Watching television (TV) has been given a new meaning, you don?t have to book a specific time, a specific date if you don?t want to miss the program you were planning to see. In Sweden now days we can watch TV in lot of different ways, whenever we choose to do so. In this thesis I attempt to explain and document the process of shaping a tvformat, the development and adaptation to a time when the TV medium is in a change. Plus a look at how the television audiences relate to their use of it.

The purpose of this paper was to understand internal communication?s critical tradition by studying the interface of the subjective experience and the objective behavior within a management team. During almost two years this group was observed, several semi-structured interviews were conducted and a specific incident was analyzed. The interview texts where analyzed, using the Meaning Constitution Analysis developed by Roger Sages (2010) at Lund University. The observations were summarized in sociograms showing relationships in the organization.

Forskningen om teorin gällande sambandsförhållandet socioekonomisk utveckling och demokrati, även kallad moderniseringsteorin, har pågått sedan slutet av 1950-talet och pågår än idag. Jag har gett mig in på att göra en egen studie av sambandsförhållandet för att försöka verifiera eller falsifiera teorin. Detta är ingen enkel uppgift då det är mycket svårt att bevisa att det är just variabeln X som orsakat variabeln Y, men jag har gjort ett försök.Jag har gjort en kvantitativ studie där jag mäter sambandet mellan socioekonomisk utveckling och demokrati, mätt i HDI respektive Freedom House frihetsindex, i alla länder som det finns tillgänglig data för. Som ett komplement till detta har jag även gjort en mindre fallstudie av Kuba som är ett avvikande fall från teorin. Kuba har hög socioekonomisk utveckling men är odemokratiskt styrt, frågan är varför?.

From a democratic point of view the existing organisation with municipality sections in the city of Malmö, Sweden will be examined. The matter of how an alternative organisation should be structured will also be discussed. Two incompatible models of democracy theories will be arranged: libertarian democracy and participation democracy. The intentions with the reform were primary to increase the civic participation. By applying those values that are used to characterize participation democracy it will be shown whether the local participation has actually increased.

This paper presents a study of the computer game ?Minesweeper?. The aim of the game is to search through a rectangular area of mined squares without hitting any mines. By using a strategy based on making every operation as safe as possible, series of the game have been simulated. The size of the playground is four times four squares.

The aim with this study is to achieve an increased understanding and knowledge about terrorist groups. The factors that the study come to be focused around is the groups' objectives, their organization, which enemies they have and with which means that they use for there terrorism. In order to respond to this aim the four different terrorist groups, Colombian revolutionary armed forces (FARC), Baskien - our native country and our freedom (ETA), red Army fraction (RAF) and al Qaida is studied.To achieve the aim of this study the methods qualitative text analysis and comparative method is being used. It is designed also within the framework of this study a categorization model that is used as method in order to do a division of the studied groups based on their objective, enemies, organization and means. The model is also constructed to be used in order to analyze others terrorist groups than these current groups.The result of the study is presented in the categorization model on page 32 in the essay..

Knäledsproblem är vanligt förekommande i Sverige såväl som i resten av västvärlden. Knäledsskador orsakade av yttre våld, artros och andra degenerativa sjukdomar är de vanligaste orsakerna till denna åkomma. Påverkad livskvalité, sjukskrivning från arbete, social isolering, smärta och allmänt lidande är konsekvenser som de drabbade personer kan uppleva. Syftet med studien var att beskriva kvinnors upplevelse av att genomgå en operation med total knäplastik. Fem kvinnor som genomgått en total knäledsplastik de senaste tre månaderna deltog i studien.

Vi har undersökt hur självskyddsinstruktörer ser på den självskyddsträning som bedrivs idag. Vi har bett dem berätta om vilka tekniker som de och andra poliser använder i tjänsten och jämfört detta med vad som lärs ut på polisutbildningar och polismyndigheter. Respondenterna har även gett sin syn på hur självskyddsträningen kan förbättras. Undersökningen har gjorts genom kvalitativa intervjuer med sex stycken självskyddsinstruktörer med olika bakgrund, tjänsteår och kön. Resultatet av undersökningen är att samtliga respondenter anser att det finns för lite tid för självskyddsträning.

Velofarynxinsufficiens (VPI) innebär en otillräcklig förmåga att stänga passagen mellan mun- och näshåla. En ofullständig slutning får konsekvenser framför allt för talet, då luft passerar genom näsan även vid orala språkljud och leder till en avvikande talklang och artikulation. Dessa avvikelser kan vara mer eller mindre framträdande i talet och innebära allt ifrån en lätt förvrängning av talklangen till att talet blir oförståeligt för omgivningen, vilket får allvarliga konsekvenser för möjligheten att kommunicera verbalt. VPI kan behandlas på flera sätt, dels protetiskt, dels med kirurgi. Deltagarna i denna studie har alla genomgått operation med uppåtbaserad farynxlambå, som är en väldokumenterad och effektiv metod för att behandla VPI. En vanligt förekommande biverkning till operationen är luftvägshinder, exempelvis nästäppa, snarkning och sömnapné.  Syftet med studien var att undersöka deltagarnas egen uppfattning om operationsresultatet gällande tal och biverkningar, med hjälp av en enkät för självskattning.

The economic conditions for Swedish dairy farmers are constantly changing. The numbers of producers are declining and the economic conditions for dairy production are weakening debilitating. To improve the economic situation for a farm a hired contractor is a possible solution since previous studies show that machinery cooperation may be beneficial for the farmers. The aim of this study is to examine the possibility for farmers to cut costs by hiring a contractor for harvesting silage. A comparison between using own machinery and hire a contractor is the starting point of this study. Another aim is to discuss the farmer?s decision process when achieving today?s situation and to determinate what factors affect their decisions. The study is based on cases selected from four farms that today have chosen not to or only to some extent, hire a contractor for harvesting silage.

Abstract During the last 15 years, the former ?really existing socialist? economies have undertaken an extensive transition process. In this paper the development, measured as GDP growth, is analyzed using variables for economic policy. The analysis is both theoretical, taking as starting point current positions in academia, and econometrical with the linear regression model. We show that while economic policy variables of inflation, economic freedom and institutional quality affect economic growth, the results are not only the ones predicted by the theory.

SAMMANFATTNINGSyfte: Syftet med föreliggande pilotstudie var att studera rutinerna för preoperativ Emlabehandling på barn. Pilotstudien inriktar sig specifikt på att undersöka om tiden mellan borttagande av EMLA-behandling och venpunktionen påverkar antalet försök som krävs för att etablera perifer venkateter på barn inför operation.Metod: Patienterna kvasirandomiserades till två grupper. Totalt 73 barn deltog i studien. Åtta barn exkluderades då de inte utsattes för några försök för att etablera perifer venkateter. Således inkluderades 65 barn i pilotstudien.

For hundreds of years the scientific journals has been the foremost tool for scholarly communication. Publishing of research results is very important for scientists. Often the research is bound to the university and the research libraries supplies the scientist with all journals needed. The last decades the libraries have seen the costs for subscriptions to journals explode. Commercial publishers often lie behind the mostly unmotivated escalation in price.

This essay is a qualitative study on quasimarkets in the field of home-help service. The main purpose of the study was to describe and analyze the function of costumers choice from elderly persons point of view. The quasimarket in home-help service of Solna stad has served as an example. The questions raised in the study concerned the elderly costumers opinion of the information about the different producers, what had influence on their choice, their attitude towards the freedom of choice, and their ability to act as consumers on a quasimarket.The method used was qualitative semi structured interviews. A majority of the elderly consumers appreciated the possibility to choose producer of home-help service.

According to the theory of elitist democracy civic political participation should be reduced to participation in the democratic elections. This essay examines whether a high rate of institutionalized political participation beyond the elections leads to: (a) that those who are included gets a more favourable treatment at the expense of the common interest, in other words that their self interest threatens the political equality, (b) reduced freedom of action for the politicians and the headmasters, (c) the emergence of vague conditions of responsibility. These hypotheses are examined in an empirical study of user-boards at four schools on three locations in southern Sweden. In these user-boards the parents are in majority and have the right of decision, which has been delegated to them from the local government and the headmaster. The main conclusion is that, based on this empirical investigation, there is no support in any of the hypotheses.
