The aim of this report is to examine the possibilities to use network theories to perform vulnerability analysis on complex networks. The scoop of this work is also to improve the possibilities to chart, analyze and present the vulnerability in a power grid. In this report it has been, using power outage statistics, possible to verify, that network theories can be used to evaluate the vulnerability of an infrastructure network. However further studies to establish values on how vulnerable a network is are needed..

Machine-to-machine (M2M) communication is a phase in the digital revolution connecting computing devices with each other bringing along new business opportunities for companies. Although being a fast growing field it has not been researched to any greater extent, particularly not within the academical literature. Consequently, information on how M2M can affect organisations seems strongly needed. This thesis uses three perspectives, derived from already recognised business benefits of M2M, as an aid to select proper theoretical tools to investigate the phenomenon. The purpose of this thesis is to gain knowledge of how an M2M adoption affects a firm?s organisation, customer offerings and customer relations.

Mot bakgrund av den stora mängd farligt gods som transporteras i Sverige har syftet i denna rapport varit att undersöka hur dessa transporter kan beaktas vid samhällsplanering. Denna reflexiva rapport undersöker processen att utveckla ett implementationsförslag för ett användargränssnitt till ett spel som ska lära ut riskhantering till körskoleelever. Den reflexiva rapporten genomför också en analys av användargränssnittet och innehåller därför en kort genomgång av riktlinjer och gränssnittsprinciper från människa-datorinteraktion (MDI) samt teorin om Flow. Den reflexiva rapporten avslutas med en utvärdering av arbetsprocessen och lärdomar kring arbetet. In the years 1996-2001 the European Union`s copyright-directive was drawn up. This directive led to much lobbying activities from both copyright holders and library organisations like EBLIDA and IFLA. The Internet and filesharing networks like Napster had led to strong reactions among some copyright holders. Internet gave people an easy opportunity of accessing copyright protected material. Some researchers of copyright have written books where they state that the copyright holders utilize authors fear of illegal copying to strengthen the copyright laws, and by that benefit economical.

Several previous studies have in different ways tried to explain how new social movements are affected by the different sets of political and social contexts within different states and societies. This essay asks the question how much the institutional aspects within the theory of Political Opportunity Structures (POS) have determined how the rather successful animal rights movements in the Netherlands and Great Britain have mobilized and acted to gain progress. Since the Netherlands and Great Britain contains different kinds of political and institutional contexts, these two states are found to be suitable for a comparative analysis of the theory's durability. A qualitative portrayal of both state's institutional political opportunity structures are presented. Then the mobilization, progress, and actions of the political party ?Party for the Animals? in the Netherlands, and a wide group of animal rights organisations in Great Britain are determined.

This thesis discusses the Swedish drug policy and its principle of prohibition. In the world of today there is an ongoing discussion about prohibition and the concept of harm reduction. This thesis is an analysis of Swedish drug policy and an investigation as to whether the prohibition concept is in a state of decline. It tries to answer the question; is the Swedish drug policy moving away from its prohibition principle towards a harm reduction principle? The recent debate, articles, documents and earlier research has been analyzed in order to find answers to my questions.

Samt jämföra teorier inom organisations- och kommunikationsvetenskap samt informationsdesign och resultaten från den empiriska undersökningen..

Social networks have increased significantly during the latest decades, but what does the cooperation include and how does the network processes look like? Networks are not specific for communities in the 2000?s or for that matter human organisations, but the ability to build networks and introduce more actors to the organisation have become easier with today?s communication technology. The study is about the Norrköping Municipality membership in the transnational network Sweden Emilia Romagna Network (SERN). It gives an insight into how networking and cooperation can be seen by politicians and officials, based on mission statements and the reason why a municipality choose to participate in transnational networks. The study aims to examine how Norrköping Municipality uses the SERN network and what the network have resulted in since the beginning of the municipality membership in 2005. It is a qualitative study which involves interviews with officials and politicians from the Municipality of Norrköping and textual material from SERN?s strategy documents and policies.

Flera olika studier visar att det finns brister i de insatser som kommunerna erbjuder barn som upplever våld, detta trots att regeringen skärpt lagstiftningen för målgruppen. Några kommuner i Sverige har börjat använda en ny metod, Kids club, som specifikt är utformad för gruppen barn som upplevt våld. Vårt syfte med uppsatsen är att genom att undersöka motiven till att kommuner vill implementera en ny metod för barn som upplevt våld, Kids club, förstå vilken form av motivation som ligger till grund för denna vilja. Uppsatsen har en kvalitativ ansats, där vi genom att genomföra intervjuer med representanter från olika kommuner skapar förståelse för motiven bakom implementering av Kids club. De slutsatser vi fann i uppsatsen är att det finns två teman bakom motiven, dels enskilda personers motiv samt kommunen som organisations motiv.

Denna uppsats behandlar ämnet investeringskalkylering i ett större företag. Investeringskalkyler behövs för att kunna fatta rationella investeringsbeslut. Utgångspunkten för detta arbete har varit en uppdragsstudie av ett större investeringsprojekt hos LKAB. De teorier som vi har studerat säger att investeringsprojekt ofta får ett sämre utfall i verkligen än vad kalkylen visade. Syftet med uppsatsen var att se hur väl det verkliga utfallet av investeringen stämmer överens med det kalkylerade, hur processen vid investeringskalkylering ser ut och hur företaget behandlar risker i samband med investeringar.
