Background: Communication allows people to gain understanding of themselves and their surroundings, which is a prerequisite for good health. The nurse may in her communication help patients develop a feeling that they are not alone in their situation. If the patients cannot express themselves and make themselves understood, it can lead the patients to feel left out which emphasizes the suffering at having aphasia. Aim: The aim of this study was to identify the components which affect nurse?s communication with patients with aphasia.

SAMMANFATTNINGBakgrund: Enligt hälso- och sjukvårdslagen ska vården tillgodose patientens behov av trygghet, bygga på respekt för patienten, främja goda kontakter mellan patient och personal och tillgodose kontinuitet och säkerhet i vården. Forskning inom psykiatrisk vård har undersökt hur patienter uppfattar dessa områden. Denna forskning har resulterat i att Sverige har infört en nationell satsning för att mäta patienternas uppfattning om den vård de har fått. Syfte: Syftet är att undersöka patienters uppfattning om vården på en allmänpsykiatrisk heldygnsavdelning. Metod: En enkät bestående av frågor med skattningsskala eller fasta svarsalternativ gavs till 25 inneliggande patienter på en svensk heldygnsvårdsavdelning. Enkäten besvarades av 14 patienter vilket gav en svarsfrekvens på 56 %. Svaren har förts in i programvaran Exel och analyserats med utgångspunkt från kategorierna bemötande, information, personcentrerad vård, planering av vården, närstående och vårdmiljö. Resultat: Resultatet visar på att uppfattningen om hur man upplever vården på avdelningen varierar kraftigt.

Diagnosen hjärntumör påverkar inte bara patienten utan hela familjen. Stort fokus läggs på patienten, vilket leder till att anhöriga ibland blir osynliga i vården. Genom att se anhöriga kan sjuksköterskor indirekt bidra till en bättre vård av patienter med hjärntumör, eftersom det kan leda till en ökad trygghet inom familjen. Syftet var att belysa upplevelsen av att vara anhörig till en patient som drabbats av hjärntumör. Uppsatsen är en litteraturstudie, som bygger på tio kvalitativa artiklar, vilka beskriver upplevelsen av att vara anhörig till en patient, som drabbats av hjärntumör.
