Background: In Sweden, heart transplantation increases as a method of treatment. Patients undergoing heart transplantation require special needs of care. Nurses have to increase knowledge about experiences that these patients percieve to conform the health care in the future. In this study, health science has been used as a theoretical frame of reference which includes a patient perspective.Aim: The aim of this study was to describe experiences among patients, elder than 18 years old, undergoing heart transplantation.Method: The method was a qualitative descriptive study with a context analysis based on ten scientific articles and an autobiography corresponding with the aim of the study.Results: The results of this study showed six themes about experiences that emerged among patients undergoing heart transplantation: feeling of vitality, existential crisis, importance of social support, destructive feelings, capacity of going on and the experience of quality of life.Conclusion: It?s not a guarantee that the quality of life will increase among patients undergoing heart transplantation and they need a specialist trained nurse available to support at all hours..

Intensivvårdssjuksköterskornas arbete innefattar många situationer med svåra etiska dilemman, relaterade till patienters dödsfall och närståendes sorg i samband meddetta. Syftet med studien var att undersöka vilka erfarenheter intensivvårdssjuksköterskor har av att stödja närstående under tiden förorgandonationsingreppet, samt vid avskedet av den avlidne. En pilotstudie är gjordmed enkäter och öppna svarsalternativ. Enkätsvaren har analyserats genom kvalitativinnehållsanalys enligt Graneheim och Lundman. Resultatet visar att de närståendebehöver stöd genom att sjuksköterskorna visar empati och förståelse samt skapar tidoch rum.

Fetman hos befolkningen ökar i världen, vilket påverkar hälsa och livskvalitet, detta ställer höga krav på vården. Sjuksköterskan har som profession stor betydelse för att kunna påverka människors hälsa. Ett yrkesmässigt förhållningsätt för sjuksköterskan inbegriper en god attityd till varje unik patient. Sjuksköterskan bör reflektera över egna värderingar och attityder till fetma, då det påverkar omvårdnadens kvalitet.  Syftet med studien var att belysa vad som påverkar sjuksköterskor och sjuksköterskestudenters attityder till vuxna patienter med fetma. Metoden som användes var en litteraturstudie, uppbyggd på elva vetenskapliga artiklar.

The education curriculum states that one of the tasks for schools and preschools are to promote gender equality by discouraging traditional gender roles. Gender equality is therefore a part of the fundamental values of the education system. In order to be able to work with the issue of gender equality, the employees need help and further education. Therefore some schools and preeschools contact a teacher specialized in gender equality work.In this essay I have chosen to do a field study of such a teacher at work during different workshops with Nurses and teachers. The aim is to examine how she discusses gender ideas and what discussions arises from the meetings with the attendents.

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a serious postoperative complication and Nurses should therefore observe symptoms in an early stage and implement preventive provisions, for example use of graduated compression stockings (GCS). The nurse is also responsible for making sure that ordinate GCS tried and used correctly by the patients. The aim of this study was to investigate the latest research regarding the efficacy of GCS in prevention of postoperative DVT and if there are any incorrectness in usage. And assess guidelines and recommendations for the usage of GCS. Method: Literature review.

Background: Communication allows people to gain understanding of themselves and their surroundings, which is a prerequisite for good health. The nurse may in her communication help patients develop a feeling that they are not alone in their situation. If the patients cannot express themselves and make themselves understood, it can lead the patients to feel left out which emphasizes the suffering at having aphasia. Aim: The aim of this study was to identify the components which affect nurse?s communication with patients with aphasia.

The aim of this study is to describe and analyse an elderly care team?s prerequisite to anchor a salutogenic perspective and approach in an elderly care team in Kalmar municipality. The study identifies factors that could impede or promote the anchoring and examine how the organisation aims to work in a single direction even if the multidisciplinary team processes a diversity of knowledge, education and abilities. The study is based on qualitative semi-structured interviews from representatives of all professions in the multidisciplinary team; social workers, paramedical professions, Nurses and care-givers. The theoretical frame consisted of a translating perspective, leadership and ideas of interaction and power.

The purpose of this essay was to illustrate professionals? reflections on the concept early attachment between guardian and infant, within different family support activities, and how professionals encourage early attachment between guardian and infant. The mental health state of infants is an important field of knowledge to explore. Attachment between guardian and infant is of the utmost importance for the development of children. The questions we had were: What contains the concept early attachment between guardian and infant from a professional point of view? Which factors have influence on early attachment between guardian and infant? How do professionals work with early attachment between guardian and infant? The essay is a qualitative study based on six interviews with two female district Nurses, two female social welfare secretaries, a female psychologist and a female social worker.

Men abuse women every day. It has become a Health Problem which we affects all of us. Help is available for those women who have the strength to seek it. Health care personnel are often these women?s only contact with the surrounding world.

Bakgrund: På många arbetsplatser världen över erfar sjuksköterskor stress ochupplever sin yrkesroll som psykiskt påfrestande samt att den genererar litenegenkontroll. Av den orsaken behöver sjuksköterskor vara uppdaterade samt hakunskap om olika coping-strategier som kan användas för att hantera denarbetsrelaterade stressen då hen riskerar att drabbas av såväl fysisk- som psykisk ohälsa.Syfte: Syftet med litteraturstudien var att beskriva vilka coping-strategiersjuksköterskor använder för att hantera arbetsrelaterad stress. Metod: Litteraturstudienbaserades på totalt 16 vetenskapliga artiklar varav fyra var av kvalitativ art och 12 avkvantitativ art. Artiklarna granskades och analyserades utifrån en summativinnehållsanalys. Resultat: Resultatet sammanställdes till fyra huvudkategorier;Problemfokuserad-, Emotionsfokuserad-, Omdefinierande-, samt Undvikande coping.Huvudkategorierna innehåller subkategorier med tillhörande coping-strategiersjuksköterskor använt sig av vid hantering av arbetsrelaterad stress.

Every year, approximately 700 000 individuals´ visit an emergency ward in Sweden as a result of injuries and to the emergency ward at Umea University hospital (NUS) about 12 000 injured arrive every year. This study is a retrospective cross-sectional study that surveys injuries caused by crashes among 153 pedestrians and 53 bicyclists, who have been injured in a geographically well defined area during the period January to June 2009. The aim of this study is to survey injuries among pedestrians and cyclists and to examine what preventive measures could reduce these injuries in the Umeå municipality. The results show that falls caused by slipper surface are common among both pedestrians (71 %; n = 109) and bicyclists (32 %; n = 17). Almost one third of the pedestrians (34 %; n = 43) were in the age of 65 or older.

Tidigare forskning har lyft fram hur v?rdpersonalen uts?tts f?r hotfulla situationer som leder till b?de fysiska samt psykiska konsekvenser. F?r att f?rst? helheten beh?vs det en djupare kunskap om sjuksk?terskornas egna upplevelser av att uts?ttas f?r hot och v?ld i sitt arbete.

Syftet med denna litteraturstudie är att belysa omvårdnaden för familjer till barn med hjärtfel ur ett familjeperspektiv. Vården av hjärtsjuka barn och ungdomar kräver en kunskap om dessa sjukdomar inte enbart hos sjukvårdspersonal inom den högspecialiserade barnkardiologin utan inom ett flertal andra specialiteter. Studien omfattar sjuksköterskans omvårdnad av familjer, förberedelser för hemgång, samarbetet mellan olika yrkeskategorier, familjens reaktioner vid denna krissituation och de bearbetningsmodeller som finns till förfogande för att underlätta bearbetningsprocessen. Vidare forskning inom detta område är nödvändig. The purpose of this study is to illuminate the care of families to children with heartdisease from a familyperspective.

Bakgrund: Varje år utexamineras cirka 4000 sjuksköterskor i Sverige. Nyutexaminerade sjuksköterskors ansvarsområde är omvårdnad och att som nyutexaminerad börja arbeta som sjuksköterska kan upplevas olika. Syftet: var att beskriva hur det upplevs att arbeta som nyutexaminerad sjuksköterska. Metod: En allmän litteraturstudie genomfördes och tolv vetenskapliga artiklar analyserades och beskrevs. Resultat: De nyutexaminerade sjuksköterskorna upplevde det som utmanande, stressande, oroande och utvecklande men kände sig otillräckliga i sitt arbete som sjuksköterska.

The aim of this thesis has been to investigate women's experience of the Methadone maintenance treatment and what help they believe they need to be able to recover and to improve their social life and whether the medical- and social workers share the similar view.Our method of investigation has been qualitative interviews with four women in the program, two Nurses and a counsellor at the methadone clinic and two social workers, who have female clients in the program.The questions at issue were:* how did the women describe their life situation during treatment, compared to the situation they had while they were addicted to narcotics,* did the women experience that the treatment they get in the methadone maintenance program is giving them a better social life situation,* did the employees at the clinic and at the social office share the similar view about the treatments as the female patients?Main problems seemed to be; meeting new non-addictive friends and finding something to do. We could se that, in different ways, they need more support. It wasn't always clear to the people who work with them whose responsibility it was, depending on workplace and/or personality..
