Skall television utvecklas, anpassas och förändras utifrån sin publik?


Watching television (TV) has been given a new meaning, you don?t have to book a specific time, a specific date if you don?t want to miss the program you were planning to see. In Sweden now days we can watch TV in lot of different ways, whenever we choose to do so. In this thesis I attempt to explain and document the process of shaping a tvformat, the development and adaptation to a time when the TV medium is in a change. Plus a look at how the television audiences relate to their use of it. Because of that more and more people are using other media than television to watch the content, but do the TV channels' content and offerings need to change, evolve and adapt to their audience? It requires an adjustment in style when a production is moved to the web from the scheduled television. Equation: the higher technical quality and more expensive production, is not equivalent to more viewers. Scheduled television reinforces the feeling and create a greater "right now" feeling and a more pronounced "I am part of something bigger" experience. The consumer learns that they don?t need to consider dates or time when using TV on the web. Thus the scheduled television losing the audiences that are accustomed to the freedom of choosing for themselves when they want to see something.
