Jyllandsposten och islamofobin - en postkolonial studie av diskursen om muslimer som "de Andra"
Efter den 11 september 2001 har det i väst blivit mer accepterat att göra negativa uttalanden om islam och muslimer i diskurser. Vår tes är att ledarsidorna i Jyllandsposten är ett exempel på en sådan diskurs där muslimer framställts som de Andra och ses som fundamentalt olika "danskarna". Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka diskursen om islam/muslimer på Jyllandspostens ledarsidor år 2000-2005. Detta görs genom en kritisk diskursanalys, utifrån postkolonial teori. Vi undersöker även om diskursen kan sägas vara en rasifierad diskurs, och hur diskursen har förändrats sedan år 2000.
Att vårdas för MRSA : En litteraturöversikt om patienters upplevelser av MRSA-vård
Bakgrund: Meticillinresistenta Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) ökar drastiskt inom sjukvården både i Sverige och i hela världen. Bakterien sprids vanligast från patient till patient via vårdpersonal då restriktioner om basala hygienrutiner inte följs. Att bli smittad med MRSA kan leda till svåra konsekvenser för patienter i form av infektioner i operationssår, i implanterade proteser, på hjärtklaffar, i lungorna och på hjärnhinnor. Patienter med MRSA vårdas i isolering för att förebygga att MRSA sprids vidare, vilket kan orsaka lidande hos patienter. Syfte: Denna uppsats syftar till att beskriva patienters upplevelser av MRSA-vård. Metod: Nio vetenskapliga kvalitativa artiklar ligger till grund för denna litteraturöversikt. Artiklarna har analyserats och sammanställts och nya teman uppkom efter de likheter som framkom i deras resultatdelar. Resultat: Resultatet visar att vårdandet förändrades efter MRSA-diagnos.
Hänvisning av akutsökande patient med Triagehandboken som beslutstöd - sjuksköterskans upplevelser
Den första process som möter den akutsökande patienten på en akutmottagning är triaget, vars syfte är att bedöma patientens medicinska tillstånd. Att hänvisa en akutsökande patient till annan vårdnivå är ett komplext beslut, som ska fattas med kunskap, erfarenhet och med respekt för den enskilda patienten. Syftet med studien var att beskriva sjuksköterskornas upplevelse i hänvisningssituationen av akutsökande patienter, med Triagehandboken som beslutstöd. Metoden var kvalitativ med semistrukturerade intervjuer. Åtta sjuksköterskor på en akutmottagning i södra Sverige inkluderades i studien.
Väntan på en somatisk akutmottagning : utifrån sjuksköterskans perspektiv
Background: To wait on an emergency department is a reflected and well-documented problem. Thou it´s mainly due to a patient perspective should also nurses' perspectives be significant to obtain a faceted perception of the phenomenon.Aim: The purpose of this study was to describe how nurses perceive the phenomenon of anticipation of a somatic emergency department.Method: The analysis was performed using a phenomenological approach. The study was conducted in a medium-sized hospital in southern Sweden, during the latter part of 2005, and had a qualitative approach based on a lifeworld perspective. Data collection consisted of written stories from twelve nurses.Results: The results indicated that the waiting was the scene of the expectations. These expectations led to dilemmas, powerlessness and frustration, the more the phenomenon was allowed to stand.
Traumaomhändertagande på akutmottagningen : Upplevelser ur patientens perspektiv
Background:A trauma is a potential life threatening state which demands special resources and optimal care. Trauma doesn't just mean physical violence against the body, it can also put the patient in a psychological crisis. The trauma care in the emergency department is a short and intensive assessment between the patient and the emergency staff, where there is a risk that the patient may feel exposed and uncomfortable. For the nurse to be able to provide security and meet the patients' needs of well-being during the trauma care, the nurse has to try to understand the patients' needs and experiences. Aim: The aim of this study was to illuminate the patient's experiences during trauma care in the emergency department.
Våldsutsatta kvinnors upplevelser av vad som kännetecknar en god vårdrelation : En litteraturstudie
Bakgrund: Cirka 70 % av alla kvinnor i världen har någon gång blivit utsatta för våld. Forskning visade att det fanns en rädsla hos vårdpersonalen för att ta upp problemet med kvinnorna. Vårdpersonal har ett ansvar när det gäller att upptäcka och identifiera våldet som kvinnan upplevt. Syfte: Syftet var att belysa fysiskt våldsutsatta kvinnors upplevelser av vad som kännetecknar en god vårdrelation. Metod: Studien genomfördes som en allmän litteraturstudie, detta med hjälp av 11 vetenskapliga artiklar.
Mötet mellan sjuksköterskan och den misshandlade kvinnan
Background:Nurses can meet women who have been victims of abuse anywhere in the healthcare. Healthcare providers have a responsibility to these women, and it requires a broad range of skills to identify the women and thus be able to help them. It is important to see all patients as unique individuals and provide good care to maintain their specific needs. This paper was done to increase the understanding of nurses' experiences in the encounter with the battered woman.Aim:The aim of this study was to illustrate how nurses experience the encounter with the battered woman.Method:Literature review with both qualitative and quantitative studies. Nine articles were chosen to be read, reviewed and analyzed.Results:Three themes and ten subthemes appeared.

Background: An indisputable right for nurses is to have a safe and secure work environment so they can deliver a high quality care. To bring a clear definition of what threat and violence are, is an important part in the work to prevent threat and violence. One part of the problem is that the experience and understanding of threat and violence can be different from one person to another. Aim: The aim of this quality study was to emphasize Nurses experience of threat and violence at workplace. Method: The method used in this study was qualitative interviews in the sense to bring out the nurses experience.
Empowerment som metod för ökad livskvalitet vid diabetes.
Inledning: Information och undervisning är en stor del av omvårdnadsarbetet vid vård av patienter med kronisk sjukdom. Diabetes är en sjukdom där det är tydligt att en lyckad information och utbildning till patienten kan vara skillnaden mellan svåra komplikationer och en fungerande vardag. Bakgrund: I bakgrunden har tre huvudbegrepp presenterats. Empowerment är ett begrepp som har växt sig starkt inom omvårdnadsämnet under de senare decennierna och innebär att patienten sätts i fokus. Vid litteraturgenomgång beskrevs begreppet som det ideala sättet att bedriva patientundervisning.
Sjuksköterskornas upplevelser av det emotionella arbetet : En fenomenologisk hermeneutisk studie
Background: A nurse who is working in the health care is expected to show the best side for other people. An emotional work demands a lot of the role of a nurse, when she has to deal with her feelings after the given situation to satisfy the patient.Aim: The purpose of the study is to seek understanding of what nurses perceive to be the essence of the emotional work in health care. The study also wants to understand what factors could affect the meeting both positively and negatively between nurse and patient in social interactionMethod: The study?s methodology is qualitative with phenomenological-hermeneutical approach to seek understanding of the six interviewed nurses lived experiences and the experiences of the emotional work.Results: The result has four main themes developed: Emotional management, to consider the patients existential needs, meeting the patient and to do something meaningful.Conclusion: The essence of the perceived emotional work for nurses is emotional transformation where the nurse changes her feelings by acting according to the situation in the meeting with the patient. It is important that nurses reflect in the work so they do not take their work home and become exhausted and burn out.Keywords: Emotional labour, emotional management, patient encounter, phenomenological-hermeneutical, existential needs, the essence, burn out.

Background: The need for structured practice has in recent years appeared in connection with the request for a more evidence-based nursing. In psychiatric care with its complex disabilities, it is important to have methods to identify these. Research has demonstrated the importance of patient participation in nursing that has been shown to affect their mental health. It is essential to get to know how patients with mental illness are capable of involvement in their life situation. The ICF emerged as a useful theoretical framework for development of questionnaires of patient participation.Aim: The aim of the present pilotstudy was to develop and test a questionnaire for participation, based on ICF.

In cooperation with Hälsoteamet Halmstad a pilot study was made to see if whole body vibration exercise has any effect on muscle strength, movement and experience of pain in people with knee osteoarthritis. Today whole body vibration exercise is a revolutionary exercise method that needs more studies to show the positive and negative effects. Osteoarthritis is a degenerative disease where more cartilage is destroyed than replaced. The most common symptoms are pain, stiffness, restricted movement, muscularly atrophy, tenderness and instability. The cartilage needs pressure to rebuild, it is therefore important that the patient exercise.

Background: During the 1980s, the fear of HIV spread over the world. Health professionals'attitudes to patients with HIV, was negatively impacted because of their fear to be infected.Patients with HIV have therefore,during disease history's first two decades, experienced stigma and discrimination in the response from health professionals. Because of the increasing knowledge of HIV it is of interest to study patients' contemporary experiences of the encounter with health professionals. Aim:To explore how patients with HIV experiencing the meeting with health professionals. Method:Literature study with seven qualitative and three quantitative articles.

Aim: The aim of this study was to examine nurses experiences of asking patients aboutintimate partner violence and what the nurses believed could be of help or hindrance whenasking the question.Method: The study design was qualitative. Nine nurses from four different divisions wasinterviewed. The participants worked at a Swedish university hospital with an action plan fortaking care of violated women. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews usingan interview guide. The results were analyzed using qualitative content analysis.Main result: The question about intimate partner violence raises a variety of feelings amongnurses, for example anger and empathy.
