The purpose of this essay is to look at how the depiction of cats is performed in childrens? picture books. I will analyze eight pictures from four different books, two from each. The books are from two different decades: from the 1960s and from the 2000s.My ambition is to see if there are any artistic or cultural differences when comparing the two decades? depictions of cats to each other.

Syftet med denna empiriska studie var att granska hur sjuksköterskan dokumente-rar smärta på en postoperativ avdelning och hur åtgärder i samband med smärt-lindring följs upp. Studien genomfördes på Universitetssjukhuset i Malmö genom granskning av journaler för 14 patienter som givit sitt samtycke att delta i studien. Analysen resulterade i tre kategorier: god/tillfredsställande, delvis tillfredsställan-de och bristfällig/obefintlig dokumentation. Resultatet av studien visade brister gällande dokumentation av smärta. Avsaknad av användning av visuell analog skala, smärtans karaktär och uppföljning av smärtlindring kunde noteras i ett fler-tal journaler.

Discussing light and lighting in the night-time environment of Tensta, a Stockholm suburb built between 1962 and 1970, this thesis suggests that lighting should be designed for the outdoor environment as a whole. The feeling of safety and human perception are important components in this thesis. Starting with some comments on visual perception and how we adapt our sight to an interval of the visual input we get, makes it possible to understand that more light sometimes hides, rather than reveals, things. Amongst the dispersed houses, in the green parks of Tensta, this turns the pedestrian roads, lit by pole-top-mounted fixtures, into light tunnels in a dark surrounding. The purpose of this study was to examine six girls and boys in grade 4 use of adjectives in narrative texts and examine students' perception and experience of writing from a gender perspective. The methods used were text analysis and an interview. The results showed that girls write more adjectives than boys, but no further significant difference in their use of adjectives was found. There was a certain stereotypical difference in which adjectives they wrote and their attitudes toward writing. Girls are more positive to writing and see writing primarily important for school, while boys think writing is important to succeed in life..

The purpose of this thesis was to increase the understanding and discuss safety aspects in two stairwells on Nyforsgatan in Eskilstuna, where the buildings were built during the years 1965-1975. I have presented a proposal for improvement through lighting. I have through different methods, such as surveys, interviews, literature studies and observations, come to a conclusion: that there are opportunities for improvement through better lighting that allows orientation in space and creates a nice atmosphere which will remove the feeling of not being safe, e.g. dark corners and shadows. It has been an exciting process to gather enough of facts to rely on and to develop the lighting design for the environments.

To be examined in hospitals can sometimes be perceived aspainful by children. Therefore there is a need for something,which can distract children?s attention from their perceivedpain. During my graduation project, I discovered a designopportunity to work with suspended ceiling systems inexamination rooms, as there is not much to look at whilebeing examined.The result, Twig Ceiling is an interactive nature-inspiredbacklit module with colored LEDs. Twig Ceiling has onelayer of pattern that is visible when the module is not litand the second layer of pattern appears when turning onthe light.

I januari 2011 ratificerade Sverige den europeiska landskapskonventionen och förband sig därigenom att med sitt rättssystem och sin administration leva upp till dess värden. Konventionen trädde i kraft den 1:a maj 2011 i Sverige. Vissa av konventionens nyckelmeningar berör landskapsanalysen som verktyg och manar samtidigt till en beskrivning som grundar sig i allmänhetens perception av landskapen. Föreliggande rapport är uppdelad i en kvantitativ och en kvalitativ studie. I den kvantitativa studien har 348 planeringsunderlag från 176 av Sveriges 290 kommuner och 13 av Sveriges 21 länsstyrelser genomsökts efter sökord. Dessa sökord har valts ut för att representera de aspekter av den europeiska landskapskonventionen som jag menar är av stor vikt vid uppförandet av landskapsanalyser.

I föreliggande single subject designstudie har tre personer med thai som modersmål och svenska som andraspråk tränats specifikt i svenskt uttal. Syftet med föreliggande studie var därför att utforma samt genomföra en uttalsintervention vilken delades in i en suprasegmentell och en segmentell modul. Syftet var vidare att undersöka hur suprasegmentella och segmentella förändringar i uttalet påverkade uttalets förståelighet. Uttalsträningen utfördes 14 gånger under en fem-veckors period. Interventionen delades upp i två moduler, en med suprasegmentellt fokus (B1) och en med segmentellt fokus (B2).

This is an examinaton of welfare officers and patients experiences of a course in mindfulnessbased stressreduction in primary care. The authors used a qualitative method and a phenomenological hermeneutics scientific philosophical position. The analys of the data appeared by using three theoretical perspectives; cognitive, coping and Antonovskys Sence of Coherence. The purpose was to get a deeper understanding of what mindfulness is, how a course in mindfulnessbased stressreduction can be arranged and how it is comprehended by the welfare officers and previous participators of the course. To get an opinion of the issue the authors wanted to know the welfare officers intention of the course, to which patients they provide the course, what the participators thought about their situation before and after the attendence and if they had assimilated the knowledge and if so how it was applicable.

I detta examensarbete beskriver jag FMT-metoden, Funktionsinriktad MusikTerapi. Mitt syfte har varit att ta reda på hur FMT kan stödja elever med läs- och skrivsvårigheter i skolan. Jag beskriver i två fallbeskrivningar hur jag har arbetat med FMT med två elever som har läs- och skrivsvårigheter. Min slutsats är att FMT har en plats i grundskolan. Med FMT som resurs, skulle fler elever kunna fångas upp och få stöd med läs- och skrivinlärning. Fler elever skulle kunna ta till sig skolans undervisning och därigenom klara skolans mål. .

A growing need to strengthen ones position on the market, even as a city in competition with other cities, has resulted in an increasing number of municipalities developing brand platforms. When the city of Umeå developed their platform, they identified decision makers and investors as one of four important target groups.The aim of this study is to explore the portrayed image of the city of Umeå in two Swedish trade journals which addresses the specific target group decition makers and investors in both public and private sector. The aim is also to compare the image of Umeå in the two papers, to the ambition of the municipality, expressed in the brand platform.In order to make the observations as firmly established as possible, the method of the study is a combination of a quantitative content analysis and a qualitative text analysis. The study draws on the theories of Eli Avraham and Philip Kotler, concerning how to improve city images and how to market a specific city among others. The study shows that the city of Umeå in large extent is portrayed in accordance to the ambition which the municipality expressed in the brand platform.Umeå is displayed as an expanding city.

Sjuksköterskan har ett stort ansvar när det gäller patienters smärtlindring då det är sjuksköterskan som bedömer smärtan efter att patienten fått skatta den på exempelvis en smärtskattningsskala. I vården idag sker missuppfattningar om äldre patienters förmåga att känna smärta och sjuksköterskan har en tendens att bedöma smärtan mildare än vad den är. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie är att finna och beskriva smärtskattningsskalor som är lämpade för äldre patienter samt att jämföra smärtskattningsskalorna med varandra. Resultatet visar att patienter med viss grad av kognitiv nedsatthet har förmåga att bruka en smärtskattningsskala och att den skala som har bäst reliabilitet, genomförbarhet och som föredras mest är Iowa Pain Thermometer (IPT). Den minst föredragna skalan hos äldre och den som har sämst validitet, reliabilitet och genomförbarhet är Visual Analoge Scale (VAS)..

The aim of this study was to explore whether the patients? expectations of physiotherapy correspond with the physiotherapists? view of their own professional role. Two separate questionnaires were used, one to the patients and one to the physiotherapists, which questions were able to compare. Totally 41 patients and 6 physiotherapists answered the questionnaires. The low number of answers from the physiotherapists made it impossible to fulfil the purpose.

The purpose behind this work was to investigate whether I could from a practical approach to create desire for mathematics among students in primary schools. I wanted also to find out how students feel about their current mathematics teaching. By introducing an equation game, and interviewing students to find out their perception of their mathematics teaching, I was able to answer my questions. What I came to was that through a practical and laboratory work, I could create an enjoyable educational opportunity in mathematics. Then during the interviews I also learned that students had not a pre-determined negative attitude towards mathematics.

Auditor independence is a subject that has been discussed frequently over the past decade. The meaning of auditor independence is complex and contains both independence of mind and independence in appearance. The environment must perceive the auditor as independent if the audited information is to have any value for the users of the audited statements. The aim of this Master?s thesis is to examine how auditors can manifest their independence.
