H. K. H. Tepåse och andra souvenirer : Dokumentation av en samling minnesföremål från kronprinsessparets bröllop år 2010
This thesis is a report of the practical aspects and the problems of classification and documentation of a collection of memorabilias from the Crown Princess Couple's Wedding in Stockholm 2010. The collection contains 38 Objects collected by Nordiska museet [The Nordic Museum], Sweden's largest museum of cultural history. Nordiska museet has a total collection of over 1,5 million items collected since 1873. My ambition in this thesis has been to describe my work with the classification and documentation of these new Objects and their context. One of the main problems was how to combine the modern Objects with the old existing collection within the two classification systems used at the museum.
Gjutfel och dålig ornamentik - Om bronsgjutares hantverksskicklighet under skandinavisk bronsålder.
The purpose of this essay is to investigate whether bronze workers during the Bronze Age were exclusively specialized, or there actually existed amateur craftsmen. Through archaeological experiments and artefact studies I intend to investigate if it has been at all possible for a less experienced bronze caster to produce usable Objects. The purpose is also to investigate and put to the test the casting methods used during the Bronze Age in an attempt to find out which steps of the craft are the difficult and crucial ones, and try to determine if it has been possible to manufacture bronze Objects on an industrial level..
Studie av en medeltida husgrund : en analys av bronsfynd från husgrund 6, Västergarn, Gotland
This essay is an analysis of the Objects made of bronze found in an excavation Västergarn parish, Gotland, in 2010, conducted by the University of Gotland. The studied material presented in this essay comes from contexts inside, as well as nearby the foundation of a medieval building which purpose is still not certain. The first purpose of this study is to present the bronze-Objects found inside and nearby the foundation of house 6, and to see if there are any datable Objects. There is also a discussion whether there has been any bronze-crafting in the area. The second purpose is to make a contextual analysis to see if there are any differences between the material found outside and inside of the building, and what conclusions can be made regarding the function and use of the building.
Att arbeta laborativt : Ett arbete om laborativt material riktat till addition
Abstract The purpose of this degree project is to examine what impact working with physical Objects has on children?s learning process concerning addition. We want to explore what addition strategies can be exercised using the game ?Twice as much?. We have observed children in school year 1.
Omkonservering av Vattendr?nkt L?der Analys och Metodutveckling f?r Vasaskeppets L?derartefakter
In the collections of the Vasa Museum, 100 leather Objects have exhibited salt precipitations. The Objects,
that have previously been impregnated with PEG, have become deteriorated and fragmented due to the
precipitations. During a previously conducted study it was established that the precipitations consisted of
iron and sulphur. However, it was not established whether they occurred in the leather?s inner structure
and no treatment plan was developed.
Det Blomqvistska släktarkivet
For my advanced degree in archival science, I have organized and catalogued the Blomqvist family archive. The Blomqvist family archive consists of records from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 21th century. The records in the archive depict and describe different aspect of the Blomqvist familys life and work. Specific problems and theoretical questions that appeared during the cataloguing of the Blomqvist archive were related to the great presence of Objects and photographs in the archive. A discussion concerning the role of Objects in archives and within archive institution took place. The problem with cataloguing photographs as well as the problem of searching for photographs in archives, were also discussed. .
Hyggesbränning på Orsa besparingsskog - en studie på tillväxt och föryngring,15år efter etablering
The main purpose with this study was to investigate whether the tree growth differs or not in prescribed burnt areas compared to mechanically scarified. Together with the result from the main purpose, answers of whether it's possible or not to combine nature conservation with tree production in prescribed burnt areas was presented. In these areas the regeneration were analyzed to see if there was enough tree plants to comply with the Swedish Forestry Act regulations terms for approved regeneration. A field survey was conducted at 6 Objects, three Objects for prescribed burning and three for mechanically scarification. All Objects were planted within the same year.
Föryngringsresultat och beräknad virkesproduktion i naturligt föryngrade tallbestånd i Västerbotten under mitten av 1990-talet :
According to the Board of Forestry, in Västerbotten, many natural regenerations of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) carried out on privately owned forest in the middle of 1990 in Västerbotten have rendered a bad regeneration outcome and will provide a low future forest production. The Board of Forestry believes that the negative result can be explained by the fact that the regeneration has been carried out in wrong locations and that scarification failed to work as planned. In order for an accepted rate of regeneration the guidelines of the Forrest Act require, not less than 10 years after final cutting at natural regeneration, that there should be at least 1300 (site indices 16 m) - 1700 (site indices 20 m) main crop stems per hectare. Main crop stems are defined as stems according to the place of growth and appropriate tree type, in addition with regard to quality, stage of development and damage risk have a prospect of succeeding. In addition main crop stems should be separated by surface so that the proportion sample plots with 3 meters radius, and lack main crop stems, are not more than 10 % of site indices 14 meters or higher.
Användning av satellitdata för lokalisering av skogsområden där lövröjning bedöms angelägen : en analys av användbarheten med fjärranalys som hjälpmedel till röjningsrådgivning
This master thesis project is a part of a project called ?Järboprojektet? at the regional board of forestry, the district of Gästrikland. The project will give answers to questions regarding if an analysis of satellite images can be used to contact and inform landowners of the located areas where precommercial thinning is useful. The whole project is a part of the National Board of Forestrys IT-stake where the analysis of satellite images will, at the latitudes possible, be adapted to each district in purpose to identify these areas in need of precommercial thinning. This master thesis project is based on a field inventory of identified Objects where precommercial thinning is useful.
Shape from Silhouette Scanner
The availability of digital models of real 3D Objects is becoming more and more important in many different applications (e-commerce, virtual visits etc). Very often the Objects to be represented cannot be modeled by means of the classical 3D modeling tools because of the geometrical complexity or color texture. In these cases, devices for the automatic acquisition of the shape and the color of the Objects (3D scanners or range scanners) have to be used. The scanner presented in this work, a Shape from silhouette scanner, is very cheap (it is based on the use of a simple digital camera and a turntable) and easy to use. While maintaining the camera on a tripod and the object on the turntable, the user acquires images with different rotation angles of the table.
Studium av stomsystem och övrigt klimatskal m.a.p. produktion och långsiktig förvaltning av passivhus
The passive house concept has been known for many years, but it is not yet verywell known in Sweden. The increased energy requirements places greaterdemands on our buildings and to meet these requirements, passive houses is agood option.Svenska Bostäder have built passive houses with good results and intend tocontinue design some of their new buildings as passive houses. This study ismeant to support Svenska Bostäder in their planning of new buildings byanalyze and compare the different frameworks and building shells of passivehouses. In the first chapters (1,2 and 3) we presents the conditions for passive housesand the differing Objects we have examined more generally for the reader tobecome familiar with the concept and the Objects. The subsequent chapter presents an analysis of each object partial based on thespecifications from FEBY and finally, in Chapter 5, you will find a table ofvalues where the Objects are put into relation to each other and valued there by,together with a brief explanation for the table. This chapter also contains texts on the environment, design and futuredevelopment which all includes our own thoughts and reflections. Finally, the gist of the whole work and our conclusion is presented anddiscussed. On the whole, the work has been very enlightening for us and we hope that theconcept of passive houses have a wider impact in the future..
Från grej till kvadrat : Om begreppsförståelse inom geometri utifrån läromedel
One of the purposes of this work was to find out what it means to have a conceptual understanding of geometry. It describes how the geometry evolved from history and the geometry that is taught in grade one to nine and collage. The area examined was based on fundamental geometric Objects for example two- and three- dimensional Objects and its characteristics and especially focusing on the areas of perimeter, area and volume. The literature- review showed that the conceptual understanding was primary to developing a good knowledge of geometry. The second purpose of his study examined whether pupils achieved the goals in geometry by working with a Mathematics Book.
Lek kring stol
The aim of this project was to develop a product which gives one or more Objects of daily use an additional function. Thru the creativity of children the object shall transform into a new source for play for pre-school children. The purpose of this work was to research how fantasy and free play of children could be enhanced. I wanted to know how I can motivate children to use their fantasy transforming Objects into new sources for play. This was achieved by means of developing a number of different prototypes which I tested in Kindergarden. My observations lead to the development of a cloth-wrap for the chair which provides the required source for ongoing role-play. The chair suddenly transforms into a new landscape and multi-purpose object where children?s fantasy is stimulated and creative play is supported..
Kritik som transformation : ett utvecklande av Walter Benjamins konception av kritik i relation till språk, verk och historia
The present essay concerns Walter Benjamin´s engagement with the concept of critique in four of his early writings from 1916-1928. It revolves around three main themes, or Objects of interest: the critique of language [Sprache], the critique of the work [das Werk] and the critique of history [Geschichte]. The main objective of this study is to show how we can understand Benjamin?s conception of critique and how he develops it in regard to language, the work and history. The essay argues that this is a vital part to understand his philosophy in general as well as his later philosophy of history in particular.
FAKTORER BAKOM M?GELTILLV?XT P? N??S SLOTT
With climate change, the temperature and relative humidity in Sweden are increasing. The majority of historical environments lack protection against this increase, which also increases the risk of mold infestation in these environments. One of these environments is N??s Slott, in which several rooms have recurring mold growth on Objects and furniture. By examining one of the rooms in the castle that is in the risk zone or has mold growth, factors behind the mold growth can be investigated in order to create a basis for future actions against mold.
