhälle som påverkar oss negativt på ett eller annat sätt.

Syftet med denna fallstudie var att undersöka betydelsen av idrott och fysisk aktivitet för ungdom med funktionsnedsättning. En ungdom och hans mamma intervjuades. Datamaterialet analyserades med kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Fyra kategorier framkom: att vara del av en gemenskap, att känna sig kompetent och utnyttja sin potential, att ha hälsa, glädje och välbefinnande, och att skapa en grund att bygga vidare på. Kategorierna bildade temat: det goda livet ? nu och i framtiden.

Personal assistants ' descriptions of their own professional role are usually removed for the benefit of users ' description of the profession. The purpose of this study is to investigate how the assistants perceive their profession by providing assistants a possibility to talk about their experiences of the profession. Data has been collected by twelve interviews with active working personal assistants aged 22-57 years. Assistants interviewed have different experiences and working with people with various disabilities. The method used is a qualitative method with a narrative analysis method, where the twelve interviews have been merged into four fictional stories.

Konkret undersöks huruvida någon skillnad i vilka inkomster eller tillgångar som används till olika typer av utgifter kan påvisas. Kontona som vid operationaliseringen valdes för att beskriva finansieringen av ett köp var ?regelbunden inkomst?, ?plötslig inkomst?, ?sparade pengar? och ?avbetalning?.

The Volvo Trucks plant in Umeå is a highy complex manufacturing facility where the same production line handles a variety of different models. This require flexible and agile processes with high quality standards. This thesis studies the flow of material through a production line and how Volvo can use their existing manufacturing monitoring system to optimize the flow of materials.The goal with the thesis is to identify eventual problems with the flow of materials and to deliver a few proposals on how the production line can improve its productivity. The theory of LEAN, Just-In-Time and Supply Chain Management serves as the scientific reference to this project. By analyzing the flow of material, performing interviews and observing the processes a few problems are identified.

This thesis is focused on what impact stall confinement has on a horse?s mental and physical welfare. It was of great interest to get a gathered picture of how Swedish horseowners had experienced having their horses in stall confinement. A survey study was conducted to achieve this. The survey included twelve questions which for example investigated the horses? age at the time of stall confinement, the length of stall confinement and their sexes.

BACKGROUND: Today?s societal changes, including high rate of change and increasing information flows, are increasing the demand on the individual mental capacity. It becomes increasingly difficult to analytically process all the different dilemmas and everyday decisions as individuals have a limited mental capacity available to make these decisions. Thus, it has been suggested that ego-depleted relies more heavily on intuition, which is less burdensome, when making decision. However little is known about to what extent intuitive decisions differ from analytic.

The overall aim with this study was to explore the understanding of how nursing staff - at a service flat in the county of Gävleborg, is related to the residents with intellectual disabilities, with regard to the residents' health. Five personal research interviews were conducted with nursing staff in a sheltered housing. The survey was based on a qualitative method with semi-structured interviews. Five nursing staff aged 27-57 were participated in this investigation. The analysis was conducted, by using a thematic approach.My overall findings show that Nursing staff have different roles to play depending on the situation in their relationship with the residents.

When an organisation is going through a work of change, it is highly important that both management and employees has a healthy communication in order to make everybody feel involved. It is then important to be observant for both the managements and employees thoughts and ideas.This study has been performed on an upper secondary school which is performing a work of change. The change has divided the employees in three different groups. One, which thinks the change have evolved the organisation to something better. The second group of people means that it is preventing individual development of competence.

Trädgårdsterapi brukar beskrivas som grön rehabilitering och har kompletterat institutionaliserad vård långt tillbaka i tiden. Naturen har bevisats främja mental återhämtning. Denna studie fokuserar på vinteraspekter, med utgångspunkten om att de obefogat har lämnats i bakgrunden. En fråga är om grön verkligen är den rätta benämningen på en rehabilitering som innefattar en natur som skiftar under årets lopp? Med undantag för städse- och vintergröna växter är den framförallt inte grön vintertid. Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att identifiera eventuella återhämtande faktorer som finns vintertid.
