The group of elderly people in Sweden will increase significantly in the future and science point out that the future elderly people will not accept today?s standards and offers of assistance in today?s public elderly care. Therefore public elderly care stands before a significant challenge in terms of development that has to be sustainable. New research also points out that middle managers can be a great strategic resource, and a founder of success, in the challenge of sustainable development. The aim of the report was to increase the knowledge about what middle managers in public elderly care think sustainable development has to embrace, when it comes to quality and personnel administration, in order to meet the needs of the future elderly people.

There is an ongoing evolution in scholarly communication. The traditional way of communicating scholarly results through scientific journals is beginning to be replaced by other means of dissemination. One new channel for scholars to communicate their results is digital publication in so-called open archives. An open archive is a kind of full text database, where a scholar may archive/publish his or her articles, as a complement or a substitute to publishing in scientific journals. There are discipline-oriented archives and institutional archives.

Detta arbete behandlar avtalsbundenhet, med särskild inriktning på huruvida det är möjligt att avtalsbundenhet inträffar mellan förhandlingsparter under förhandlingar inom svensk avtalsrätt. Avtalslagens regler ger inte några klara regler på området och det går inte heller att skönja någon tydlig linje i varken doktrin eller praxis. Dagens kommersiella avtal föregås ofta av långa, komplexa och resurskrävande förhandlingar och står i kontrast till avtalslagens enkelt utformade anbud-accept modell som tillkom för snart ett sekel sedan. Den nordiska avtalsrätten vilar på att en part skall kunna förlita sig på motpartens agerande vilket i slutändan skall leda till att ett bindande avtal kommer till stånd. I praktiken är dock lojalitetspliktens legitimitet ifrågasatt och det råder oklarhet i huruvida det går att successivt bli bunden till ett avtal.

The United States is one of few Western nations that administers capital punishment to their condemned criminals. Texas has executed the most inmates of any state in the U.S. This prompted questions about the psychological characteristics of death row inmates. The purpose of this essay is to widen the perspective on inmates serving capital sentences by analyzing their final statements. The focus of this essay was centered on acute anxiety of death among inmates, visible in their final statements, as a result of an accelerated process of dying.

The aim of this study is to examine the media coverage of gender-neutral marriage from an intersectional perspective ? with particular regard to gender, sexual orientation and religion. By focusing on the spokespeople who appears in the articles we have made an attempt to answer questions regarding who was heard in the debate on gender-neutral marriage and how the homosexual couples are portrayed in relation to the above criteria.The collected material consists of 89 articles, published in 2009, in Swedish newspapers which have been analysed by using quantitative content analysis. Ten articles have also been selected for a critical discourse analysis based on Norman Fairclough?s approach.

Prisons are for many an unknown world, and few know about the prison culture which includes unwritten rules, power structures, interactions and relationships between inmates and correctional employees.While many think that Swedish prisons are too comfortable,inmates are facing extreme stress due to surveillance and detention, by depriving inmates their possibility to shape their own lives. When the inmates is deprived of control over their own life?s the penal system have great power to shape and to influence the inmates.The purpose of this paper is to investigate prisoners' experiences of treatment and exercise of power in prisons. Starting point is to examine what are the kinds of relationships between prison officers and inmates from a power perspective, if there is any difference between the closed and open prisons and how the inmates affected by the structures that exist.Based on my overall purpose, and with my informant´s stories which revealed a number of similar points, four main headings were developed; Mass media and society´s view, and unknown world, interaction between inmates and prison officers and consequences.Prison officers with the role as a contact persons as well and other staff which work close to the inmates play a significant role by supporting through motivational interviewing and can help the inmates to gain insight about their life situation and actions. My informant?s underlined that a good contact person can either help or discourage.Inmates who contributed with their experiences express that there is a big difference between open-and closed prisons.

Efter att ha tagit del av kommittébetänkandet Skriftlig bekräftelse av vissa telefonavtal1 som utreder huruvida skriftlig accept bör krävas när avtal sluts över telefon avseende bland annat premiepensioner, har vi kunnat konstatera att det kan finnas ett behov av stärkt reglering av avtalsingående över telefon även vid försäljning av andra finansiella tjänster. Med finansiella tjänster avses banktjänster, tjänster som avser krediter, försäkringar, aktieförsäljning samt privata och individuella pensioner.Vid försäljning över telefon, när näringsidkare kontaktar en konsument, är konsumenten i en underordnad position i förhållande till näringsidkaren. Anledningen till detta är att samtalet sker på näringsidkarens initiativ och att konsumenten saknar kunskap om de ofta komplexa finansiella tjänsterna samt de avtalsrättsliga mekanismerna. Detta medför att konsumenten inte med säkerhet vet om ett avtal faktiskt ingåtts eller vad avtalet får för konsekvenser för denne. Det förekommer dessutom att försäljning sker med aggressiva metoder och att näringsidkare riktar in sig på särskilda målgrupper med bristande kunskap avseende tjänsterna.

The purpose of this essay is using theories about labeling and social bonds to study whether a measure of rehabilitation for the psychically disabled contributes to a return to a normal status as not-labeled. Partly we examine whether the activities organized by the regulation-ruled authorities during the work of rehabilitation lead to shame or pride, and partly how these activities are organized regarding the processes that lead to the emotions pride or shame among the participants. Method: qualitative semi-structured face-to-face interviews with professional rehabilitation-actors at the Public Employment Office (PEO), the Social Insurance Office (SIO), the Social Service (SOS), the Psychiatry and the Division of Labour Market (AME).Conclusions: the Psychiatry clients are treated with respect, may participate, and communication is characterized by attunement, therefore strong social bonds can be built. On the contrary, among the other examined activities, we found many elements that arouse shame. Since these are more ruled by regulations, the result is engulfment and demands on conformity, because the compromise-possibilities are almost non-existent.

Revisorn förväntas uppfylla flera roller. Dessa roller har dock en konkurrerande status och revisorn kan omöjligt uppfylla alla samtidigt. En revision kan därför principiellt aldrig utföras enligt idealfallet. Vi pekar ut hur rollernas konfliktsituationer kan aktualiseras som främst oberoendeproblem genom att studera restaurangbranschen där rollkonflikterna är extra tydliga. Oberoendeproblematiken är sedan tidigare väl känd och diskuterad, men vi hoppas att exemplifieringen med restaurangbranschen där över 70 % av företagen fuskar , skall belysa effekten av problemen samt dess omfattning.

My master?s thesis is a study of acquisition of photographies during 1958-2008. The questions I proceed from is what patterns lies behind the Royal library's acquisition of photography and how the process of acquisition looks like. The theoretical base which I lean on consists partly of a problematization of the process of cultural heritage and partly of organizational theory. The problematization of the process of cultural heritage is my foundation of this essay.
