The empirical data used for this master thesis, consists of eight manuals with the main purpose to help students evaluate information resources found on the web or Internet. The purpose is to elucidate the discourses and investigate those textual characteristics, which figure in the investigated manuals. The method used is a discursive and linguistic approach, with a power/knowledge discussion applied to the results. The analysis identifies, among other things, the production and consumption of the investigated texts, and that the manuals function as a reflection of the relationship between the participants in the situation, the sociocultural practice of the institution and its identity..

Our bachelor thesis is a visualisation made in 3D-graphics of how the horserace track in Tingsryd perhaps will look like in the future, complete with a miletrack, steeplechase, and other horserace courses. Today, the race track is only in it?s building phase. The goal of this thesis is to investigate the W3C Geolocation API from a developer?s perspective, focused on whether it makes development of location-based applications more accessible to developers. This has been investigated by looking at available ways to locate, possible uses, the functionality offered, the necessary level of prior knowledge needed for a developer and requirements on developer tools. This has been achieved through studies in relevant areas, a thorough introduction to W3C Geolocation API functionality, and by using the API to develop two different location-based applications as a demonstration. Testing of applications, on different platforms and in different environments, in conjunction with investigation of the rest of the material has shown that W3C Geolocation API in many ways actually makes development of location-based applications more accessible for developers. The API also provides fully adequate functionality and quality to meet the requirements for development of both simple and very advanced location-based applications. Målet med denna uppsats är att undersöka W3C Geolocation API ur ett utvecklarperspektiv, fokuserat på om den gör utveckling av positionsbaserade applikationer mer tillgänglig för utvecklare.

The aim of this study is to elucidate the process in which psychology was separated from philosophy and established itself as a distinct academic discipline in Sweden. I argue that the concept of will, as well as the concepts of thinking and emotion, have a lot to tell us about the rise of academic psychology in Sweden. This is done through an analysis of psychology textbooks, encyclopaedia-articles and academic texts on the themes will and psychology, from around 1800 till 1950.Prior to the establishment of the first chair of psychology in Uppsala 1948, the discipline was above all a part of the philosophical discipline. For psychology to become a science of its own, it was crucial to obtain a position among the empirical sciences. It thus had to distance itself from philosophy, and in particular from metaphysics.

Detta är en studie som undersöker lärares inställningar kring området joniserande strålning samt hur de upplever arbetsförutsättningarna inom detta område. Studien tar även upp skillnader mellan nya och gamla kursplaner (Lpf94 och Gy11) och läromedel i fysik och biologi analyseras.     I studien intervjuades sju gymnasielärare och sex läroböcker analyserades. Som teori har Post normal science (PNS) använts, vilket är en vetenskapsteori som förespråkar att man erkänner och tillåter utomstående aktörer och andra discipliner än sin egna komma in i diskussionen. PNS kräver att man ser på saker från flera olika synvinklar och ämnesområden för att få en helhet. PNS brukar tillämpas när fakta är osäkra, värdena omtvistade och insatserna höga samt när problemet innehåller lika mycket politik och värdering som vetenskap.     Resultatet av studien visade att lärarna hade en ganska avspänd inställning till joniserande strålning, ofta med en vetenskaplig grund för sina argument och åsikter.

In the school subject of the natural sciences it is imperative that the students are given opportunities to ?talk science?, since the dialogues that occur in the classroom have a significant importance for the students? abilities to engage in meaning-making in their learning process. Hence, the student and teacher interaction in the classroom and the feedback given there play a significant role in the students? learning process. The aim of this study is to contribute to the development of formative assessment tools that can mediate the students? meaning-making in natural sciences subjects in upper-secondary school.

Den tilltagande globaliseringen ställer nya krav på juridiken och nationella beteenden ersätts av gemensamma tillvägagångssätt. Internationella regelverk i form av UniP och PECL aktualiserar frågan om vilken betydelse dylika regelverk har för svensk nationell rätt. Den situation som behandlas i uppsatsen är den då två parter har ingått förhandlingar men avtal av olika anledningar inte slutits. Syftet med uppsatsen är att redogöra för det prekontraktuella ansvaret inom svensk rätt samt enligt bestämmelserna i de internationella regelverken UniP och PECL. Detta i avsikt att med utgångspunkt i tre rättsfall, göra en jämförande analys och söka utröna likheter och skillnader avseende ansvaret i situationer då parter förhandlat men avtal inte kommit till stånd.

Vår kandidatuppsats handlar om användning och utveckling av Kustpilens biljettautomat. Vi har, genom etnografiska metoder, studerat hur människor använder sig av biljettautomaten vid köp av en tågbiljett. För att generera designidéer och utveckla vårt designförslag har vi utgått från dessa studier. Vi har sett hur viktigt det är för användarna att få feedback på utförda handlingar. Biljettautomatens design är viktig för att uppmana kunderna till rätt användning.

This study includes several purposes which are to describe the concept of working environment, explain who is responsible for its functioning and how the working environment should look like. Other purposes the study have is to investigate how the working environment is in both Swedish and the two investigated companies construction sites and to share some operators proposing measures for the shortcomings and problems that exist in the construction sector working environment. To achieve these purposes was a qualitative study made with unstructured observations, interviews and survey where three construction sites were observed. The result shows that the concept of the working environment cover many aspects and is essentially about the environment we live in and experience in our work and this environment can be both an indoor as an outdoor environment. In this work, the concept is divided into four areas; it is the physical, the ergonomic, the psychosocial and the chemical.

This study is a comparative study of the occurrence and function of information literacy in the curricula of the Swedish and Bavarian Gymnasium and investigates the occurrence of the term ?information literacy? and shows through what other linguistic means the notion of information literacy is expressed in the curricula. The study also wishes to analyze how the notion of information literacy manifests itself in the different school systems. Relevant textual passages of both curricula are compared to each other through the theoretic lens of Bruce?s phenomenographic model of information literacy.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the connection between store layout and how it affects us as shoppers. We formed our research questions based on literature. The study was based on observations of shoppers without their knowing they were observed. We didn?t tell shoppers since the science of shopping says that shoppers pattern of movement is something that?s subconscious and if the shoppers had known it would have affected the result of the study.

The purpose of this essay is to investigate how employers? rights to give employees notice because of illness are regulated in Swedish working life. This essay consists of two parts. The first part is jurisprudential and based on traditional juristic method. The second part entails the discipline Sociology of Law and is based on a qualitative survey consisting of two interviews.

Skadeplatsarbete är en arbetsform med en speciell karaktär. Det som formar denna karaktär är dess uppkomst genom inträffandet av en olycka av något slag. Detta medför att olika aktörer och aktörsgrupper temporärt stålar samman och genomför ett samarbete med utgångspunkt från platsen för det inträffade. Ambulans, brandkår, polis och SOS Alarm AB är de vanligaste aktörsgrupperna på en skadeplats. Att rädda liv är ett samarbete mellan olika aktörsgruppers på en skadeplats. För att detta skall möjliggöras ställs det höga krav på både deltagande aktörer och de kommunikationsartefakter som används.

Fler personer överlever idag en svår hjärnskada, vilket har medfört att rehabiliteringen har ställts inför en utmaning avseende dessa personer. Då det gäller arbetsterapeutens behandlingsmetoder finns det liten vetenskapligt dokumenterad kunskap och ett behov av fortsatt forskning inom området. Studiens syfte var att undersöka vilka behandlingsmetoder, sett ur ett arbetsterapeutiskt perspektiv, som beskrivs i vetenskaplig litteratur samt dess effekter för vuxna personer med en traumatisk hjärnskada i ett vegetativt eller minimalt responsivt tillstånd. En systematisk litteraturstudie genomfördes. Artikelsökning utfördes i databaserna Medline, AMED, Cinahl och PsycInfo och resulterade i 10 inkluderade artiklar.
