Vetenskaplig undersökning av mönster i sömlösa texturer

Detta arbete undersöker hur applikationen av vetenskapliga teorier inom visuell perception, gestaltpsykologi och färglära kan påverka uppkomsten av oönskade mönster i sömlösa texturer och om detta kan ge en grafiker en bättre förståelse för hur man kan undvika dessa oönskade mönster i sömlösa texturer.För att undersöka detta så skapades tre texturer med tre varianter vardera. I texturvarianterna applicerades de tidigare nämnda teorierna för att motverka respektive framhäva uppkomsten av oönskade mönster.Nio kvalitativa intervjuer genomfördes där informanterna fick se samtliga texturer och deras texturvarianter och sedan svara på frågor. Svaren analyserades och jämfördes med de tidigare nämnda teorierna. Samtliga informanter påverkades av applikationen av de vetenskapliga teorierna, men de uppfattade upprepningen på olika sätt beroende på hur ofta de spelade datorspel.Anledningen till att informanterna uppfattade upprepningen i texturerna olika är något som skulle vara intressant att undersöka i framtiden..

Borta bra, men hemma bäst? : En studie om ledarskap i en interkulturell kontext

The aim of this thesis is to create an understanding about how and to what extent a Swedish expatriate manager needs to adapt his/her leadership in accordance with the culture of the host country. Thus shall different managers? perceptions of experienced management overseas be studied. To accomplish our aim, three different problems have been designed. These are as follows: In what way does the manager?s earlier experiences and knowledge about expatriation affect her or his leadership in a new cross-cultural context? How does the culture of the host country affect the expatriate manager?s leadership? How does the expatriate manager handle contradictory demands: that is differences in expectations from subordinates and the higher management? We have chosen to use an abductive approach in order to do a qualitative study and we have therefore conducted eight case studies to create a foundation for distinguishing patterns.The case studies are based on eight Swedish managers with experience from expatriation. The theoretical framework is structured upon three main themes including; knowledge and skills a global leader needs to possess, the relation between the leader and subordinates, and contradictory demands.

Store Image Perceptions in International Retailing: an Empirical Comparison of IKEA?s

It has been found that customers in the home market perceive the retailer?s store image more positively than customers in the host market, even though this study has found that theretailer?s store image is generally perceived very positively by customers in both examined markets. In addition, this thesis has found that there is a significant difference in how IKEA?smanagement and customers perceive its store image. It can also be concluded that IKEA management perceived store image more positively than customers.

This study is aimed to describe how consumers perceive sustainability reporting in the food industry and if the application level of the GRI framework has an impact on how consumers perceive sustainability reports. Consumer perception is described in the GRI principles and the basis is the ICA and Coop's sustainability reports, which are two of Sweden's largest food company.

Att arbeta med konflikthantering : implementering och undersökning av en form av fokusgruppsamtal i skolan

I have chosen an action research approach for this essay. I want to incorporate a method of conflict management in the work of the personnel at a school and also discuss their thoughts and experience in conflict management. I wanted to incorporate modern knowledge about constructive conflict management for everyday use and I stress that if we can evolve these skills among the personnel in schools then we have a better chance of helping children with deviant behavior which often end up in conflict because of it. This will also help all the other children and personnel to manage conflict situations in a better way. I want to introduce a new way of thinking about conflict management which in many ways is different from how it is today. Briefly the method which I advocate revolves around paying attention to every ones basic needs and says that everyone can win and no one has to loose. he main purpose of this essay has been to find out if focus group conversations is a viable method for improving conflict management in the school system. Several of the participants has in their evaluations written that it was a rewarding and interesting way to work.

Riskkapitalbolags påverkan på styrning i sina portföljbolag: En studie om utveckling av styrsystem i svenska Venture Capital finansierade företag.

The aim of this study is to investigate which management control mechanisms evolve in companies that receive funding from Venture Capital companies and why the management control systems evolve in the way that they do. A case study was performed on three Swedish high technology companies, that all received funding from Venture Capital companies for the first time in 2006. Merchant?s framework, defining all management control mechanisms as either, results control, action control or personnel control, was used to structure the study. Results show that the companies that received Venture Capital all increased the use of management control mechanisms within results control, action control and personnel control.

Förpackningens kulturella symboler- en kvalitativ studie om symbolernas inverkan vid attitydformation

Vårt syfte är att skapa förståelse för hur kulturella symboler på förpackningar påverkar konsumentens attityder till produkten. Detta gör vi genom att undersöka hur symboler och förpackningar uppfattas och vilka tankar och känslor som dessa kan förmedla till konsumenten.Vi har använt oss av ett hermeneutiskt angreppssätt och en öppen ansats. Vi har genomfört en kvalitativ undersökning med 15 livsmedelskonsumenter i åldrarna 20-65 år. Dels har vi använt oss av ett projektivt associationstest för att undersöka hur symbolerna i sig uppfattas av konsumenten. Vi har också använt oss av ostrukturerade djupintervjuer där symbolerna och förpackningarna diskuterats.

Döva och normalhörandes bedömningar av manipulerade illusionsbilder

Abstract The present study examined if early deaf people and people with severe hearing loss perceive visual information differently than hearing people. An experiment was conducted with eight deaf participants and eight participants with normal hearing. The participants were between the ages of 18-74 years. The participants were asked to look at fifteen different images portraying manipulated illusions, and then assess if the images were of the same size. Subsequently another image depicting a different illusion with a face hidden in it was presented to the participants.
