In this thesis we propose a conceptual plan for thedevelopment of an Agroforestry Training Centre (ATC)in Musoma, Tanzania. The aim is to make a proposalto support peasant education in agroforestry. How canan ATC in Musoma be developed into a stimulatingand educational park suitable for teaching agroforestrymethods to peasant farmers and other potential users?To answer that a field study was conducted to investigatehow our client Vi Agroforestry Programme (Vi) and thetarget groups of the client can benefit from the site.The thesis begins with a short explanation of thecontext, in which the ATC plays a part followed by amethodology chapter. Next are three chapters presentedwhich introduce the reader to the research conductedbefore starting the proposal, these include: results ofliterature studies, study of precedents, and results of fieldstudy.

Sätten att titta på TV-serier har utökats de senaste åren i och med Internets allt mer centrala rolli vår mediekonsumtion. Sverige har gått ifrån att vara ett land med en enda public service-kanaltill ett med ett stort utbud av kommersiella TV-kanaler med syfte att locka tittare och annonsörer.I vår studie har vi undersökt aspekter av TV-serier som ligger utanför själva texten. GerardGenette (1997) var den som myntade uttrycket paratext som består av de två delarna peritextoch epitext. Dock är det Jonathan Gray (2010) som pratar om paratexter i relation till TV-serier,medan Genette (1997) endast beskriver paratexter i samband med litteratur. Eftersom det finnsså många olika TV-serier och TV-kanaler är det viktigt för en ny TV-serie att sticka ut blandmängden, samt att skapa en bild av vilken typ av TV-serie den är innan den faktiskt börjat sändas.Vi har använt oss av tre olika metoder för att kunna besvara våra två frågeställningar som rörvilka epitexter TV-kanaler använder sig av och hurvida det finns ett intresse hos tittare att kunnaengagera sig vidare i en TV-serie.

A quantitative content analysis which studies the potential of democratic communication through intranet use.Authors: Stina Gabrielsson and Jill Johansson VennelinPurpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate whether there is potential for democratic communication within the NGOs through intranet use.Key questions to be answered were: To what extent is authority versus members represented on the intranet Klick?s discussion forum? What/which communication-related functions out of social function, knowledge transferring and debate are featured in the posts published on the intranet Klick?s discussion forum? Are deliberative discussions being practiced in the discussion forumthreads on the intranet Klick? The thesis is based on the theory of deliberative democracy. In order to substantiate the theory has theoretical perspectives concerning participation and involvement also been applied. These perspectives are derived from organizational theory and internal communication.Method/Material: This study consists of a quantitative content analysis of the 477 posts and the 129 discussion threads available on the NGO RFSU?s intranet Klick the 29th of november 2012.Main results: The results show that 63, 4 percent of those who were active in the discussionforum represented the category authority, while the category members were formed by 36, 6 percent.

The quality of a design can improve essentially through a Participatory designprocess. Initially, The Mulberry School project was supposed to be finished in two months but the involvement of artist Scott G Burnham extended the work and brought a new dimension into the project. In the beginning, Scott and I both worked on the project unaware of each other. I was appointed by the architect to design the external areas of the school and based on a site survey and analysis of the factors infl uencing the site I created a design proposal with the concept form and function. At the same time Scott performed a series of workshops initiated by the school. The purpose and goal was to include the students in the redevelopment of the school and to produce a design based on the thoughts and wishes of the students.

The analytical framework is based on the political institutionsincluded in Robert A. Dahl polyarchial democracy.

För att få en trygg identitet ska alla elever i grundskolan uppnå medvetenhet om det egna kulturarvet och delaktighet i det gemensamma. Detta anser skolverket vara viktigt för förmågan att förstå och leva sig in i andras villkor och värderingar. Tyvärr resulterar många av försöken att tala om kultur i skolan bara till ökat särskiljande, istället för ökad förståelse.Denna undersökning syftar till att hitta ett nytt sätt att arbeta med kultur- och etnicitetsfrågor. Utifrån frågeställningen ?Hur kan man använda designprocessen för att skapa nya högtider och därigenom synliggöra och utmana de sätt på vilka identitetskapande sker bland elever i grundskolans årskurs tre?? har ett designpedagogiskt projekt genomförts tillsammans med 50 barn i nioårsåldern.I detta projekt har dessa 50 barn, eleverna i två skolklasser, använt metoder inspirerade av transformations- och Participatory design för att skapa ett helt nytt, eget högtidsfirande. Tillsammans har vi satt ramarna för en ny tradition, en ny kultur och ett nytt beteende. Min förhoppning var att genom att skapa något nytt, gemensamt skulle samhörighetskänslor uppstå istället för att kulturella skillnader skulle uppmärksammas och på så sätt öka segregeringen.Under projektets gång har jag samlat in empiri i form av ljudupptagningar, fotografier, fältanteckningar och artefakter, de produkter som eleverna tillverkade inför firandet.

This essay examines how public planners and the inhabitants of södra Gårda relate to the physical planning of the area and to the demolition versus the preservation of the quarters Eken and Cedern, and how the dialogue between planners and citizens appears to be. How do the planners and policymakers relate to citizen participation in urban planning, and how is Participatory planning carried out in the legislation, rhetorically and in practice. Former research indicates a distinct gap between rhetorics, legislation and actions in practice regarding citizen participation in planning, which is why we find it an interesting topic for further research. The essay aims to highlight the different actors interests and visions of the development of the area. Which are the standpoints and arguments the different actors set out for the future visions of the area? The essay focuses on citizen participation in urban planning in the city of Gothenburg.

Sociala medier har fått allt större betydelse när det gäller kommunikation mellan människor och för företag har explosionen av sociala medier inneburit både möjligheter och utmaningar. För att möta konsumenterna där de befinner sig har företag nu följt efter kunderna till de sociala medierna. I strävan efter att öka sin lönsamhet har företag tagit tillvara på sociala medier som en ny och effektiv e-handelskanal, en verksamhet som fått namnet social commerce. Social commerce är ett nytt fenomen i Sverige och handlar om försäljning av varor och tjänster via sociala medier. Vårt mål med denna studie är att undersöka anledningarna till varför några svenska företag har valt att använda sociala medier som en plattform för sin e-handel samt klargöra vad det är som gör att sociala medier är en lämplig plattform för e-handel.

In early January 2010 the authors participated in a meeting with the chief engineer for a company in which a central part is manufacturing of printed circuit boards (PCB). At this meeting it emerged that the machinery and production methods have changed substantially since the early 1990's. The spreadsheet for preliminary production time calculations by the company is today based on conditions from almost 20 years ago. The company has over the years been trying to adjust the spreadsheet template. The result of these adjustments has filled it with historical residue, something which makes the template difficult and time consuming when the primary user tries to handle it.The purpose of this study was to help the company increase its accuracy in the representation of the production times for the different PCB-based products by developing a new costing model based on an already existing but inadequate spreadsheet template. The company also expressed the wish that the new costing model would be less time consuming to work with.The methods used to achieve the goal are interviewing, Participatory observations and meetings with relevant persons. The data obtained were analyzed using the theory on PCB production and visualization of data.

Projektet är en designpedagogisk undersökning som genomförts på ett rehabiliteringscenter på södra Gotland. I projektet har designpedagogen verkat och integrerat tillsammans med ungdomar, socionomer och psykologer på en akut- och utredningsenhet, fyra veckor under hösten 2011. Undersökningen har utgått från frågeställningen: Hur kan man arbeta med ett designpedagogiskt projekt i en behandlingsmiljö för ungdomar? Frågeställningen undersöks och redovisas med hjälp av två olika pedagogiska verktyg, dels genom skriftlig form, dels genom en gestaltning på Konstfack vecka två 2012, där båda delarna integrerat kommunicerar undersökningens innehåll.Projektet är ett kvalitativt forskningsprojekt där etnografiinspirerade metoder används för att analysera och skapa nya kunskaper utifrån ungdomarnas berättelser och aktiviteter, samtidigt som undersökningen betraktar sättet designpedagogen och informanterna lär och utbyter erfarenheter med varandra utifrån socialkonstruktivism och sociokulturell teori. Studiens syfte handlar om att undersöka det estetiska skapandets potential utifrån informanternas behov på rehabiliteringsinstitutionen.

Water related problems are highlighted as a challenge to sustainable development and the topic of forests and water is gaining increased attention worldwide. Governing forest and water is a complex issue, as the interactions are affected by policies and actors from multiple levels and sectors. In Sweden, forests cover much of the land and forestry is an important land-use, inevitably impacting the water in the landscape. This study aims to understand and explain the existing governance framework around forestry and water in Sweden. Based on the Policy Arrangement Approach, the study?s research questions focused on the actors involved, the formal and informal rules, the resources and power structures and the discourses related to forestry and water in Sweden.
