The purpose of this master?s thesis is to investigate how librarians approach to the multicultural collection development and which methods they use in providing library materials in minority languages. The questions to be answered are: which methods the libraries use when purchasing library materials in minority languages, how the respondents experience that the minority user groups needs are met in the library and how the multicultural competence of the staff is used in the libraries. For this purpose the qualitative interviews with 6 librarians in Gothenburg are conducted, mainly from the libraries in the immigrant-dense parts of the city, while the study being concentrated on 6 language groups of library users. The study?s theoretical framework is based on theories of multiculturalism, culture, identity and bilingualism.

Denna uppsats har som syfte att, genom kvalitativa intervjuer, belysa fem kvinnors intresse för spel (dator- och tv-spel) och hur dessa kvinnor i sin tur talar om spel som en del av sin identitet. FrÄgorna som stÀlls till empirin handlar om vilka erfarenheter informanterna har av spel som intresse och vilka slutsatser om deras spelande man kan dra av detta. Vidare fÄr vi en inblick i hur det normala ser ut inom spelvÀrlden, utifrÄn informanternas berÀttelser. Sist men inte minst sÄ stÀlls frÄgan vad förestÀllningarna om det normala inom spelvÀrlden fÄr för konsekvenser för informanternas identitet, och dÀrmed vad detta leder till gÀllande de möjligheter och begrÀnsningar som dessa kvinnor stÀlls inför, i relation till sitt intresse och den vÀrld som omger det. Uppsatsen visar pÄ att det inte bara finns en norm för hur en kvinna ska vara som Gamer utan det finns ocksÄ en normativ femininitet som man bör förhÄlla sig till.

The purpose of this study was to identify reading strategies used by high school students when reading textbooks and school-related material. Any differences in reading strategies between Biology and English were also of importance. A study sample of 62 students from three different high schools in Sweden participated in the study and were asked to fill out a survey questionnaire. Eight students from this sample were also interviewed. The findings of this study show that students use a number of different reading strategies of which metacognitive and sociocultural factors play a crucial part.

I vÄr gestaltning anvÀnder vi oss av dalahÀsten och folkdrÀkten som symboler för svensken.

This Master of Science thesis is conducted at the faculty Integrated Product Development at theRoyal Institute of Technology and in cooperation with EssNet Interactive AB, both situated inStockholm. In the report the final results and the road to get there is described as well as thedesign process and how the process is used to obtain the goal of this thesis.The author of this thesis has developed the design and the function of an interactive videoterminal (IVT) and by using semantics created an encouraging gaming design. The projectspurpose was to change the anonymous withheld shape and produce an experience of gamingmachine that has been absent. The work was aimed to answer the question: How does oneproceed to develop the IVT and by using semantics creating an understanding of gamingmachine?In general the author wants to show that small changes, with the help of design and its signals,can completely change the overall picture of a product.

The essay is an effort to examine and define three examples of liminal dance performances through an aesthetic, hermeneutic and semiotic analysis. The examples are three dance or liminal performances, made by three different choreographers and performed at ?Moderna Dansteatern? and ?Dansens Hus? in Stockholm during September and October 2005. In the effort to determine the liminal and cross-over in the performances, the analysis focus on aspects such as: the character of the work, choreography, the use of scenery, stage light, requisites, conception of place and interior room, the use of costume and mask, the use of different media as text, pictures, film, and music or not using any these, and the interaction with the audience. The analysis depends on a historical background and the use of literature in the subject.

Följande undersökning behandlar uppbyggnaden av en CV-film med utgÄngspunkt i sociologen Erving Goffmans teori om identitet och sjÀlvrepresentation samt filmteoretikern David Bordwells teori om narratologi. Goffmans teori har anvÀnts för att ta reda pÄ vad som ska framstÀllas i filmen medan Bordwells teori applicerats pÄ frÄgan om hur filmen ska framstÀllas. Inom det teoretiska ramverket finns Àven Stuart Halls teori om representation för att kunna belysa teorierna av Goffman och Bordwell utifrÄn ett gemensamt perspektiv. Fokusgruppmetoden har anvÀnts för att kvalitativt samla information om vad en CV-film bör kommunicera till skillnad frÄn ett skriftligt CV. Samt hur den bör utformas för att vara sÄ anvÀndbar som möjligt. Resultatet visade att filmen inte bör vara lÀngre Àn 2-3 minuter för att behÄlla publikens intresse.

En fungerade erfarenhetsÄterföring leder till effektivare och lönsammare processer. Det Àr isynnerhet viktigt för Skanska och Ikeas industrialiserade bostadskoncept BoKlok, dÀr sammatyp av arbeten stÀndigt upprepar sig. Skanska har ett verktyg för erfarenhetsÄterföring somde kallar NormallÀgen och beskriver olika arbetsmoment i text och video. Arbetet pÄgÄrmed att utvidga innehÄllet för NormallÀgen och i dagslÀget finns inga för markarbeten inomBoKlok.Syftet Àr att undersöka hur erfarenhetsÄterföringen fungerar idag och vad som fungerarmindre bra i projekten. Finns det erfarenheter som kan anvÀndas som underlag till framtidaNormallÀgen.Arbetet bygger pÄ intervjuer, litteraturstudier och information frÄn Skanska och BoKloksintranÀt.Resultaten visar att den erfarenhetsÄterföring som sker idag oftast Àr muntlig mellanarbetsledningen pÄ olika projekt och dÀr kunskapen Àr personrelaterad.

The purpose of this paper was to investigate the foremost teachers thinking of computers in teaching, how they work practically with computers as a tool, and if it is reflected in the students' school performance. To carry out this study, I used qualitative interviews as a method and I have interviewed four teachers where two works at the high school and two in upper secondary school. Both schools use computers in teaching as a supplementary tool for teaching materials. All teachers have similar ideas regarding what purpose one should use the computer and in which way, but the important thing is that the teachers and students receive an introductory course in how to use computers. Educators agree that this approach is and can promote students' language and knowledge regardless of the subject.My informants have come up with own methods that they use in the digital classroom including Skype, YouTube, Facebook and flippedclassroom where one can learn from other educators working.

ABSTRACTThe aim of this study is to analyze the aspects which have formed music-students? interest to perform music in various ways. Two of these aspects are family and school. Furthermore, -the study analyzes what music itself, and its performance mean in these students? social and personal lives.

The purpose of this project was to produce signal relay stations that could receive information via 2.4 GHz radio and relay the information to a designated target station. If a relay station was located outside of signal range for the target station it was supposed to utilize other relay stations to transfer the information to the target station, so called multi-hop.The would-be application of the relay stations was orienteering. When an orienteer punches a checkpoint the signal stations would relay information of who punched the control, when it was punched and the checkpoint that was punched to the speaker tower in the goal area.The work resulted in prototypes which fulfilled the statement of purpose and was tested at an orienteering competition with satisfactory results. The performance of the prototypes was tested and found adequate for the would-be application..

The aim of this paper is to examine venture capital in football player contracts in Sweden. This is a phenomena that have existed in Sweden since 1999 when the company DjurgÄrden fotboll AB was founded, since then eight other companies have been started. These companies form an alliance with a football club and invest in player contracts. These contracts have high risk since it is valued by the performance of the contracted player. The venture capital firms have no formal control over their investments and they are showing negative results.

In 2010, SAS received the "On time performance service" award by Flightstats. This award was an affirmation of long-term work, both in projects and as an ongoing process, which the company sought to systematically improve punctuality on its flights. The extent to which SAS followed the values and the underlying theories of the cornerstone model for total quality management was the main issue in this essay. Whether there are conditions for the company to get even further by working in other ways was also investigated. In addition, the importance of punctuality in relation to customer satisfaction was discussed.

Humanity?s increasing consumption has resulted in an increasing use of resources and thus an increasing environmental impact. Hence, the environment has become an important political issue. The increasing demands from stakeholders on companies to "green" their products and work internally with environmental issues makes it more and more important for enterprises to address these issues. Small enterprises constitute the majority of all enterprises and therefore they have a significant impact on environmental problems.
