Sänkta sjöars inverkan på ytvatten i Västerbottens kustland : Samband mellan sänkningsnivåer och vattenkemi i sjöar på sulfidrika sedimentjordar

Lake lowering in sulphide-rich areas is currently a major environmental impact for surface water. This study focuses on whether there is a relationship between a gradient of lake lowering and surface water impacts in areas of sulphide-rich sediments, in order to better understand their contribution of heavy metals and sulfuric acid. Also, is it a reasonable method to use the reduced lake area in order to quantify the gradient? The survey was conducted by collecting water samples from reference lakes and lowered lakes from south to north in coastal areas within the county of Västerbotten. Water samples were then analyzed for TOC, pH, conductivity, anions, base cations, alkalinity, acidity, sulfate, Al, Cd, Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn and Pb.

Ambulanssjuksköterskors upplevelser av stress inom ambulanssjukvården

Specialistsjuksköterskor inom ambulanssjukvård har ett stort ansvar att ge kvalificerad omvårdnad till svårt sjuka patienter och komplicerade olycksfall. Vid dessa situationer finns det möjlighet att uppleva stress. Syftet med denna intervjustudie var att beskriva ambulanssjuksköterskors upplevelse av stress i ambulanssjukvården och hur stress kan påverka den prehospitala vården. I intervjustudien har åtta ambulanssjuksköterskor intervjuats. Intervjutexten har sedan analyserats med kvalitativ innehållsanalys.

Lagring av kyla med horisontella markvärmeväxlare för kylning av koncepthus i Mellanöstern

Norconsult AB has developed a solarhousing concept, a house designed for the warm climate in the Middle East andwith large quantities of solar panels installed. The cooling system for the house was designed in an earlier report, the purpose of this thesis is to investigate the possibility of short and long term storage of thermal energy via an underground energy storage volume.Two different designs of the storage and three different filling materials have been integrated into a model to simulate different cases. The first design consisted of pipes installed in the ground, without insulation. The second design consisted of an insulated concrete box installed to prevent thermal energy from the surrounding soil to flow towards the lower temperature regions within the storage. The three different filling materials were dry saudi sand, water saturated saudi sand and the filling material used by the client for energy storage in Sweden.The results from the simulations show that neither of the designs, regardless of the filling material, managed to extract enough thermal energy from the house to the ground to uphold the demands of indoor climate.

EN JÄMFÖRELSESTUDIE AV PLAST- OCH GLASHEMOCYTOMETRAR FÖR BERÄKNING AV BLODCELLER I VENÖST OCH KAPILLÄRT HELBLOD

Hematology-instruments that analyze blood cells can at specific cases be followed by manual counting with a hemocytometer. The plastic hemocytometer which has a fixed coverslip and is assigned for disposable use, appears to reduce the problems arising from the use of the traditional glass hemocytometer, for instance coverslip-application difficulty and dust particles. Capillary whole blood sampling may be useful for patients at the emergency department and in addition, a smaller volume of blood is taken compared to venous blood sampling. This study will focus on the platelet- and leukocyte count (PLT and WBC) in venous and capillary blood, in order to compare the plastic- and glass hemocytometers with Sysmex XN-2000 (Sysmex Corporation, Kobe, Japan), and verify if capillary whole blood sampling can be used for the measurement of these hematological parameters. 30 subjects donated both capillary- and venous blood samples and these blood samples were analyzed with glass- and plastic hemocytometers with Sysmex XN-2000 as the reference method.

Xlight-Retro : En lampa för offentliga inomhusmiljöer

The company Sound Precision has developed a new Line Array loudspeaker system (VHA-40). When using this system, their customers need computer aid to get the best possible sound-quality and control of sound levels for the whole audience. The aim of this thesis is to develop a truly useful sound quality simulator for the VHA-40. The system will help the sound engineers to position the loudspeakers for optimal sound by simulating loudspeaker configurations and visualizing the resulting sound quality and quantity. To solve this a human-centered design (HCD) approach is taken to implement a system that is truly useful for the users, meaning that they will use it more and hence deliver better sound for the audience.

Valet mellan MRT och DT vid carotisstenos: En litteraturstudie

Vid diagnostisering av halskärlsstenos återfinns olika preferenser på metoder från sjukhus till sjukhus. Denna studie hade som mål att undersöka vilken av dessa två modaliteter, MRT och DT, som hade mest vetenskapligt stöd för diagnostiseringen av halskärlsstenos. Syftet med studien var att via en evidensbaserad systematisk litteraturöversikt försöka framhäva vilken av de två modaliteterna som är optimal för att diagnostisera halskärlsstenos. Litteraturöversikten utgick ifrån en framställd frågeställning efter förstahandsgranskning av relevanta artiklar; Vilken modalitet är mest tillförlitlig gällande diagnostiseringen av carotisstenos? Litteratursökningen genomfördes och fann 11 artiklar efter granskning som passade för den utsatta frågeställningen.

Konstruktion av en optimal balk med Tikhonovregularisering

I detta kandidatexamensarbete studeras ett inverst problem: att för en jämnt fördelad last numeriskt minimera energin som tas upp i en fritt upplagd balk. I detta problem antas balken vara indelad i ett givet antal lika långa stycken med konstant böjstyvhet och minimeringen sker med avseende på dessa styckens böjstyvheter. För en fin indelning av balken riskerar den numeriska metoden att bli instabil. Målet med denna studie är undersöka om Tikhonovregularisering kan stabilisera den numeriska metoden i fallet med en fin indelning. I lösningen av balkproblemet används Bernoulli-Eulers ekvation och Lagranges multiplikatormetod för att härleda den målfunktion som skall minimeras.

Optimering av blekeriet i CTMP-linjen vid Rottneros Bruk

At Rottneros pulp mill mechanical pulp is bleached with hydrogen peroxide. The changes of bleaching chemicals that are used for different grades are taken from bleaching tables; however these tables are old and need to be updated. The purpose of this thesis was to be the basis of new documentation.In this thesis three pulps where studied with the aim to find the optimal bleaching chemical changes (total NaOH/VP-quote) for each pulp. The pulps were taken from the filter before the bleaching tower and the pulps were bleached in the lab. The most important pulp property in this study was the brightness and how that was influenced by the chemical dosages.

AIMS AB is a Swedish company that develops and sells inertial sensor systems. A new product is under research which basically is an aided inertial navigation system where unwanted drift is eliminated. This can be done by integrating a GPS reciever into the system and fuse measurement data from GPS and IMU. Such a product is useful in racing, where engineers always are searching for the optimal performance and the shortest lap times. Today the only feedback the engineers and mechanics get from their work is the driver?s comments and lap times.

Interventioner för att främja viktnedgång hos vuxna patienter -en litteraturstudie

Övervikt och fetma är ett hälsoproblem världen över och de två senaste årtionden har en ökning skett bland överviktiga. Syftet med litteraturstudien var att beskriva interventioner riktat mot att främja viktnedgång. Metoden som använts var en litteraturstudie där tolv vetenskapliga artiklar valdes ut efter artikelsökningar i CINAHL, PubMed samt manuella sökningar. Dessa kvalitetsgranskades sedan med hjälp av granskningsmallar av Polit och Beck (2012). Artiklarna redogjorde för studier genomförda med både kvalitativ och kvantitativ metod.

Fluidrörelse- och värmetransportsmodellering i götugn

The purpose of this thesis for Sapa Heat Transfer is to examine a furnace in which aluminium is pre-heated before hot rolling. The project is modeled in a computer environment in which the air flow in the furnace and the heat transfer to the aluminium solids are included. The computer environment and its governing equations, as well as boundary conditions and generalizations, are presented and explained.The simulations are based on two models. The first model has an asymmetric solid placement, which is how it looks in today's ovens. It is validated against collected data.

Den sämsta målgruppen att lura? : En studie av unga nyhetskonsumenters attityder till native advertising

With the increased volume of commercial content online, some news sites have adopted so-called native advertising on their websites to convey marketing messages more discreetly. As an increased share of advertising budgets is spent on this form of advertising this essay aims to examine its news consumer?s attitudes towards the phenomenon. The research was carried out through a qualitative study where news consumers discussed their attitudes in two separate focus groups. This was analyzed with the help of the previous studies Advertisement - an uninvited guest? and Banner Blindness as well as theories including theory of science hermeneutics, reception analysis, convergence culture, brand schema, advertising schema and ad- brand attitude.The results show that in most cases native advertising is met with indifferent attitudes but in some cases also confusion, which could lead to negative attitudes towards the ad and the news site.

Från skilda världar till "Valet är ditt! Inte maktens!" : En analys av Aftonbladets debatt- och insändarsidor 1999 till 2005

AbstractPurpose/Aim: To investigate how the positions between the paper, the public and the elite in society have changed on Aftonbladets Op-Eds and Letter to the editor-pages between 1999 to 2005. In a wider context this means Aftonbladets potential to contribute to the role of the press as a forum of public debate.Material/Method: The study focuses on one week during 1999, 2002 and 2005. Here a quantitative contents analyse with inspiration from conversation (dialogue) analyse has been used.Main results: The study shows that the paper has strengthened its position over this period of time. Mainly by taking a more active role in forming and encouraging the debate. The public was given more space in 2002, then in 1999 and 2005.

Pelletering av tallspån : grundläggande studier

Wood pellets are an upgraded product of residuals from several wood processing industries, for example saw mills and pulp industries. The pellets are produced by pressing the milled and dried sawdust to cylindrical units with a higher density than the initial raw material. Pellets have great benefits compared to the raw material: high energy per volume, good transport and storage properties and homogeneity. Several parameters collaborate in the whole process, which makes it complex. Wood is a heterogeneous material, chemically and structurally dependent on wood parts, habitat and storage procedures.

3D-byggnadsmodeller utifrån takkonstruktioner : Lagring, hantering och bearbetning

A growing number of cities and municipalities in Sweden begin to work with city models in 3D. For the most part the models are used for visualizations of ongoing planning processes, but also for the analysis of noise, shadow studies and environmental disaster simulations.Gothenburg continues to develop the use of 3D maps in municipal operations and is demanding a way to create building elements (walls), which generates in 3D buildings, from roof constructions that are mapped from the primary map. A method has been investigated in the present study. The results are then presented as a 3D model of buildings, along with a terrain map that will facilitate the localization of the area. The created 3D buildings are then compared with roof-data from the primary map to see how well they harmonize with each other.
