In health care today at Uppsala County Council the daily work involves spending time at the computer. IT-systems were implemented to support and aid the care givers in their work. Around these systems there is a support organization to support the users in using the system. The aim of this thesis is to investigate this organization in terms of how well it works and how successful it is in helping the users. This has been done by investigating the flow of information trough the organization and by focusing at the role of IT-coordinators with responsibility for support, process development, education and statistics.

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur socialtjänstens lokala förebyggare i Uppsala kommun arbetar med ungdomar i åldern 12-16 år gällande droger. Studien är begränsad till fyra, av kommunen prioriterade, stadsdelar i Uppsala kommun. Förhoppningsvis kan studien bidra till ökad kunskap om, och diskussion kring, det förebyggande arbetet med ungdomar gällande droger. Metoden var kvalitativ och bestod av halvstrukturerade intervjuer. Resultaten som analyserades med hjälp av tidigare forskning visade att de lokala förebyggarn arbetar på flera nivåer, strukturell-, grupp-, och individnivå.

In the middle of the 19th century came an opposite reaction against the hospitals? treatment of their patients and a more human way was requested. A link between crowded housing, bad hygien and other bad conditions had been noticed and nature was considered to be healthy. Hospitals and sanatiories moved closer to nature due to influences from England, USA and Germany, and cities began building public parks. Employment was seen as calming and healthy for the patients.

In recent years the construction industry has been exposed to increased time pressure which has resulted in a higher amount of wastage. Today 35 % of all construction projects in Sweden is "wasted". Time pressure has risen due to increased competition on the market, with more actors entering the construction business, therefore profit margins decreased which has led to a more pressing need for decreasing the amount of wastage.Bravida is Scandinavia's largest supplier of installations and provides specialist services in electrical installations (heating and sanitation), and ventilation. Mahdi Bawaqneh's task was to investigate where, how and why wastage occurs in the company's projects and how to prevent such wastage. The thesis covers the subjects of lean production, communication in projects and planning of projects.

Att åstadkomma en önskvärd styrning mot gemensamma mål är ett ständigt pågående arbete inom samtliga organisationer. De styrmedel som studeras är informella och formella styrmedel samt organisationsstruktur. I denna uppsats studeras de ovan nämnda styrmedlen utifrån de anställdas perspektiv vid två institutioner inom Uppsala universitet. För anställda vid institutionerna finns tre arbetsuppgifter; forskning, undervisning och administrativt arbete. Enligt Ouchi påverkas valet av styrmedel bland annat av organisationens storlek, därför skiljer sig institutionerna åt i storlek, både vad gäller antalet anställda samt antal helårsstudieplatser.Vi har inte funnit några skillnader mellan institutionernas formella styrmedel.

Syftet med studien var att beskriva arbetet med Fysisk aktivitet på Recept, FaR®, bland fysioterapeuter och arbetsterapeuter i Uppsala kommun sex månader efter införandet. Metoden som användes var kvantitativ och genomfördes i form av en webbaserad enkätstudie. Kriteriet för att delta i studien var att ha en anställning som fysioterapeut eller arbetsterapeut inom något av Uppsala kommuns ansvars- och verksamhets-områden. Enkäten besvarades av 111 personer och analyserades i SPSS. Resultatet visade att förskrivningen av FaR® sker sporadiskt och utförs av en liten andel av personalen.

Allocation of funds to public libraries is uneven and this study will try to explain the reasons and clarify why the allocations of funds are distributed like they are and what calculations influenced the financial apportionment. This master thesis accounts for allocation in seven public libraries in Uppsala. The study shows that one reason for uneven allocations is demographic. Another reason is that the library has come into a good or bad circle. There are no models for allocation of funds to public libraries in Uppsala, thats why their allocations are given after a percentage increase of earlier years allocations, and that leads to a good or bad circle.

Fragmentation and reduction of forest area is a threat for many forest species and their habitat. Deficiencies in forest quality, such as lack of dead wood and old trees, are one explanation of the threat. The most important action to prevent the continued loss of forest types is to protect forest, but also to restore and to create areas that not previously had high nature values. Hence one of the key strategic roles for Fritid- och Naturkontoret, Uppsala municipality, is to monitor biodiversity in the context of urban planning. The majority of the Uppsala municipality residents live in urban areas and most of them spend some of their spare time in natural areas in cities and their immediate surroundings. Exploitation in and around Uppsala is high, but it is important that there is enough nature close to houses to meet the residents? needs of recreation.

The purpose of this final thesis is to investigate the effects of seasonal changes in the horticulture industry. In this study this includes mainly garden designers, constructors of gardens and parks and horticultural businesses at Österlen. Today the most important issue,both in private and in public environment, is that the winter occupation in this area is not big enough. The consequence of this issue can result in the loss of competence to other industries if educated personnel has to stay employed only over season. The study is trying to identify and rank factors that are contributing to the problem, and propose solutions that means work opportunities for companies in the horticulture industry as well as for their employees, during twelve months of the year..

Delar av marken i Uppsala består av mäktiga lerlager. Naturliga krypsättningar pågår ständigt i området, en process som i litteraturen benämns geologisk åldring. Ökad belastning i form av uppfyllnad kring byggnader och sänkt grundvattenyta till följd av pumpning av färskvatten bidrar också till sättningar. I ett nybyggt bostadsområde på Kapellgärdet har marksättningarna intill de pålade husen på vissa platser uppgått till 0.3 m på 10 år.Med geotekniska data för området har en jordprofil tolkats. Analys har gjorts utifrån den klassiska sättningsteorin för primärsättningar till av ökade effektivspänningar från fyllnadsmassor och grundvattensänkning.

Background: Studies show that unsolved contact tracing of chlamydia increase in Uppsala County. Research shows that the meeting between patient and caregiver, when performing a contact tracing, may be crucial to the outcome of contact tracing. Objective: The aim of the study was to investigate how midwives describe the encounter with the patient during contact tracing in youth clinics in Uppsala County Council. Methods: A qualitative approach with semi- structured interviews was used to collect data. Nine midwives of varying age and work experience from seven different youth clinics in Uppsala County Council were interviewed.

Sammanfattning Detta arbete har som syfte att ge förslag på hur man kan använda sig av Malmös parker i undervisningen med tonvikt vid historia och med utgångspunkt i den offentliga grönskan. Metoderna jag använt mig av har varit litteraturstudier av olika slag samt föreläsningar, samtal och grupparbete under kursen Stadens historia på Malmö Högskola samt studiebesök på Malmö stadsarkiv och stadsbibliotek. Vidare redovisas stöd för tanken att arbeta utifrån parkerna lokalhistoriskt i styrdokumenten och inom historiedidaktiken. En modell för hur man kan använda parken som ett pedagogiskt redskap presenteras samt en förteckning över litteratur innehållande olika övningar och uppgifter att använda i samband med parkbesöken..

Syfte: Syftet med vår uppsats är att utreda om det kontaktnätverk som knyts genom frivilligt engagemang under studietiden vid Uppsala universitet förbättrar anställningsmöjligheterna efter studierna, jämfört med kontaktnätverk som skapas utan frivilligt engagemang.Metod: Vi har använt oss av en kvantitativ ansats där vi över telefon, i samspråk med respondenterna, har fyllt i en elektronisk enkät och sedan utfört en jämförande analys mellan två urvalsgrupper. Urvalsgrupperna har bestått av personer som varit tidigare förtroendevalda vid någon studentförening i Uppsala samt personer som inte varit frivilligt engagerade men som har examinerats från Uppsala universitet.Slutsatser: Utifrån våra avgränsningar indikerar resultatet från vårt urval att ett frivilligt engagemang förbättrar framtida anställningsmöjligheter via kontakter. Vårt resultat indikerar på att personer som varit frivilligt engagerade i högre utsträckning både erhåller information om arbetstillfällen och hjälp till första arbetet efter examen av kontakter. Majoriteten av dessa kontakter har de frivilligt engagerade träffat just genom sitt engagemang.  .

This thesis is a study over changes and similarities of people's activities in Berzelii park, with focus on the second half of the 19th century and present time. As one of the oldest public parks in Stockholm, Berzelii park has been a place for outdoor activity for more than a hundred years. During that time both the park and the society have undergone changes, but people are still using this green area in the city centre in a similar way as generations before have done. It is still a place for social gathering and during the summer month the park invite for optional and social activities such as a pause in the sun and pic-nic with friends. Some customs has disappeared like the 19th century social stroll, but through small changes in rules or design others have become given, like using the lawns as seating..

Shear Strength and Deformation Characteristics of Uppsala Clay with CRS and Standard OedometerTyra Morell Bonin & Magdalena MählerTo see how much a clay compact under different pressure one can use several different methods and in this project, two methods were used, the Standard Oedometer and a CRS apparatus. A Standard Oedometer is a full-time manual device and the CRS apparatus is a modern electric and automatic device. The aim of the project was to see similarities and differences between the two methods and examine which method that were most reliable. This has been done with repeated laboratory tests and afterward evaluations. With this information one can get a picture of how the clay will behave and how it will deform in nature.
