The purpose of the study was to investigate the use and losses of energy in an existing older building. Another purpose was also to look through various options for heating systems with renewable energy in the building. The aim was to reduce the use and losses of energy. The first step was to study the related electricity bills of the building and also perform measurements and calculations of the building envelope and ventilation. The next step was to find out the possible actions for energy saving by performing measurements and calculations.

The usage of visions and strategies is something that helps an organisation to create an imaginary scenario and guide them of how to realize these goals. During the years of 2006-2008 Region Gotland presented a document that was supposed to show the region's visions. The theoretical framework of this thesis is based on the stakeholder theory, Balanced Scorecard (BSC) and Management Control Systems Package (MCS). Personal interviews were conducted within the organisation Region Gotland, with individuals whom are directly linked to the visions and strategies of the organisation. The purpose of this study is to clarify the concepts of vision and strategy, and what their impact is on the organisation's work on the operation level.

Humans have always been fascinated by the thought of bringing non living objects to life. We wanted to explore the possibilities of trying to create an artefact that the audience would consider possess emotional states and have a life of its own. TaS is a interactive chair that functions as a social entity. The idea is to try and enhance the bond between human and artefact, based upon the emotional connection. We try and produce, enhance and maintain this bond through curiosity based interaction. Detta projekt har skapat en design till en applikation, vars mål är att få människor i närnatur och samtidigt möjliggöra för dem att lära sig mer om den kulturhistoria denna natur har att bjuda.I projektet har designen till en guideapplikation för användning i miljö med kulturhistoriska arv undersökts och tagits fram. Projektet är en fallstudie och använder ramverket Minnesmark som en grund för designen.Designen är framtagen genom att använda en målinriktad designmetod och designprocess av Goodwin(2009). Med detta menas att personor och scenarier har varit de främsta verktygen för att generera krav till designen. Krav baseras även på ramverket Minnesmarks möjligheter och begränsningar. Vidare krav kommer även från intervjuer med två olika guider.En första design; en prototyp, utvärderades av åtta personer för att förbättra designen.

The main topic of this thesis is to evaluate the impact on the usability of web pages when using responsive web design, a concept for developing web pages whose design adapts to the screen size being used. This is done by creating a responsive prototype based on an existing web site. A number of usability tests are conducted on the two versions of the site in order to compare the time to complete the tests and to observe the behaviour of the test participants. The tests are conducted on desktop as well as on mobile devices with varying screen size.The number of test participants was relatively low, and so the quantitative result is not statistically valid. However, the conclusion is that the most effective combination is to use either of the sites on desktop format.

Ocean Modules Sweden AB is a small business active in the field of underwater technology. Thecompany was contacted by the Swedish Defense Materiel Administration (FMV) in order todevelop a new system that would conform to their specific requirements. Two students at theRoyal Institute of Technology (KTH) were consulted in conjunction of this project in order to aidthe development and conceptual design of the system.The primary users of the system are the divers of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal division (EOD)- a branch of the Swedish Armed Forces. The purpose of the product was to incorporate allnecessary functions required by the EOD divers into one single system. The main functions arecommunication between the surface operator and diver, video recording, still imaging, positioning,navigation and ocean floor mapping with sonar.

The purpose of this study was to examine leadership in the public sector based on leadership models, organizational factors, conditions and health of employees. The study was divided into sub-study one and two. In sub-study one the design was an observational study using cross sectional design in which 67 first line managers in the public sector answered a survey about conditions and leadership models. Sub-study two was an observational study using case-control design focusing on a health promoting leadership intervention in the municipal sector. Two semi-structured interviews and 41 surveys were collected.

Competition in the market of interior design during the last several years has drastically increased. The consumers of today are very conscious about what the market can offer and therefore they have high demands on the products. It is not only the function of the product that matters but also the design that makes a difference. Companies are becoming more aware of this and as a result they have to find a way to set themselves apart in order to attract customers. This realization has led designers and economists to cooperate in a different way than before.

SYFTESyftet med vår studie är att skapa en förståelse för hur de tre belysningsföretagen arbetar med ledarskap och design som en kreativ process för att ge en bild av hur ett ledarskap i designfokuserade företag kan se ut.METODUppsatsen har genomförts som en kvalitativ undersökning genom sammanlagt sex intervjuer. De tre armaturföretagen som valts ut är Bsweden, Zero och Örsjö Belysning. Fem stycken intervjuer ägde rum med personer på ledande positioner i dessa tre armaturföretag. En mejlintervju genomfördes även med en utomstående part.TEORIDelarna i teorin har delats upp på ledarskap, designstrategi och företagsamhet. För ledarskapsdelen tas ledarens roll upp, den kreativa ledarskapsstilen, ledning av kreativa individer och att leda designstrategi.

Syftet med vår kvantitativa studie var att utifrån ett genusperspektiv undersöka och analysera gymnasieelevers upplevda psykiska ohälsa. Syftet var också att studera om det fanns någon skillnad mellan gymnasieelevers psykiska ohälsa på yrkesförberedande respektive studieförberedande program. För att samla in vårt empiriska material använde vi oss av gruppenkäter. Enkäten var uppdelad i två olika delar, där den första delen bestod av upplevelsefrågor, medan den andra delen bestod av ett självskattningsformulär, där eleverna fick göra en självskattning på en likertskala av olika faktorer som kan påverka den psykiska ohälsan. Enkätstudien genomfördes på gymnasieelever i årskurs två på tre gymnasieskolor, och sammanlagt samlades det in 179 stycken enkäter.

Det här är ett projekt i industriell design som gick ut på att lösa ett problem. Projektet var ett samarbete med kontors- och utbildningsmöbelföretaget Abstracta. Problemet var att det på arbetsplatser idag lätt blir högljutt och bullrigt, speciellt i öppna kontorslösningar. För att ta fram en produkt som löser problemet gjordes undersökningar och analyser av marknaden, kunden, användaren, akustik och material. Det utgjorde grunden för en idégenerering som resulterade i ett koncept, som sedan vidareutvecklades till en serie akustikabsorbenter.

This account deals with my degree in furniture design. The project was done in collaboration with the architect firm Byggnadskonst AB in a quest for the cafe chain "Vivels"Byggnadskonst AB?s mission was to make the interior of the cafe that Vivels is building in Larsberg Center on Lidingö. My assignment was to design chairs for the café. In the beginning I had even thought about designing a table, but as time past I focussed more and more on the chairs.

The main objective of this study was to investigate the possible design of a horticultural therapy program in Swedish correctional treatment facilities. In the USA the use of horticultural therapy in offender rehabilitation is much more frequent compared with Sweden. The aim of these programs typically contains education for inmates. Research has been made indicating that these programs can have positive effects on psychosocial behavior and on vulnerability to substance abuse among incarcerated offenders. In this study the examples of these programs was categorized and analyzed from three perspectives; Vocational, social and therapeutic horticultural programs.

The problem being examined is the disturbing noise that is created in an open plan office on a company working with a creative process, such as a newspaper or a communications agency. The purpose of this study was to examine the needs for today for a sound absorber in open offices and create and design a design proposal. The aim is also to develop a marketing material the product proposal. The problem has been broken down into the following questions:- How does the user look at the need of a sound absorber in an open offices solution today?- Does an interior designer apply sound absorbers when they furnish the intended environment? - How can a design that meets the needs that exists be achieved and to speak the user?The study is based on three choice of methods a literature review on selected topics that relate to the topic, an interview with an interior designer to explore how an interior designer applies absorbers in open plan office and finally an extensive survey that treats the user's needs and appropriate appearance for the product proposal.The design process has undertaken the following methods, design brief, requirements specification, functional analysis and sketches to produce the final product proposal.
