Cross infection is a global health problem. The cost for cross infection increases every year. Florence Nightingale focused her attention on preventing cross infections by using good hygiene and as a nurse that is one of your more important tasks. Nurses have guidelines for how hygiene should be implemented in practice. The aim of this study is to investigate factors that influence nurses´ compliance to guidelines regarding hygiene.

The purpose of this study was to examine the usage and occurrence of media literacy in relation to literature studies in the senior level of the nine-year compulsory school. The questions at issue were;How do teachers and students look upon media literacy and how is this attitude reflected in their education?How do teachers incorporate media literacy with literature studies?What attitudes do students have towards their teachers? education of media literacy and literature studies?The study took place in two cities in Sweden. It consists of eighteen qualitative interviews with six teachers and twelve students. The study shows that teachers have different attitudes towards media education in relation to literature studies.

The number of persons with problems of abuse or addiction seeking care has increased during the last years in Sweden. Recent international studies show stigmatizing attitudes among nursing staff, which affect the treatment and care negatively. The purpose of this study was to describe experiences among nursing staff of treating persons with problems of abuse or addiction at an emergency department. The participants were six nurses and one assistant nurse who worked at an emergency department. The interviews were analyzed through qualitative content analysis.

The study is about Physical Education as a subject that offers students in Upper Secondary School a possibility to a life long interest in exercising. The study focuses on whether there is a difference between study concentrate programmes and profession concentrate programmes. The study also includes differences among exercising and non-exercising students. Earlier research shows that many youths don?t have an exercise form that they spend their spare time in.

Patienter med annan kulturell bakgrund är sårbara på grund av bristande kunskaper i det nya landets språk vilket leder till kommunikationssvårigheter. Inte bara i Sverige utan i hela världen är kommunikationsbarriärer den vanligaste barriären mellan en sjuksköterska och denna patientgrupp. Bakgrund: Kommunikation har grundläggande betydelse för kvalitén av omvårdnad inom patientvården. En sjuksköterska ska vara medveten om att språkbarriärer spelar en viktig roll i patienters vårdvistelse samt kan vara ett hinder när dessa patienter söker sjukvård. Syfte: Studiens syfte är att beskriva vilka faktorer som påverkar kommunikationen mellan patient med annan etnicitet och sjuksköterska, ur ett patientperspektiv.

Introduction: Good hand hygiene practice is the single most important measure to reduce the spread of bacteria and viruses in healthcare. For nurses, this has become more important as the spread of multidrug-resistant bacteria in hospitals is increasingObjective: To identify factors that are important for adherence to hand hygiene among health care workers with patient contact.Method: Systematic literature review. Original articles were searched in PubMed and Cinahl.Results: Factors of importance for compliance was profession, lack of time, knowledge/education, physical work environment, attitudes toward hand hygiene, and dry hands.Conclusion: More education, less workload and more visible placement of hand disinfectant containers are examples of actions that could lead to the improvement of staff hand hygiene and reduce the incidence of healthcare associated infections. Due to the fact that health care workers around the world have different training and approaches, the result of this study may be difficult to use. Anafylaxi är en allergisk reaktion och personen som drabbas kan få allvarliga och svåra symptom som kräver behandling. Kännetecknet för anafylaxi är att det kan påverka olika delar av kroppen samtidigt; bland annat hud, luftvägar, mag- och tarmkanalen, hjärta och blodkärl. Det blir ofta korta möten mellan ambulanspersonal och patient och därför finns inte mycket tid för att försöka skapa ett förtroende. Omvårdnaden vid anafylaxi sker till en början snabbt och det kan uppfattas som en stressad situation för både patient och personal. Syftet med studien var att undersöka ambulanspersonalens erfarenheter av att vårda patienter med anafylaxi.

Bakgrund: Anorexia nervosa drabbar ca 1 procent av alla kvinnor och 0,1 procent av alla män innan 18 års ålder i Sverige. Patientgruppen återfinns i både allmänsjukvård och psykiatriska vårdavdelningar. Sjuksköterskan behöver redskap för att utveckla en vårdrelation till dessa patienter, då vårdrelationen är essentiell för att uppnå hälsa. Syfte: Att belysa de olika faktorer som påverkar vårdrelationen mellan sjuksköterska och patient med diagnosen anorexia nervosa. Metod: Studien är en systematisk litteraturstudie.

Background: Many cancer patients who get bone metastases live longer thanks to the successful research and development of medicines during recent years. Many studies show general health benefits from physical activity. For patients with bone metastases the possibility of physical activity perhaps should limit? Nurses at oncological units are often in lifelong contact with this group of patients. It´s therefore important to have knowledge about the bone metastases and how it influence the patient´s possibility of performing physical activity in order to support and encourage the patient to safely physical activity.Aim: To describe the patient´s possibility of physical activity with metastases to the bone.Method: A literature study.Results: The extension of the bone metastases shall be verified through X-ray.

The aim of this Master's thesis is to understand public library users' perceptions of librarians' attitudes to users and professional knowledge. The purpose was also to investigate the relative importance to the user of pleasant or a knowledgeable librarian. As a theoretical framework we use theory from business economy where the experience of the user is in focus. Answers were sought to the following questions: How do users perceive librarians attitudes to users? How do users perceive librarians professional knowledge? How do users want to be treated by public librarians? What kind of knowledge should public librarians have, according to users? We interviewed twelve students in university education that are users of public libraries.

What affect if an incident is reported?- an interview study with nursesABSTRACTEveryday in health care, there are incidents which can harm patients. However, reporting these incidents is not always a positive experience. The number of incident reports which are documented are a lot fewer than the number of incidents that actually occur. The purpose of the present study was to describe factors that affect nurses? decisions on whether to report an incident or not.

The purpose of this thesis is to find out how young girls reason about norms and attitudes towards female sexuality. Through a qualitative research approach ten girls in grade 9 has discussed in two focus-groups on what is typically female, the ideal images of the ultimate woman as well as what is considered to be characteristic of female sexuality. The results were analyzed using Tina Mattson's theory of intersectionality, Beverly Skeggs theory of respectability and Göran Burenhults thoughts about biology and sexuality. Some of the main findings are that the girls in the study associate femininity primarily with external attributes and beauty and the ideal image of the woman is beautiful, yet independent. Further they describe different conditions for boys and girls to explore their own sexuality, and also that for girls the risk of being branded a "whore" is ever present.

Bakgrunden till föreliggande studie är att stroke är en av Sveriges stora folksjukdomar och afasi kan uppkomma som komplikation. Detta kan medföra problem vid kommunikationen och vårdrelationen kan bli lidande. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att belysa vårdrelationen med strokedrabbad patient med afasi ur ett vårdarperspektiv. Studien grundade sig på sex vetenskapliga artiklar som granskades genom innehållsanalys inspirerad av Burnards (1991) analysmetod. Analysen resulterade i tre huvudgrupper med undergrupper vilka belyser olika aspekter för att skapa en god vårdrelation.

Smärta är förenat med ett lidande, och sjuksköterskan har ett stort ansvar vid smärtbedömning och smärtbehandling av patienter. Trots dagens väl utvecklade metoder och preparat för smärtlindring behandlas inte patienters smärta på ett adekvat sätt, bland annat på grund av negativa attityder hos sjuksköterskan när det gäller narkotikaklassade läkemedel. För att åskådliggöra hinder hos sjuksköterskan att administrera opioider till patienter med smärta genomfördes en systematisk litteraturstudie baserad på 18 originalartiklar. Resultatet visade att opiofobi hos både patient och sjuksköterska kunde verka som en barriär. Bristande kunskaper angående smärtbedömning och opioid som preparat var ett hinder för tillräcklig smärtlindring Ett bra samarbete mellan sjuksköterska och läkare var av stor vikt för att uppnå goda resultat vid smärtbehandling.

This essay examines resident experiences and notions of the Gotland countryside and their ideas about the future. In particular the countryside is studied as both space and place. In space and place people interacting. People are therefore important components in the study of the landscape. One can say that the landscape and the interaction between people affect resident experiences and notions of the countryside, as well as people certainly affect the landscape.
