To regularly remove woody vegetation along the roadside of forest roads is an important part of the road maintenance, since the vegetation binds moisture in the road side and, thus, the removal makes the road drying faster with results in improved bearing capacity. Vegetation removal also makes it easier to upgrade the road by material recycling from the ditch and, moreover, the visibility along the road is maintained.The aim of the study was to evaluate what type of chain flail is the best and most cost-effective for removal of different kind of woody vegetation along forest roadsides.Time studies were made on two chain flails when removing woody vegetation in three different classes; easy-, middle- and heavy shrub removal. The studied flails were one light and rather simple flail named Optimal M160 and a heavier and more advanced flail named Slagkraft H210. The removal was made according to Holmen Skogs? specification and the quality of the cleaning was measured by objective belt inventory.The productivity was higher with the heavy flail within all cleaning classes.

Horses are made to eat mainly roughage and it is essential for optimal health to offer them an appropriate amount of roughage with good hygienic and nutritional qualities. To produce good hay at the right time and be able to keep the hygienic quality until next summer is a problem. This has the effect that horse owners today choose haylage and silage to a larger extent. Science in this area is scarce, i.e. if the change from hay to silage has any effect on the horse.

The financial crisis in 2008, effected companies around the globe and forced them to change their operational strategies, in order to survive. Companies with international links needed to consider external effects and due to that adapt their strategies on a global level. Demands for goods and service were decreasing and companies could only manage the cost during a recession to not face bankruptcy. Organisations need to reconsider their optimal strategy as this will determine their future outcome when managing a crisis as the one in 2008. British Airways - Air Cargo is a global company with an international network which serves about 80 countries, with about 200 destinations.

The Swedish processor Findus contracts approximately 500 pea producers annually to secure the company?s supply of green peas for human consumption. A production contract, which has had roughly the same design for decades, regulates the relation between Findus and the pea producers. Agriculture is typically a risky business. The main sources of risk in agricultural production are production risk and price risk.

As competing organizations struggle to become more effective, one field stands out as one of the vital keys to success; internal communication. Even small errors in information handling can end up into obstacles that seem impossible to overcome. Managers constantly need to adjust the internal communication to fit variables that mirror the structure of the organization. This thesis is a study about how and in what magnitude structure affects organization?s internal communication.We have done qualitative interviews with McDonald?s and Diesel, two different global organizations within the branch of service business.

Idag ifrågasätter allt fler inställningen och menar att den har lett fram till ett demokratiskt underskott. På grund av underskottet menar kritiker att EU:s legitimitet påverkas negativt. Legitimitet underlättar för en auktoritet att få sina beslut accepterade och det får folk att följa regler och lagar. Genom Scharpfs begrepp om inputlegitimitet, deltagandet i beslutsprocesser, och outputlegitimitet, den upplevda effektiviteten av beslut, har debatten nyanserats.Som en följd av utvecklingen tilldelas unionens outputlegitimitet allt mindre uppmärksamhet samtidigt som fler intresserar sig för legitimitetens inputsida.

In a time whenenvironmental issues and greenhouse effects are increasing, we also see a future of rising energyprices. With this perspective, we have in this bachelor thesis in the Building Environment at theRoyal Institute of Technology, KTH, in Stockholm decided to focus on the renewable energysource, solar energy.The energy from solar radiation is a free resource and does not have any negative effects uponthe environment.

Bakgrund: Palliativ vård är en globalt växande specialitet inom hälso- och sjukvård vilken ställer höga krav på sjuksköterskan både personligt och professionellt. Sjuksköterskans roll inom den palliativ vården är omfattande och ett flertal aspekter påverkar sjuksköterskans upplevelser av att vårda en döende människa.Syfte: Att beskriva sjuksköterskors upplevelser av att vårda en döende människa.Metod: En litteraturöversikt baserad på tio kvalitativa vårdvetenskapliga artiklar, publicerade mellan år 1997-2012. Sökningar i databaserna CINAHL, PubMed och SweMed+ har kompletterats med manuella sökningar. De valda artiklarna analyserades utifrån Fribergs metod för dataanalys.Resultat: Tre övergripande teman identifierades; det professionella, det personliga och privata samt det komplexa vårdandet. Det som genomgående belysts i resultatet är att sjuksköterskors upplevelser av att vårda en döende människa beskrivits som krävande men samtidigt stimulerande.

The purpose of this essay is to examine the impact on children playing at a preschool yard that is designed with traditional playground equipment, and a nature-like yard without traditional playground equipment. How these respective environments influence children?s play, which other factors in the external environment that affect the game and whether the theories in the literature correspond with the results were important questions for the essay. To answer these questions a case study was applied onto two specific preschool centers, both located in Malmö. Through literature studies, inventories, observations and interviews with staff and children, a picture become clear of how the children use the yard and how their play is affected by the design of it.

Bakgrund Den 1 januari 2010 började lagen om valfrihetssystem tillämpas inom primärvården i Sverige och det innebär att samtliga landsting ska ha infört vårdval, ett system där medborgare får välja vilken vårdenhet de vill vända sig till. Det är en av de senaste reformerna som har skett inom den svenska sjukvården och ett aktuellt ämne som har bidragit till diskussioner. Förespråkare menar att valfrihet är en självklar rättighet, medan kritiker hävdar att patienter är för dåligt informerade eller för sjuka för att kunna fatta rationella beslut. Det kan vårdgivare utnyttja genom att överbehandla patienterna. Vidare anser de att systemet endast bidrar till ökade kostnader.Syfte Syftet är att utvärdera hur vårdvalsmodeller har fungerat inom primärvården för att identifiera nyckelfaktorer som landstingen kan ta hänsyn till för att utveckla sina modeller.Genomförande Uppsatsen är en fallstudie av vårdval som har genomförts med hjälp av teorier, tidigare studier och intervjuer med insatta personer i fyra landsting, landstinget Halland, landstinget i Östergötland, landstinget Västmanland samt Stockholm läns landsting.Resultat Viktiga faktorer som har identifierats för ett fungerande vårdval är valmöjlighet, information samt ett väl utformat ersättningssystem som minskar risken för selektering, s.k.

Syftet med det här arbetet är att ge en inblick i hur miljöberikning har utvecklats samt hur det kan påverka stereotypa beteenden hos djur i djurparksmiljöer. Stereotypi är repetitiva beteendemönster som uppkommer av frustration och/eller av funktionsnedsättning i hjärnan. Stereotypa beteenden ses som tydliga tecken på nedsatt välfärd och förekommer i stort sett hos alla djurparksdjur i olika former. De mest förekommande stereotypa beteendena är s.k. "pacing" och oral stereotypi.
