Denna studie syftar beskriva och analysera hur långtidsarbetslösa och korttidsarbetslösa individer upplever sin tillvaro och hur de förhåller sig till denna. Inom den teoretiska ramen ligger sociologisk tidigare forskning på arbetslöshet samt tillfälliga anställningar och sociologiska teorier till grund. Genom 10 intervjuer delges läsaren exklusiva utsagor med gemensamma nämnare i form av fyra teman av den upplevda tillvaron. Det framkommer dock att olika mentaliteter delvis präglar de långtidsarbetslösas och de korttidsarbetslösas resonemang och därmed hanteras den upplevda tillvaron olika. Långtidsarbetslösa tenderar att ha en cynisk inställning till arbetsmarknadens anspråk, därför tillämpas gärna defensiva strategier såsom döljande av arbetslösheten för utomstående till exempel.

The purpose of this essay is to analyse how and why culture and tradition is created and maintained within a minor student society at a Swedish university by looking at its history. The West Coast Nation student society provided the material which was subsequently analysed and three sociological perspectives were applied in order to give the study a theoretical base. In order to investigate the purpose of the society, durkheimian theories on functionalism were applied. Moreover, Bourdieu?s thoughts on social fields were used as well as Elias? theories on the established and the Outsiders.

Syftet med denna studie är att genom intervjuer få en inblick i hur ungdomars identitet skapas i relation till deras omgivning. Studien förhåller sig till ett etnologiskt fältarbete där intervjuer med ungdomar i verksamheten "Fittja Pulsen" har genomförts. Frågeställningarna är anpassade till samtliga informanter och berör frågor om sambandet mellan identitetsskapandet och deras omgivning. De teoretiska utgångspunkter som användes i denna studie är Erik H Eriksonoch Erving Goffmans teori om identitet, Elias Norbert och John Scottsons teori om etablerade och Outsiders samt Telemans teori om språk. Genom användning av dessa teorier vid analysen av det empiriska datamaterialet visar vi att våra informanters omgivning spelar roll för deras identitetsskapande.

Det här är en uppsats om svenskt jämställdhetsarbete. Under lång tid har Sverige haft en familjepolitik med höga mål. Ett av de viktigaste målen idag handlar om jämställdhet mellan män och kvinnor. Uppsatsens syfte är att med hjälp av Mills problemuppdelning i allmänna problem och personliga bekymmer analysera föräldraförsäkringens roll för ett jämställt Sverige och huruvida föräldraförsäkringen kan leda till ökad jämställdhet.Vi har använt oss av Tillys teori om kategoriell ojämlikhet, Elias teori om etablerade och Outsiders, Giddens struktureringsteori och Mills allmänna problem och personliga bekymmer. Vi har använt oss av en kvalitativ textanalys av lagen om föräldraledighet, tidigare forskning och statistik.Resultatet vi har kommit fram till är att föräldraförsäkringen är ett medel för att lösa ett allmänt problem, men att brister i dess utformning skapar personliga bekymmer hos föräldrarna.

Abstract: In the past ten years in Sweden, the numbers of people between the ages of 16-19 who were unemployed or not in upper secondary school education have increased. This was assumed to be caused by three factors. Firstly the upper secondary school education reforms in 1992, secondly a substantially reduced labour market for young people without the upper secondary school education and thirdly an increase in demand for work experience.Our purposes was to describe the effects on the Outsiders through a document analysis study, but also to understand which individual, social and structural causes that were thought to increase the risk of marginality. Our second purposes were to understand how the Kristianstad community worked to prevent young people of ending up as Outsiders. Through interviews with local authorities, we tried to find out if the Kristianstad community lives up to their responsibility of looking after people less than twenty years of age.Our conclusion was that, although the Kristianstad community seems to have a good system, the community has the highest number of unemployed in the county of Skåne.

This bachelor thesis aimed to explore, in a qualitative manner, the relationship and the interaction between the hospital welfare officer and the rest of the nursing staff. We chose this subject because we wanted to explain the phenomena of being a medical outsider in the nursing team. Our questions at issue were the following three: How does the hospital welfare officer define his occupational sphere and how do the rest of the nursing staff define it, according to the welfare officer himself? Is the welfare officer's relation to his own professional role and to the rest of the nursing staff affected by where his office is placed - secluded from or within the clinic? How does the welfare officer himself value his profession in relation to the rest of the nursing crew? To answer these questions we interviewed eight welfare officers, placed in two different hospitals. We used three different theories to explain the primary information.

The religious school of thought that is involved in the control of Saudi Arabia is called Wahhabism and is a form of Islam that is usually accused by Outsiders of being misogynist. This paper will deal with the founder of this alignment of Islam, Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab, and his view of women in marriage. Another movement which in turn goes to work to lift the women's rights is Islamic feminists. Two branches of Islam who belief that Islam is the only right path to take for issues surrounding gender and life. In this essay, I will compare their respective interpretations of three points which concern the role of women in marriage; men's right to polygamy, men's higher status than the woman and the men's right to beat his wife.

The aim of this study was to examine young adult cannabis users? attitudes towards cannabis and their perception of the normalization of cannabis. The purpose was also to explore how their views of cannabis correspond with norms regarding cannabis. This study is based on interviews with five young adult cannabis users. The theoretical framework is based on Parker?s normalization thesis, Goffman?s notion of stigma, Becker?s definition of Outsiders and the definition of social identity developed by Stone.

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur fyra kvinnor över 75 år upplever jämlikhet i sina liv, med avseende på ålder, genom att göra intervjuer utifrån en fenomenologisk ansats. Ansatsen medförde utgångspunkten att det är individers upplevelser i sin vardagliga värld som har betydelse för att skapa förståelse. Analytiska verktyg i studien har varit delar av Bourdieus teori i Modeskaparen och hans märke, samt Elias och Scotsons teori i Etablerade och Outsiders. De intervjuade kvinnorna framhöll att de upplevde sig bli väl bemötta i samhället. Jag finner dock att det, i deras berättelser, går att återfinna inslag av stigmatisering i äldres liv.

Den här uppsatsen handlar om adoptioner och hur adoptionen upplevs av den som går igenom det. Uppsatsen är grundad på kvalitativa metoder och är skriven utifrån de svaren som våra respondenter gav oss. Syftet med denna uppsats är att få reda på hur internationellt adopterade vuxna har upplevt deras anknytningsprocess till sin familj och det svenska samhället. Vi har använt oss av två teorier och två begrepp. De teorier som vi har använt oss av är etablerade och Outsiders samt den sociologiska visionen.

The Swedish school in today?s society is multicultural. One of the main questions is how to integratethese students in the Swedish society. The purpose with the study is to explore how schoolcounsellors? work to promote the integration of multicultural students and what factors can influencethe integration of these students.

The aim of this study is to explore the approach and views on female genital mutilation(FGM) among young women from Somalia, and how they perceive the tradition afterimmigration to Sweden. This is structured under the following questions: What do theyknow about FGM? What are their experiences? And what do they reckon about FGMtoday? The study is based on one recorded interview with a group of young femalesfrom Somalia. The data were analysed using qualitative content analysis. The women?sfeelings were ambivalent though they on one hand opposed FGM because of serioushealth risks, but on the other hand were conscious of the tradition?s great influence inthe social network and daily life.

The decisions for investment are forward-looking and the base of a long-term strategy. The research within investment have focused on diverse formulas which are used in financial assessment, which also should be complemented with qualitative evaluation. Consequently, the focus should not only be on the execution of the formulas. Less time have been spent on research concerning what actually initiates the investment proposals and affects the decision-making. This will be highlighted in this essay.

Syftet med denna studie är att genom kvalitativ metod få förståelse för hur det är möjligt för f.d. kriminella att gå från ett slutet system, präglat av utanförskap och ensamhet, till en gemenskap i organisationen KRIS. Utifrån tio semi-strukturerade intervjuer med f.d. kriminella inom KRIS (Kriminellas Revansch i Samhället) i Göteborg , varav fem var kvinnor och fem män, hämtade vi vårt material för att kunna besvara vår frågeställning. Resul-tatet av studien visar att man som kriminell individ lätt hamnar i ett utanförskap och är stigmatiserad vilket försvårat för våra informanter att skaffa jobb, ha tillitsfulla relationer etc.
