Cross-suckling, i.e. when an offspring nurses a female other than their own mother, occurs in pig production systems where sows are group housed during lactation. As production systems where several sows and their litters are housed together during lactation are getting more common, the need of knowledge regarding cross-suckling increases. The overall aims with this thesis was to investigate how sow behaviour and productivity are associated with the occurrence of cross-suckling, and to investigate consistency in sow nursing behaviour related to cross-suckling. The study included information about the first 4 parities of 40 LxY sows kept in outdoor and indoor production environments. Sows were single housed the first 2 weeks after farrowing and group housed (4 or 5 sows per group) from 2 weeks after farrowing until weaning, 7 weeks after farrowing.

In the spring of 2009 Silva Sweden AB was contacted for a collaboration within the scope of a MasterThesis project. The company had discussed the possibility to develop a device that monitors usermovement during different types of exercise. The objective of this Master Thesis has therefore been todevelop and design a multi training device that records the user?s physical performance during severalactivities. Students at Jönköping School of Engineering were given an assignment from Jönköping municipality, to evaluate their decision support system, QlikView. The students have also developed proposals for improvement with focus on usability.The Jönköpings municipality has currently got 11000 employees and consists of nine different administrations. The target group for QlikView is approximately 600 first-line managers.The intention of QlikView is that the users can get an overall picture of their business by having all information in just one system.The purpose of the thesis is to obtain a picture of what the users think about the system today and present relevant suggestions for improvement, which the Jönköping municipality can use when the introduction of the new version of QlikView takes place. The research questions that the study aims to answer are:? Has QlikView got a user friendly interface?? How can the interface be improved to become more user friendly?Theories that this work is based on is Jacob Nielsens ten usability principles and Ben Schneidermans eight golden rules.

Trots internationella riktlinjer från Emergency Nursing Association som säger att närstående bör erbjudas möjlighet att närvara under hjärt- lungräddning så följs ej dessa generellt på sjukhusen. Syftet: Var att beskriva närståendes upplevelser att närvara under hjärt-lungräddning på sjukhus. Metod: En litteraturstudie har gjorts där 13 vetenskapliga artiklar har granskats. Resultat: Närstående ville ha en valmöjlighet om de skulle närvara eller ej.

Background: Female circumcision or female genital mutilation is a tradition that is carried out mainly in Africa. The intervention refers to that part of- or all of the girl?s external genital organs are removed. Aim: The study's purpose was to highlight the consequences of female circumcision in the encounter with western health care.Method: A systematic literature reviews was performed as a method. Twelve articles were selected for the study and these were sought in Chinal, PubMed and PsycINFO. Analysis and interpretation was done according to qualitative content analysis, inspired by Lundman and Granheim.

BAKGRUND: Demenssjukdom är vanligt förekommande hos äldre. Med ökat antal äldre i samhället kommer andelen demenssjuka personer också att öka. Det är vanligt med Beteendestörningar och Psykiska Symtom vid Demens (BPSD) och dessa kan påverka de demenssjukas livskvalitet negativt samt orsaka stort lidande. Omvårdnadsåtgärder för att minska förekomsten av BPSD beskrivs och kan sökas i aktuell omvårdnadsforskning. SYFTE: Studiens syfte var att, utifrån aktuell omvårdnadslitteratur, beskriva omvårdnadsåtgärder, vid BPSD, som distriktssköterskan kan använda i arbetet med demenssjuka personer på ordinärt eller särskilt boende.

This report explores how organizations act when they are choosing an Outsourcing supplier. The study was conducted through multiple interviews with managers of different organizations. The data from those interviews was then analyzed through the use of two theoretical models. Our findings indicate that most organizations share the same base factors (qualifiers) when selecting an Outsourcing supplier. What therefore become crucial are the key factors that the Organizations see as Order winning factors.

Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva vilka riskfaktorer som kunde leda till höftfraktur hos äldre samt att beskriva vilka preventiva åtgärder sjuksköterskan kunde använda i omvårdnaden för att förhindra höftfraktur. Resultatet baserades på 21 vetenskapliga artiklar skrivna på engelskt språk. Exklusionskriterie var artiklar baserade på individer yngre än 50 år. Artiklarna söktes via databaserna Elin och Blackwell Synergy och skulle vara publicerade från år 1996 till 2006. Även manuell sökning genomfördes utifrån artiklars referenser samt en tidskrift.

AbstractThe aim with the study was to describe and to compare nurse students' views about importantcaring behaviors in order to give good caring. An empirical comparative study wasimplemented on a college in the middle of Sweden. Nurse students in the beginning and at theend of their education sorted and prioritized 50 caring behaviors (CARE-Q). The result showedthat the students' description of important caring behaviors has many similarities. However, theresult also showed that there were significant differences between the student-groups where thestudents at the beginning of their education rated several caring behavior as significant moreimportant than the students in the end of their education.

This is a qualitative study that explores the involvement of the relatives in the special housing based on the perspective of fourteen interviewees working in elderly care, at special housing.The purpose of this study is to analyze the nursing staff's view of the involvement of the relatives and the presence of care provision at special housing. The study is to find out what can constitute support or obstacles to the relatives.Three questions have been presented as the structural basis upon which the objective finds its conclusion. These questions try to explore and identify the forms of support that can help relatives in their involvement in elderly care. There are opportunities and obstacles for the involvement of the relatives in the care of the elderly as well as expectations of nursing staff on the role of the relatives in the care of the elderly which the following study focuses on.The research reflected in this study involves the care staff and their experiences and views on the relatives who have their older live permanently in residential care.In conclusion, the study identifies similar reasoning among respondents regarding to key aspects of the relatives at the special housing. They emphasizes that relatives are needed there and they are important resource for both the residents and the staff.The results indicate that there may be both opportunities and obstacles for the involvement of the relatives.

Cost of construction waste amounts to 4-12 % of the total cost of the project. Moreover, cost of construction waste is 1-3 % of the production cost.
