Immersion is a construct that measures how deeply engrossed a user is with any mediated situation. In the field of game design, immersion is a significant aspect of what makes a game enticing, and as such it is of pivotal importance to create and maintain it to keep the player's mind off the real world while inside the confines of a game framework. According to the GameFlow theory, it is one of seven key tenets of evaluating and implementing a successful game design. Yet, certain multiplayer online games are designed in a fashion that in some cases seem to break immersion, where the player is frequently put out of action, sometimes for minutes on end. In this study, using online questionnaires, we discover that players, despite claims otherwise, seem to be in several ways affected negatively by this breaking of immersion.

Denna fallstudie tar upp enskilda kvinnors upplevelser i samband med mediala diskurser och identitet utifrån deras position som tidigare utsatta för direkt patriarkalt våld. Vissa diskursiva begrepp diskuteras, exempelvis ?Offer?. Centralt för respondenterna är att inte identifiera sig med dessa termer. Våldserfarenheterna har påverkat samtliga respondenter och det präglar hur de förhåller sig till diskursiva termer.

This thesis is an attempt to study computer games and playful computer programs for childrenand youth at Swedish public libraries. In this report hardware based alternatives to password authentication in a Windows domain are evaluated for the needs of a certain company. In order to investigate the demands on such alternatives interviews with people concerned have been carried out. The demands which resulted from the interviews have been used to select types of hardware tokens for evaluation. Two products which Offer authentication with smart cards and USB tokens have been selected and closer evaluated. These are RSA Passage which Offers both hardware options and Rainbow iKey which uses USB tokens.

The purpose of this thesis is to gain a better understanding of how elderly people seek and use information in everyday situations. We conducted qualitative interviews with four elderly people concerning their information needs in everyday life, and discovered that they rarely use the library, preferring instead to get their information from various internet sites and their pensioners? organisation.

The freshwater pearl mussel (Margaritifera margaritifera) is threatened throughout its range. There has been a substantial decline of the species and one major reason is habitat degradation. We investigated how the substrate composition of the bottom floor affects the regeneration of the mussel by analyzing data from the Västerbotten County Board?s inventory of the freshwater pearl mussel. The results implied that fine material such as fine sediment and sand might be detrimental to regeneration whereas gravel and boulders and in particular stone seem to be beneficial.

The aim of this study is to examine which support the communities in Kalmar have to Offer children who have witnessed domestic violence. It also reveals that those children often have a lower priority when weighed against children who has been abused..

This work of investigation was to report how four study counsellors see upon the facts regarding the amount of admission, the students social surroundings and local designs for the Individual program (IV) at upper secondary school. Through interviews with four professionals set to guide the students at four different schools in the rural districts of Boden, Luleå, Piteå and Skellefteå, this has become a paper that describes how they see these young adults today. Different handicaps and diagnosis, troubles at home, pregnancy and even drug abuse tend to make you wonder how they possibly can get through school at all. Studien bygger på en analys av svenska tidningars skrivelser kring verksamheten Sharaf Hjältar, en verksamhet tillsatt av den feministiska organisationen Elektra. I denna studie visar jag på hur bland annat invandrare, kultur samt kvinnoförtryck som sker bland svenska invandrare gestaltas i svensk media. Fokus har legat på att visa hur media, genom att stereotypifiera och stigmatisera kulturer, beteenden och identiteter skapar en bild av invandrare i det svenska samhället. Studien visar hur invandrare framställs som bland annat en homogen grupp som fungerar i kollektiva former samt hur invandrare sätts i en stark motsatsbild till ?svenskar? och ?svenskhet?.

Unga sexualförövare är ett växande samhällsproblem, enligt ett flertal källor saknas kunskap om adekvata behandlingsmetoder för denna förövargrupp. Något som är nödvändigt både för att minimera antalet Offer och återfall.
