Nätdroger - Utmaningar för myndigheter, enskilt och inom ramen för samverkan

The aim of this study was to examine how the new established phenomenon of ?Internet drugs? causes challenges to organizations, both individually and in relation to collaboration. The study is based on qualitative semi-structured interviews with representatives from three organizations - one youth police unit, one medical addiction centre and four units working within social services. The theoretical approach that was used is theory about human service organizations, theory about collaboration and new institutional organizational theory. A conclusion is that the current drug classification is problematic and mainly challenging for the organizations that focus on prevention work and early interventions. Meanwhile, the phenomenon also concerns organizations who work with individuals with drug misuse and/or dependency problems that often holds some kind of treatment. In these cases it involves the use of the widespread Internet drug Spice, however, then it is associated to a side addiction, often with the aim of avoiding positive results on drug tests. Our conclusion shows that the parties concerned in current collaboration believe that the work against Internet drugs to some extent already accommodated within the existing framework for collaboration. Therefore the representatives do not have a need for collaboration specially aimed for the Internet drugs.
