Operationssjuksköterskors beskrivningar av att arbeta med WHO:s checklista för säkerhet vid operationer

Background:In Sweden there are several thousand surgical procedures performed every day. The treatment is expected to be efficient, profitable and safe. Despite that, complications occur in 3-16 % of the surgical procedures. To prevent this, WHO has developed a surgical safety checklist containing safety issues to give the surgery team an opportunity to a last control that everything has been properly done. The profession of the surgical nurse focuses mainly on patient safety especially regarding hygiene and sterility.Aim: The aim of the study was to investigate and describe the perceptions of the perioperative nurses regarding WHO: s surgical safety checklist.Method:To test the suitability of the method a pilot study was performed where tree operating room nurses were interviewed and the data was analyzed using qualitative content analysis.Results: Four categories emerged; Increased patient safety, enhanced team spirit, good planning, stronger professional role.Discussion: The result from the study showed positive perceptions regarding the surgical safety checklist, a fact known from earlier research.Conclusion: The results of the pilot study showed that surgical nurses had good support in their work when the surgical safety checklist was used..

Leadership is important in the health promotion work when to get the collaborators motivated and involved in the health care program. The aim of the cross-sectional study was to investigate the collaborators opinion about the managers? pedagogical role in the health promotion work at Centralsjukhuset Kristianstad.

Barns Uppfattningar om Stjärnorna och Solen : En undersökning med 4-5-åringar

Denna studie visar vad 4-5-åringar har för uppfattningar om stjärnorna och solen, vad de tror att stjärnorna och solen är för något och vad de har för tankar om fenomen kring dem. Genomförandet av studien bygger på kvalitativa intervjuer i samband med att barnen målar. Metoden har gjort det möjligt för barnen att uttrycka sina egna tankar. Resultatet visar att det finns många uppfattningar inom området hos barn 4-5 år. En del uppfattningar är realistiska, en del fiktiva.

I dagens samhälle kan vi se en allt starkare trend i riktning mot internationalisering och globalisering. Genom att det har blivit lättare att förflytta sig över nationsgränserna har detta öppnat dörrar för såväl privatpersoner som företag. I och med detta har många företag och organisationer fått anpassa sig till, lära sig att förstå och hantera kulturell mångfald. I globala företag är det inte ovanligt att man som manager eller ledare arbetar tillsammans med eller leder anställda med annan nationell kulturell bakgrund än sin egen. Detta kan ibland leda till missförstånd och merjobb, men bidrar även till dynamik och inspiration på arbetsplatsen.Vi genomförde en kvalitativ undersökning som grundade sig på tre djupgående intervjuer med managers på olika nivåer på ett multinationellt callcenter i Wien.

This essay begins with a literature study of the different propagation methods for roses, and a survey of the factors affecting the rooting of cuttings in general and rose cuttings in particular. The main part of the essay consists of a practical study of the rooting of rose cuttings. I have chosen to examine how the time of year when the cuttings are taken, and the position of the cuttings influence the rooting. Three different cultivars were used as mother plants; ?Maria Lisa? and two Burnet roses; ?King of Scots? and ?Poppius?. The mother plants were container grown ?King of Scots? and ?Maria Lisa?, and outdoor grown ?Poppius? and ?Maria Lisa?.

Cefskap och familjeliv - en kvalitativ studie om kvinnliga chefer i socialt arbete

This essay is a qualitative study whose aim is to see how to find a good balance between family life and managership. The result could give concrete proposals on how help can be designed to prospective female managers. The study is based on interviews with eight female managers. The interviews have been inspired by the narrative approach with the focus on how these women have tried to find a balance between management and family life and which obstacles they faced and the support they have had. The results of the study has shown that the support that the woman has been given by their spouse / partner has been one of the best and most important support for her to full fill her mission as being a manager as well as a mother.

Muntlig färdighet ? lärares uppfattningar om metoder för lärande och bedömning :   En studie av sju lärares uppfattningar om bedömning av muntlig färdighet i språk

My aim is to find out about teachers? perceptions of methods concerning learning and assessment of oral proficiencies. My questions are: What perceptions are there among teachers concerning assessment of oral proficiencies? How do teachers describe their ways of promoting and assessing oral proficiency? In order to answer my questions and obtain data I have accomplished two focus groups interviews with seven language teachers. The result shows that teachers are concerned with several factors regarding assessment of oral proficiency.

Nätmobbning : Skolkuratorernas kunskaper och handlingsutrymme gällande nätmobbning

The purpose of this study is to understand the knowledge of the school counselor and their room for manoeuvre regarding cyberbullying among students. We have used a qualitative method, which consists of eight semi-structured interviews with six middle school student counselors and two high school student counselors, in a middle-sized municipality in Sweden. Our study showed that the school counselors have limited knowledge about cyberbullying due to the fast development of the internet, and limited time in their work. The limited knowledge affects the school counselor?s way of work, and how they use their room for manoeuvre on cyberbullying.

Vobb - familjevänligt eller företagsvänligt?

Work gets more seamless and the demand on workers increases because of changes in the labour market. Studies show benefits for workers and companies if the employee achieves a balance between work and family, a way to facilitate it is family-friendly policies. A study done by Unionen shows that three out of four white collar workers choose to vobba (working and caring for a sick child), which blurs the boundaries between work and family. Research on flexibility, organisational culture and gender structures shows how these aspects affect the balance between work and family. This is a study where seven white collar workers (three men) that vobbar and two managers (one man) were interviewed.

In this thesis, I discuss the impact Swedish national culture may have on Swedish diplomats. This is a qualitative study and I have used theories from studies of international negotiations to compare the oppositional results of those scientists with my interview material. With the help of my interview material from seven Swedish diplomats and five foreign diplomats I have compared their perceptions of Swedish culture, Swedish diplomats and their thoughts about the existence of an international diplomatic culture with well known sceientists of international negotiations. My main question is whether there is an international diplomatic subculture, without any national impact, or not. The mission is to base the thesis with earlier science and then compare and contrast with my interview material.

Att få arbete och privatliv att gå ihop : Hur kvinnliga mellanchefer upplever balans mellan arbete och privatliv

Möjligheten till att uppnå balans mellan arbete och privatliv antas i framtiden bli en allt viktigare fråga och i allt högre grad påverka individen i hennes val av arbetsgivare. Studiens syfte utformade författarna tillsammans med Halmstad kommun vilka har märkt av en svårighet att rekrytera yngre kompetenta chefer och därför önskar bli mer attraktiv som arbetsgivare. Syftet med studien är att öka förståelsen för hur kvinnliga chefer mitt i livet upplever balans i livet och vad arbetsgivaren, Halmstad kommun, kan erbjuda för att de skall uppnå balans. Undersökningen är av kvalitativ karaktär och till grund för studien låg åtta djupintervjuer med kvinnliga mellanchefer. Enbart kvinnor valdes ut till studien eftersom kvinnor utöver sitt lönearbete traditionellt sett även antas utföra det mesta av hushållsarbetet.

The aim of the present paper was to see why a recommended course of action is not always followed in the way it is supposed to. The paper deals with a new method (SFA-metoden) used by The Social Insurance Agency in working with sick-listed people. Aspects that are elaborated on are local effects of the method at its introduction, case managers work conditions, and control of the implementation of the method. Two different methods of investigation have been employed. On the one hand, previous reports on the method have been analysed, and, on the other hand, two focus groups interviews, one consisting of case managers´ working with the method, and one constituted by their supervisors have been carried out.The results have been analysed in accordance with, on the one hand, the theory of street level bureaucrats and, on the other hand, certain concepts applied in the new institutionalism.

Nivå: Kandidatuppsats Författare: Magnus Svensson Utgivningsår: 2012 Handledare: Jonas Lundsten Då tidigare forskning inte fokuserat så mycket på ledares uppfattningar av vad som motiverar medarbetarna, fann vi chansen att göra en studie om hur ledarna på Skånes universitetssjukhus (SUS) uppfattar hur de jobbar med motivationsfrågor inom den egna organisationen. Syftet med undersökningen är att, med utgångspunkt i ledarskapet som chefskap, undersöka hur anställda med chefsbefattning inom SUS uppfattar sitt ledarskap med anknytning till vad de tror motiverar medarbetarna inom den egna organisationen . Vi har med en kvalitativ forskningsansats och åtta stycken semi-strukturerade intervjuer identifierat fem teman; kommunikation, delaktighet, anpassning drivkraft och struktur, som cheferna anser vara viktiga motivationsaspekter, och dessutom funnit att dessa uppfattningar om ledarskapet följer ovanstående gemensamma mönster. Vår studie visar på att de uppfattar ledarskapet som att verka för och tillsammans med sina medarbetare mot de gemensamma verksamhetsmål som satts upp.

This paper aims to describe the geographical changes of Swedish international aid politics since 2007, which was the year the new aid reform of decreasing collaborating countries, came up. To decrease the number of aid receiving countries due to efficiency is not a new idea within Swedish aid politics, but Sweden received criticism from the (DAC) Development Assistance Committee, saying Sweden was active in too many countries, and the government established a policy to decrease the amount of countries given aid.
