Personuppgifteshantering och identifiering inom myndighet, skola och förtag

The authors of this thesis have studied the handling of personal information in various kinds of Organizations, because the perception is that the knowledge in this area is weak relative to the weight of the subject. The purpose of this paper has been partly to shed light on how knowledge of this area in the Organizations that we have visited during the study but also to answer questions about handling, knowledge and security, and identification of individuals in different systems. What kind of problems the processing of these data creates and why these problems occur. In the beginning of our study we understood the importance of using the correct identifier and therefore chose also to examine what the various identifiers used by the Organizations and why they chose these particular identifiers. In the qualitative analysis, Datainspektionen´s general rules and advice has been used as a basis together with the laws applicable to the Organizations to get a good picture of how management of personal information is in these Organizations. What we have found in this paper is that knowledge about how personal data is handled and what laws and rules are saying is very much dependent on how central the information is to these organization's activities. The police use so many different types of records for their organization to function well and they have very good knowledge of laws and regulations. In contrast, schools that do not handle as much of personal data themselves nor have the same knowledge among staff and do not have enough resources to cope with keeping the same knowledge base as the police. This is something that applies to all types of handling, depending on how important the information is for the organization, the better the security and knowledge in handling the data is..

Mitt emellan eller kraften till källan? : En studie om mellanchefer i en ny omgivning

There is an ongoing reorganization within media industries today as they adapt to new and changing demands - the environment is changing fast and the Organizations with it. The development of new technology is contributing to new forms of media distribution in the present media industry. The structure of media Organizations is getting flatter and the co-workers are getting a new and bigger role. All this is bringing new challenges for the leaders of the organization. Caught in the middle of these new structures is the middle manager who now is facing different demands from all sides.

4 organisationer och 825 chefer : En studie om chefslösa organisationer

This Bachelor?s thesis is about bossless Organizations. We have observed that the hierarchical structure that the majority of Organizations is structured by today is a remnant of a time long gone, and can be an obstacle for independent thinking and responsibility inside Organizations. We want to question the accepted perception that an organization is best structured in a hierarchic form. The purpose of the thesis is to provide an understanding of how a bossless organization works and to give a concrete explanation of the consequences of this kind of organizational structure. The thesis is of a qualitative nature and is designed with an inductive approach at an organizational level. We conducted a case study on a bossless company and supplemented this with secondary sources from three other bossless Organizations. It concludes that the bossless approach can work and that there are a number of advantages to benefit from it.

Outsourcing av ekonomifunktionen: En fallstudie av tre redovisningsföretag

The aim of this paper has been to investigate how accounting firms govern their Organizations with regards to the complexity in the service that they offer. The service includes the general accounting tasks which through standardization can be cost efficient, the advisory services that entail flexibility, and the relationship with the customer which needs to be taken into consideration when delivering the financial reports. These three components are important but require different approaches when it comes to governing the organization. The conducted case study has shown that the accounting firms govern their Organizations bureaucratically and mainly through behaviour and accounting controls. The advisory services demanded by customers are standardized, not analytical, and therefore do not require the firms to take flexibility into consideration.

Profileringsarbete för jämställdhet inom IT-organisationer

During our formative years, technology has always had a natural part of everyday life, and for us technology has never been particularly gendered. If this depends on the climate and the attitude of our homes, ourselves, the combination of both or something completely different is a question we have asked ourselves at times. But our approach to technology does not seem as obvious to all women, and today the IT industry is heavily dominated by men. This has meant that we have asked the question whether there is any underlying reason why so few women opt for IT courses? Is there a link between how different IT Organizations profiles and the prevailing gender ratio? The purpose of this study is to investigate whether there is any connections between how IT Organizations are related to gender issues and how the structures, attitudes and gender actually looks like in the IT industry today, and how this can be seen in their branding efforts.

Miljöinformation från teori till praktik.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the process of transferring information from science to "the field" of environmental protection in Sweden. I have studied four Swedish environmental Organizations, Greenpeace Nordic, WWF Sweden, the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation and Friends of the Earth Sweden to see how they search/get information. I have also studied the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency and its role as sender of information, since it is the authority which is responsible for environmental information in Sweden. I have used information and communication theories as a help to analyse my results. While working on this paper I realized that my methods were not the best.

Barn till psykiskt sjuka finns, men syns de? - En kvalitativ studie om hur olika verksamheter och myndigheter arbetar och samverkar för att uppmärksamma dessa barn

The aim of this study is to investigate how different Organizations and authorities work and collaborate to make children of mentally ill parents more visible. The question formulations, which are used in our research, are:- How do different Organizations and authorities work to make children of mentally ill parents more visible and how can this work be improved?- How do laws and guidelines affect the Organizations and authorities work to make children of mentally ill parents more visible? - Is there any collaboration between the different Organizations and authorities concerning work with children of mentally ill parents, and how does that work appear? A qualitative method strategy was chosen to gather an in-depth understanding of the informant?s experiences and to collect descriptive information. Six Organizations and authorities were selected from the comprehension that they could be important in giving support and because it is possible for them to pay attention to these children. Interviews were performed by using a half- structured interview guide.

Sjukfrånvaro - ett kostsamt problem

The purpose of this essay is to identify the costs of illness in different Organizations, and compare the calculated result with the actual result in their annual reports. We collected information thru interviews with the personnel manager in the selected Organizations, and used the annual reports to add necessary information. When we applied our model, we found that the selected Organizations, in some cases, have a cost of illnes which is up to seven times higher than shown in their annual reports. It?s, in general, the costs that aren?t related to the salary (additional costs), which are much higher than shown. The absence of a model that calculates the costs of illnes can result in wrongful decisions. If a model would be applied in an organization, it should increase the awearness of the actual costs of illnes, which can lead to better decisions througout the whole organization. This report is written in Swedish..

Organisationer emellan, En jämförande fallstudie av företagsinkubation

Business incubation is an important force of economic development but relatively unheard of in organization theory. This is partly due to the fact that in organization theory, meta-organization or the organization of Organizations has been neglected or left lagging as much theorization has been focused on organizing individuals. With the growing number of business incubators, and meta-Organizations in general, the need for understanding a relatively new type of organization is prevalent. This case study of the business incubator Global Business Labs Botswana (GBL) aims to clarify the organizational differences among meta-Organizations and traditional Organizations on a case level, as well as explain the underlying factors for these dissimilarities. With respect to the nature of this case study no general conclusions are drawn from the results. The inference, however, is that the organization of GBL and its incubated companies differs from the traditional organization in five elementary aspects: the weak hierarchical structure, the operational autonomy of its members, the strong focus on recruitment processes, the member identity and the lack of formal sanctions.

Välfärdsstad i förändring-Idéburna organisationers roll i dagens socialpolitik

The Swedish society and welfare model are under constant changes anddevelopment. One of the core areas in this welfare model is the social policy. By analysing the changing role of the Organizations in the civil society on a local level with a theoretical typology changes in the roles can be noted. These changes can with a model for ideal types raice questions about bigger changes concerning issues of legitimacy and accountablility. I uses qualitative method including interviews with actors on the local level, earlier reseach in the field and public documents.
