Syftet med studien var att beskriva vad sjuksköterskor anser vara god omvårdnad av äldre patienter samt att beskriva vad som är viktigt i en god omvårdnad. I en empirisk kvalitativ studie av beskrivande karaktär intervjuades sju kvinnliga sjuksköterskor med mellan 2 och 39 års erfarenhet. Vid intervjuerna ställdes två öppna frågor och följdfrågor användes för att utveckla svaren. Intervjuerna spelades in på band och svaren analyserades genom att författaren skrev ner intervjuerna ordagrant för att sedan, genom bearbetning av textmaterialet, bilda subkategorier och kategorier. Resultatet redovisades med fem kategorier: grundläggande behov, informationssökning, rehabilitering, respekt och tid samt elva subkategorier.

Clinicians in veterinary practice have responsibilities for the development of global antibiotic resistance. In some cases, antibiotics are contraindicated or even useless in wound treatments and therefore other options are needed. Antiseptics may be another option but their use are controversial and may be questioned by owners. As professionals, it may be very difficult to be able to motivate this choice of treatment. The aim of this paper is to gain knowledge about four antiseptics; iodine, silver, polyhexamethylene biguanide (PHMB) and honey to make it easier for veterinary Nurses and other clinicians in veterinary practices to decide their potential use. The assessment will be made with consideration of the available evidence concerning the properties, usability and the animal?s experience. The results showed a lack of evidence in in-vivo studies in horses, particularly studies within the field of veterinary nursing.

Social support is an important part of handling the troubles of life. The purpose of this literature review is to investigate what forms the social support for adult women with breast cancer with the aim to be used in the nursing care. By system-atical reading of scientific articles nine qualitative articles were found which the result is based on. The theoretical framework was Antonovsky´s health focused theory with the central issue KASAM, the feeling of life connection. The study resulted in three themes emotional support, practical support and informational support, which describe the balanced content of social support.

Sjuksköterskans huvudsakliga uppgift är att förebygga smärta och att planera sitt arbete kring barnet så att de utsätts för minsta möjliga smärta. Faktorer som påverkar sjuksköterskan i detta är erfarenhet och personlighet.Syftet med studien var att beskriva hur sjuksköterskor bemöter och hanterar barn med smärta inom primärvård. Den metod som valts för denna studie är en kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Resultaten i studien grundar sig på tio intervjuundersökningar utförda på sjuksköterskor inom primärvård. Resultaten visade hur sjuksköterskan inom primärvård bemöter och hanterar barn med smärta.

Background;Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a lung disease characterized by airway obstruction. Common signs of COPD are the slow process and shortness of breath on exertion. The most important treatment is to quit smoking. Most Nurses, regardless of where they work, will meet these patients, often when the patients are having respiratory disorders. Aim;the aim of this study was to illuminate how patients with COPD describe the daily life based on how he/she experience and cope with the disease.

This essay aims to explore the possibilities for elderly in nursing homes in Örebro municipality toreceive other treatments besides medication in case of depression or anxiety. Issues associated withthe object in this paper and which are discussed are prevalence of drug usage, opportunities forelderlies to receive other treatments, prevalence of other treatments and the elderlies own power orinfluence over the choice of treatment. The survey has been conducted with questionnaires sent outby post to Nurses at every nursing home for elderly in Örebro municipality. The results showed thatdrugs are used extensively when treating depression or anxiety among the nursing home residents,and other treatments are never or only occasionally being discussed at more than half of the nursinghomes in this study. The results also show that reminiscence therapy and problem-solving therapyhas been used occasionally, while alternative therapies are used more frequently.

Den här studien handlar om arbetsmotivation på två äldreboenden i Gävleborgs län. Vi gjorde en jämförelse mellan ett privat äldreboende och ett kommunalt äldreboende för att undersöka hur arbetsmotivation diskuteras på enheterna. Syftet med studien var att se om det fanns skillnader mellan det privata och det kommunala boendet samt mellan chef och medarbetare i definitionen arbetsmotivation. För att få svar på våra frågor använde vi oss av en kvalitativ semistrukturerad intervjuform. Det vi i huvudsak kom fram till var att arbetskamraterna, de boende och att prestera bra var de mest framträdande faktorerna till arbetsmotivation.

Today, many veterinary hospitals offer rehabilitation as a service. We think that this is an interesting subject and therefore we want to find out what rehabilitation methods that are available in Sweden for dogs and horses. We want to give animal Nurses and other persons who have animals as an occupation an survey that shortly describes how the methods are performed, what physical effect they have in the body and to give examples in what conditions they are used. To find out what rehabilitation methods that are available we sent out two different questionnaires, one to hospitals/clinics for small animals and one to hospitals/clinics for horses and other companies that works with rehabilitation of horses. The information about the methods described in our project we have found in literature and on the Internet.

ABSTRACT (english)Introduction: The possibility to transplant an organ is an important part of the health care system, which demands great resources and a well functioning organization with a level of high competence. The work with organ donation is complex and brings forward a great amount of different emotions for the operation room nurse. Aim: The aim with the study is to illustrate the operating room Nurses experience when the organ donor is brain dead. Method: Data collection has been performed with semi-structured interviews, which have been interpreted by qualitative manifest analysis. The design of the study is pilot towards a study in full scale.

Att Sverige idag är ett mångkulturellt samhälle återspeglas i dagens sjukvård. Sjuksköterskor möter idag patienter med invandrarbakgrund och kan därmed uppleva svårigheter att förstå dessa patienters behov på grund av språkhinder och/eller kulturella skillnader. Syftet med studien var att beskriva sjuksköterskans upplevelser i mötet med patienter med invandrarbakgrund. Vi använde oss av en litteraturstudie där 11 kvalitativa vetenskapliga artiklar granskats och analyserats enligt Evans (2003) modell. Analysen resulterade i följande fem teman; Språkbarriär ? ett hinder för god omvårdnad, Tolkens för - och nackdelar, Anhöriga - på gott och ont, Att uppleva bristfällig kulturkompetens, Upplevelsen av både positiva och negativa fördomar och förutfattade meningar.

Fysisk aktivitet hos äldre är viktig för att förebygga sjukdom samt för att upprätthålla självständighet och en bra livskvalitet. Fysisk aktivitet går att mäta med instrument, såsom accelerometer eller att skatta med skattningsskalor. Syftet med detta arbete var att undersöka om den fysiska aktiviteten är korrelerad med den fysiska funktionsförmågan och om fysisk aktivitet bestämd med accelerometri går att prediktera med skattningsskalor. I studien inkluderades totalt 27 patienter som opererats för höftfraktur. 14 av dessa var kvinnor med medelåldern 80 år (62-94) och 13 var män med medelåldern 82 år (73-94).

Background: Obesity is one of the fastest growing medical conditions both for children and adults. Children with overweight/obesity risk to be exposed to social discrimination and stigmatization from peers. Stigmatization is when the society labels an individual that deviates from what is considered normal behaviour. Purpose: The aim of this literature review was to describe potential stigmatization of children with overweight/obesity. Method: The study was carried out as a general literature review study.

Syfte: Syftet med denna studie var att belysa arbetsmiljöfaktorer som påverkar stress och stresshantering hos sjuksköterskor på arbetsplatsen. Metod: Denna litteraturöversikt innefattar 18 studier av både kvalitativ och kvantitativ ansats som söktes via databasen Wiley InterScience och därefter granskades och analyserades. Resultat: Tre teman konstaterades som berörde; organisatoriska, psykosociala och professionsrelaterade faktorer som bidrog till arbetsrelaterad stress. Av de organisatoriska faktorerna var löneaspekten, inadekvat organisationsuppbyggnad och inadekvat personalbemanning av stor betydelse för den arbetsrelaterade stressen. Psykosociala miljöfaktorer som bristande möjlighet till konsultation och stöd från arbetskollegor och höga arbetskrav var faktorer som genererade stress på arbetsplatsen.

Pheromones are chemical substances representing very specific signal messages within a species. Although a lot remains unknown about their precise effects, it is known that pheromones influence the behaviour of the receiver. Since the mid 1990s, when it was first possible to synthesise analogues of two fractions of feline facial pheromone, F3 (Feliway®) and F4 (Felifriend®), these have been used in so called pheromonotherapy to treat behavioural problems in cats. The initial use of pheromones for specific behavioural problems has been extended to cover the wide field of stress related issues. This studycontains a questionnaire where veterinary Nurses and surgeons at 50 Swedish veterinary hospitals and clinics were asked about their use of synthetic analogues to feline facial pheromones in the care and treatment of cats.

BACKGROUND: Previous research shows that many Nurses feel that patients with borderlinepersonality disorder (BPD) are more difficult to provide care to than patients with otherdiagnoses. Experiences of these meetings with BPD patients are often negative. With thisbackground, a literature study was made in order to elucidate the patients' perspective. AIM:Compiling knowledge of how patients diagnosed with BPD experience their treatment and themeeting with health care professionals. METHOD: Through the databases PsycINFO andPubMed, twelve qualitative articles were selected and summarized in a literature study.
