The purpose of this master thesis is to present a model that illuminates the important factors when deriving technical information from market data within a company. For companies to be able to become and stay competitive in the market, product quality is an important factor. Whilst good product quality leads to customer satisfaction and loyalty, lack of quality brings costs in service and replacements. To improve product quality, the developers need information and knowledge about what quality issues affect existing products. Most companies gather data from market about known issues, but in order eliminate known quality issues in new products; this data has to be transformed into information and knowledge.

The aim of this investigation was to determine if, and in that case how, the resources of personne1 in what in this essay will be referred to as the department of students' health in four industrial municipalities had changed from 1999 until 2004. The establishment of the department of students' health could be discussed and analys ed in regard of a few concepts from new institutionaI organizational theory and studies on implementation. This thesis is basically an attempt to discuss the intrinsic intersubjective nature of the so-called ideal sciences, i.e. geometry or arithmetic. Based upon a thorough analysis of Husserls The Origin of Geometry and Derridas Edmund Husserl's Origin of Geometry: an Introduction this thesis takes geometry as an example of an ideal science. Denna studie undersöker skönlitteraturens potentiella möjlighet att utveckla historiemedvetande hos elever på svensk gymnasieskola. Syftet med undersökningen är att se om den skönlitterära författaren skapar förutsättningar för historiemedvetande och i så fall hur samt visa på hur skönlitteratur kan användas i en ämnesövergripande svensk- och historieundervisning enligt Gy11. Två romaner undersöks, den historiska romanen Boktjuven samt science-fiction-romanen Hungerspelen. Dessa romaner dekonstrueras med hjälp av analysschemat Inomvetenskaplig och utomvetenskaplig historieskrivning för att se om romanerna kombinerar historieförmedlande och skönlitterära grepp i en växelverkan mellan distans och närhet, något som enligt Carina Renander kan leda till ett potentiellt utvecklat historiemedvetande. Resultatet från denna analys kopplas sedan samman med Gy11 och exempel på undervisningssituationer presenteras.

Olika förändringsrecept har länge använts inom kommunal verksamhet i syfte att förändra och utveckla. Idag är Lean det recept som har blivit populärt inom kommunal verksamhet i Sverige. Lean i kommunal verksamhet är ett hittills relativt outforskat fenomen och för att öka kunskapen behövs fler empiriska studier i ämnet. Det saknas även forskning på hur medarbetare skapar mening i förändringsprocesser och därför finns det anledning att studera medarbetarnas upplevelser för att förstå hur de påverkas av ett recept som Lean.Studien har genomförts i syfte att, genom studier av medarbetarnas upplevelser, utveckla förståelsen för hur mening kan skapas kring Lean i kommunal verksamhet. Detta för att ge ett bidrag till den företagsekonomiska diskussionen kring Lean samt öka den empiriska kunskapen kring receptet i kommunal verksamhet.

Vi vill även belysa hur denna process går till och vilka faktorer som avgör hur företagen väljer att rekrytera.Metod: För att uppfylla vårt syfte med uppsatsen har vi gjort litteraturstudier inom rekryteringsbranschen, personalhantering, organisation och ledarskap. För att få en bredd förståelse för hur det fungerar och ser ut i besöksnäringen började vi vårt uppsatsarbete med att göra en förstudie med företag från branschen. Vidare har vi utfört en fallstudie på Hotell & Reseverket för att få djupare förståelse för hur rekrytering processen kan se ut.

This thesis investigates how teachers in political science work with global issues in their teaching. It investigates the implementation within a specific area. Implementation is a problematic concept and in debate it is often accused of not working.This thesis finds out whether dissatisfaction exists among teachers when it comes to how municipal schools work with global issues.The investigation consists of three interviews made with teachers in political science, all from municipal upper secondary schools, in three different cities.The result shows that dissatisfaction exists among the teachers. Lack of time and lack of dialogue between the teachers and the principles are described as the main hindrances to reach the goals of the implementation. Fokus låg på hur makten drabbar huvudkaraktärerna; syftet var att notera hur de gör motstånd mot maktutövningen och att ta fasta på alternativa maktrelationer som kan influera verkligt politiskt arbete mot en bättre, mer jämlik värld. Att använda Foucaults idéer på liknande sätt är vanligt. Analysen består av sex sekvenser som utspelar sig på planeten Vinter i The Left Hand of Darkness. The aim of this master thesis is to examine the opinions of the students of Linköping University regarding the role of the university library in their learning process. The study addresses the student?s expectations and satisfaction regarding the library services. The questions we seek to answer are: What are the students? conceptions of Linköping University Library as a part of their learning process? What expectations do the students have regarding Linköping University Library? Does the library fulfil the students? expectations? In what way has the library?s pedagogical ambition reached the students? What are the students? opinions about the user education? The study is based on a web survey complemented with interviews.

The purpose of this study is to examine to what extent the senior level Swedish school can be viewed as supporting, or counteracting, a colonial discourse that legitimizes global and national injustices. The study is executed through a discourse analysis of five textbooks in social science for senior level Swedish schools.Using elements from Foucault and Edward Said a theoretical framework is constructed, in which a colonial discourse is perceived as structured around four clusters of ideas, namely (i) the use of dichotomies, (ii) the concept of progress and civilization, (iii) the construction of -we- as synonymous with (ii), and (iv) the construction of -the others- as the opposite of (ii) and, therefore, the opposite of -us-.The results show that a colonial discourse is still highly present in the textbooks, in that the texts are structured around dichotomies such as tradition/modernity and democracy/dictatorship. Sweden and the Western world are perceived as closely associated with democracy, freedom, and modernity, whereas -the others- of the world are being associated with e.g. poverty, conflict, tradition, and ignorance. -The others- within Sweden, i.e.

The research of organizational structure and control in the audit profession suggest that there is a contradiction in that auditors should both nurture collegialities while they at the same time have their own responsibility for their individual development and career. This creates a competitive situation among colleagues who in return are expected to maintain a good social relationship and team spirit with each individual. Subsequently, being part of the collegiality and being highly individualistic, gives rise to a theoretical dilemma where these opposing forces are supposed to coincide with each other.The purpose of this paper is to create a bigger understanding of how auditors at major accounting firms can handle the conflict that arises. In order to explore this dilemma, we conducted a qualitative study based on an abductive approach. We have made seven semi-structured interviews from a localistic view.

Cyberpunkgenren definieras som en genre med en uttalad mörk framtidsbild med dystopiska inslag där bioteknik och artificiell intelligens är återkommande inslag och där majoriteten av verken som berör genren utspelar sig på natten. Syftet med denna studie har varit att undersöka om förändringar av det stereotypiska nattelementet som cyberpunkgenren förknippas med anses vara genrebrytande. Förändringen som gjordes var att nattbelysningen byttes ut mot dagsbelysning i en cyberpunkmiljö. För att genomföra detta skapades en stereotypisk cyberpunkmiljö med hjälp av datorgrafik som sedan presenterades i två versioner, en i nattbelysning och en i dagsbelysning. Bilderna visades därefter upp för en informantgrupp som var kunnig inom science fiction och cyberpunkgenren och som därefter fick besvara ett antal frågor under semistrukturerade kvalitativa intervjuer..
