The aim of this study was to investigate whether the Swedish Institute of public health care uses paternalistic information in their alcohol publications. My intention has also been to examine to what extent the paternalistic information is being used. This is determined simply by how frequently paternalistic information is found in the publications. I chose to analyse five publications that contain alcohol related information and had a clear motive. My results show that all five publications use paternalistic methods with the intention to change readers, or people in their surroundings, alcoholic behaviour. Though this is quite a small essay, I have suggested extended research of the subject ? preferably of all 176 alcoholic publications presented by the Institute of public health care..

The purpose of this thesis is to examine Skogsstyrelsens event Skogens Dag as an information channel by looking at information use and information behaviour during the communication process of the event. This is done by examining the aims of Skogsstyrelsens information distribution during the event in relation to its outcomes. The evaluation is focused on long term effects on the target group and it is restricted to Skogens Dag in Borås 2005. The question this thesis intends to answer is: How does the event Skogens Dag function as a tool for information distribution? The theoretical background gives an account of the communication process as well as the relevant aspects of marketing, social marketing, campaigns and public relations, as these are communication attempts that can use an event as a medium.

The management of assets in organisations today can be a challenging task and optimising their usage is critical to ensure maximum profit. For rental businesses offering tangible products efficient management of movable assets are an essential part of the business strategy. The main purpose of this study is to investigate how asset management and asset information management can be carried out in rental businesses and in what ways information technology can support it. By doing a literature review combined with a case study where three rental businesses and their use of information technology were examined we could identify several important aspects regarding asset information management. The results we have found is that rental businesses with a high degree of digitization in existing asset information management systems are able to rationalize existing work processes, which in some ways changes the roles of employees.

ADHD has for a long time been perceived as something that affects children and grows away with time. American psychiatric association state that ADHD may appear differently with adolescences and adults than with children. That could lead to misunderstandings and exclusion by adults and adolescences with ADHD at work life amongst other situations. This report investigates that exclusion and tries to find what information that needs to reach certain target groups to prevent it from happen.The works focus is text design, a part of information design, and looks firstly at the factors that make good information material. Then I investigate if there is a need for more information about ADHD within working life and if so what it would contain.

Syftet med denna B-uppsats i informatik är att få en bild av samt få bättre förståelse för vilka faktorer det är som kan påverka vilka kvinnor i åldern 18-25 som offentliggör privat information på sociala medier.  Dock har inte djupintervjuer tillämpats utan enkäter, vilket annars är normalt för ett kvantitativt tillvägagångssätt. Enkäter valdes för att respondenterna skulle kunna svara anonymt eftersom syftet är att undersöka samt analysera vilka kvinnor i ålder 18-25 offentliggör privat information på sociala medier.   Utifrån en enkätundersökning som skickades ut elektroniskt till 25 kvinnor i åldern 18-25 har jag kunnat identifiera olika faktorer som bidrar till varför vissa kvinnor delar med sig av mer privat information på sociala medier. Några av de slutsatser som dragits utifrån denna studie är att kvinnor som befinner sig i ett offentligt förhållande oftare delar med sig av information på sociala medier samt att de som studerar är mer aktiva på sociala medier. .

The purpose of this thesis, was to study decision processes and the importance of information management in the processes within an academic organisation, which led to the work with adaptions according to the law of Equal Treatment of Students in Higher Education, (SFS 2001:1286). A general question was formulated concerning how different information- and knowledge flows interact within an academic organisation and its library during the decision processes. The questions at issue we have tried to examine, concern the factors that have influenced the participants´ choice of information during the decision processes, in their work of adapting the law of equal treatment, and how these choices have influenced the priorities that were made. The theoretical starting point was basically Cohen, March and Olsens Garbage Can Model. We also found the author Chun Wei Choo´s descriptions of organisations, as systems of information processing, useful for parts of our thesis, especially the parts that deals with the role of information management within the decision processes.

Denna studie visar hur kärlekspar skiljer sig i interaktion och presentation av relationen/partnern på socialamedier. Skillnaderna tycks bero på att männen och kvinnorna interagerar utifrån föreställningar om maskulinitet och femininitet. Studien visar att kvinnorna är mer aktiva än männen på sociala medier, samt att de uttrycker ett större behov av att presentera relationen online. De tolkas därför i enlighet med den rådande genusordningen som relations-orienterade i sin interaktion. Männen framstår som oberoende och autonoma i deras användande av sociala medier och tycks inte visa något intresse för att presentera relationen.

Denna studie undersöker hur människor engagerar sig med och på elektroniska sociala nätverk (OSN). Syftet var att undersöka på vilket sätt som personligheten påverkar hur vi använder OSN. Data från sextio deltagare insamlades genom ett webb-baserat formulär baserat på femfaktormodellen (?Big Five?) och instrumentet Big Five Inventory. Deltagarnas aktivitet på Facebook uppskattades genom frågor utformade för denna studie.

Det finns ett stort behov av att skydda information från obehöriga eftersom inte all information är offentlig. För institutionen för datavetenskap på högskolan i Skövde gäller det att skydda information som tentor, inlämningsuppgifter och lösningsförslag med mera. Detta är information som gör datorsystemet attraktivt för inkräktare. För att höja säkerheten till en nivå som gör det svårare för inkräktare att läsa informationen bör denna krypteras. Olika krypteringsalgoritmer från de symmetriska och asymmetriska systemen beskrivs, studeras och exemplifieras i rapporten.Resultatet av rapporten ger en rekommendation till vilka algoritmer som kan vara lämpliga att införa som krypteringsalgoritmer hos institutionen för datavetenskap på högskolan i Skövde..

Denna rapport behandlar push-teknik, en teknik för att skicka data i realtid inom webbapplikationer.Många gånger i dagens mer interaktiva webb kan ett behov finnas av att behandla data på ett alternativt sätt. På grund av detta kändes det valda ämnet relevant inom ramen för webbutveckling.Syftet är att undersöka hur vida denna teknik skiljer sig mot andra tekniker för att transportera data. För att kunna undersöka push-tekniken har en applikation skapats med hjälp av ett ramverk för detta ändamål. Som ramverk för arbetet valdes APE som innehåller en komplett lösning för push-teknik på webben.Som underlag för rapporten utvecklades en spelapplikation samt en utvärdering av ramverket APE och ett antal prestandatester gjordes..

Patienter upplever ofta att den information de får är felaktig. Felaktig på så sätt att det är för lite, för mycket, ingen alls, given vid fel tidpunkt, för komplicerad och given på ett fackspråk med många krångliga ord som patienten inte förstår. Syftet med den här litteraturstudien var att belysa vilket informationsbehov patienter med cancer kan ha. Studien baserades på 20 vetenskapliga artiklar och resultatet visar att de flesta patienter med cancer vill ha all tillgänglig information om såväl diagnos som behandling och även veta vilka valmöjligheter som finns. Det finns dock vissa som endast vill ha begränsad information varför det är viktigt att utvärdera varje patients informationsbehov.

The information flow of today is endless and the advances in information technology astounding. In today's information society it is of utmost importance not only to be able to find the right information but also to evaluate the information. The expression ?information literacy? is not a new one but it has never been as pertinent and essential as today. Information literacy is however not something which is easily and swiftly achieved.Swedish youth education is based on problem based learning in which the students are expected to research for material, evaluate their finds and use their skills to produce a good written or oral presentation.

The capacity to extract information from vehicles has the potential to be very beneficial. The aim with this master?s thesis is to examine the information practices and information literacies among social workers in the field of the social services and in the work with child welfare investigations. This is in this study related to their ambition to fulfill the requirements of an evidence-based practice. On a theoretical level, the study is based on three theories grounded in the idea of situated learning and of human activities based in a social context. These are the sociocultural theory, the theory of communities of practices and the theory of information practices.

Why is the e-revolution of the Swedish film distribution lingering? In attempting to answer that question, this qualitative study depicts the distribution market of Swedish film and its actors. Thirteen interviews with representatives of the industry have been conducted in search of an understanding of the current situation. Two important conclusions are made. One is that the strong interdependency between the actors of film distribution is inhibiting the acting space of those who seek change.
