A constantly increasing number of magazines are using the Internet as a business channel. One of these is Allt om Mat (All about Food). Together with expressen.se, Allt om Mat developed a food website, alltommat.se, which was introduced at the beginning of 2008. In this essay we investigate how alltommat.se developed its service concept. Further, we look at how this development has influenced and been influenced by relations among the three actors and the users.

Genom en kvalitativ innehållsanalys närstuderas artiklar i de rikstäckande tidningarna Aftonbladet, Dagens Nyheter, Expressen och Svenska Dagbladet. Syftet med undersökningen är att ta reda på om rapporteringen kring den chilenska gruvolyckan är ett fall av trivialiserad journalistik - där ekonomisk vinst går före journalistisk kvalitet. De frågeställningar som ligger till grund för analysen är: Hur ser medierapporteringen ut om gruvolyckan i de utvalda tidningarna under den angivna perioden? Hur dramatiseras händelseförloppet under den angivna perioden i de utvalda tidningarna? Vad kännetecknar berättelsen om den chilenska gruvolyckan under den angivna perioden i de utvalda tidningarna? Utgångspunkten är redaktionellt nyhetsmaterial under den 10 till den 17 oktober 2010 som handlar om de 33 männens sista tid i gruvan. Resultaten visar att med hjälp av en överdriven otrohetsaffär, konflikter, lyckliga återföreningar och spektakulära erbjudanden skapades och dramatiserades berättelsen om gruvolyckan. .

Real options analysis is a method for assigning value to flexibility in decisions, coming from uncertainty in future outcomes. This thesis ascertains to what degree this method is superior to traditional net present value analysis, with regards to ease of implementation in relation to the benefits from being able to measure the total value. Real options analysis is evaluated with a case study of the Swedish online gambling market, and conducted with the binomial framework of Copeland and Antikarov (2003). The authors find the sensible use of real options dependant on the specific situation to which it is applied, i.e. a certain degree of future uncertainty and managerial flexibility is necessary for justification of the increased workload.

The main purpose of this thesis is to examine what problems may arise when converting class symbols from one classification scheme to another. In order to fulfill this purpose, a conversion table between parts of the Swedish online-version of the UDC and the Swedish classification system SAB was constructed. For main classes 0 and 3 every class number from this abridged version of the UDC was converted, whereas for the rest of the main classes only class numbers with fewer than four figures were converted. The conversion table was constructed using the alphabetical index of SAB and different UDC-indexed library catalogues. Various aspects of the conversion table were then analysed using methods mainly devised by the authors themselves, but inspired by lexicography and multilingual thesaurus construction.

I dagens samhälle är det ofta viktigt att kunna använda datorer och internet för att göra olika vardagssysslor såsom hålla kontakten med släkt och vänner, kontakta myndigheter, utföra bankärenden och boka resor. Fortfarande finns det dock många som saknar kunskaperna att använda en dator, en grupp som är överrepresenterade bland dessa är pensionärerna.Det finns många olika operativsystem och vissa lämpar sig antagligen bättre än andra om man är över 65 år och saknar tidigare datorkunskaper. I denna rapport undersöks huruvida det klassiska skrivbordsgränssnittet i Windows är bättre eller sämre än det nya gränssnittet Modern UI som återfinns i Windows 8 och Windows RT. I studien ingick fem par pensionärer i åldrarna 71-87 som utvärderades med hjälp av samupptäckarmetoden.Resultatet av studien visar att inget av de två undersökta systemen är optimalt för denna kategori av användare men att många av de nyheter som introducerades i Modern UI såsom levande paneler underlättade testpersonernas interaktion med datorn..

Denna uppsats behandlar frågan om hur de fyra stora stockholmstidningarna Dagens Nyheter, Svenska Dagbladet, Expressen och Aftonbladet beskrev gärningsmannen som den elfte december 2010 utförde ett terrordåd i Stockholm. För att få en så tydlig beskrivning av gärningsmannen som möjligt behandlas även frågan om hur attacken beskrevs. Uppsatsen behandlar också skillnaderna mellan hur morgontidningarna samt kvällstidningarna beskriver händelsen.Utifrån artiklar, tagna från en sjudagarsperiod från varje tidning och med hjälp av en kvantitativ innehållsanalys visar studien på att de fyra olika tidningarna framställt gärningsmannen både som en god och ond människa. Detta genom en stor mängd olika både negativa och positiva personbeskrivningar. Händelsen beskrivs med ett femtiotal olika definitioner.

Studien syftar till att belysa synen på arbetslöshet som samhällsproblem, genom att studera begreppet ?arbetslinjen?. Studien har tre fokuspunkter: synen på den arbetslöse, värdet av arbete respektive hur staten kan motverka arbetslöshet. Studien utgår ifrån en massmedial arena under valrörelsen år 2006 och med ett empiriskt material hämtat från Dagens Nyheter och Svenska Dagbladet. Studien tar sin grund i ett socialkonstruktionistiskt synsätt och använder sig av metoden kritisk diskursanalys.I studien framkommer två bilder av synen på arbetslöshet; antingen är det individens skyldighet att vara anställningsbar eller statens plikt att skapa en arbetsmarkand som anpassas till individen.Studien avslutas med en diskussion kring relationen mellan staten och dess medborgare utifrån synen på arbetsmoral samt hur statens åtgärder för att bekämpa arbetslöshet blir legitima. .

In Sweden today almost all people are connected to a bank in some way. It can range from loans, savings, shares, etc. They have a current account where salaries, student aid etc. is paid. Due to the large selection of banks, it has become more important for banks to be competitive in their services to their customers so they don?t change bank.

The purpose of this study is to examine if digital public libraries are serendipitous environments. Serendipity in this instance is defined as finding something unexpected and valuable, while searching for something else.A survey was conducted at two Swedish digital public libraries, where the patrons were asked to fill in a questionnaire online. The questions were based on the work on serendipitous digital environments by Lori McCay-Peet, as well as considerations of human factors that could possibly influence serendipity.The result indicate that a majority of patrons experience serendipity at the digital library, although it?s still more common to do so at the physical library or on other web sites. The result also confirms the importance of taking human factors into account when studying serendipity.

There are several possibilities for those with an eating disorder, who wishes to get treatment and recover to get help and support. But for those who are not ready to recover, there are not any help to receive. Pro-ana is a youth culture where individuals who want to achieve the anorectic ideal help and support each other. The purpose of this study was to describe and analyse the content and the need for the Pro-ana community on Internet, among young people with eating disorders. More specifically the aim was to find out how young Swedish people uses the Pro-ana communities on Internet.

This essay studies the concept of "livspusslet", a term in swedish that directly translates as "the jigsaw puzzle of life". In recent public debate it has been used to articulate issues concerning the combination of family life and a professional career. The empirical material consists of newspaper articles from nationwide daily newspapers Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet between 2009 and 2011. The concept of "livspusslet" relates to the debate about family values, gender equality and the public view on the issue of combining family life with a career. The widespread use of the concept indicates that the social practices surrounding the debate over family policy is shifting.

Bröstcancer är ett av de största hälsoproblemen för kvinnor i Sverige. Syftet med studien var att belysa patienters uppfattning av vårdpersonalens bemötande i samband med vård av patienter med bröstcancer. Studien baseras på en litteraturstudie och utgår från en kvalitativ analys. Författarna använde sig av omvårdnadsteoretiken Joyse Trabelbee som belyser en mellanmänsklig relation mellan patient och sjuksköterska. I resultatet framkom de sex kategorier: respekt, ignorerande känslor, information, tidsbrist, kontinuitet och väntetid.

Deliberative democracy theory holds that democracy is about active partaking on formal and informal arenas in the public sphere where fairly equal citizens can obtain knowledge, discuss, evaluate and affect the political agenda before decisions are made.In line with the deliberative vision of online deliberation social media such as Facebook, Youtube, Twitter and Twingly offer such formal and informal arenas where people can obtain knowledge and interact with other people, and politicians.The Swedish EU-Presidency was the first EU-presidency to make use of social media and it was the first time the Swedish Government Offices used other social media than email and chat features.This thesis will examine the Swedish EU-Presidency?s ambitions of using social media as well as the actual use of social media on the Swedish EU-Presidency website in the light of deliberative democracy theory.The aim of this thesis is, through a case study, to analyze the Swedish EU-Presidency?s use of social media in the light of deliberative democracy theory..

The study´s purpose is to identify how their communication affects their brand. The study will be made trough the perspective image, the values and associations which the target audience have about the County Council. The study has two question formulations: Which parts in the County Council's communication affect their brand? How does the residents in Värmland's image about County Council's look like? The study is based in Balmers 6C's of Corporate Marketing. There´s also some organizational communication added  to the study.The two methods has been used in the study, qantitative survey's and qualitative interviews.

The purpose of this BA-thesis was to study how three daily Swedish newspapers use a specific type of exemplars, which are recognized by a number of attributes. A photograph of the person that is interviewed always illustrates this type of exemplars and at least two persons are asked the same question.    The three newspapers that have been compared in this study each represent one of the major types of Swedish newspapers: morning press, tabloids and local press. By using a quantitative content analysis, one month was examined in all three newspapers in the year of 1997 and 2007.  Two of the theories that have been central in the thesis are Colin Sparks model of tabloidization, which demonstrates the process of tabloidization and McQuail?s description of commercialization.
