A project exploring the boundaries between 2D and 3D. What is surface and what is substance? A countinuation of previous projects where I?ve examined the journey from two dimensional paper to three dimensonal objects. This project deals with the journey from three dimensonality back into a flat two dimensional surface, and the question if something can be both 2D and 3D at the same time. I decided not to center the project around a specific item, but rather let the project itself be in focus.

Fuel wood is currently the third largest assortment from the forest in Sweden after pulpwood and lumber. Branches and tops i.e. logging residues are one of the assortments of fuel wood which is a common by-product after harvesting nowadays. The way to utilize, disintegrate and transport the logging residues varies between northern and southern Sweden. Branches and tops are collected throughout the year at appropriate stands, but are consumed mainly wintertime.

Abstrakt: Demensvård är och har historiskt i vårt land varit starkt medicinskt orienterat, dock har en viss förskjutning skett. Förhållningssätt och bemötande är begrepp som inte är traditionellt medicinska, dock har de blivit allt viktigare i det praktiska arbetet kring demenssjuka. Syftet med denna forskning är att förstå och skapa förståelse för hur ett (special)pedagogiskt perspektiv inom demensvården kan leda till större delaktighet och livskvalitet. Tre kvalitativa intervjuer har genomförts vid ett demensboende i en mellansvensk småstad. Den teoretiska verktygslådan innehåller diskursanalys samt en reflexiv tolkning i pragmatisk anda.

ÅF Test Center in Borlänge had a need to expand their capacity for compressive and tensile strength tests. They wanted to do this by using a hydraulic cylinder, which they already possessed, to apply the force with. This required a load receiving structure. The aim of this work was to design and dimensioning a test bench for a cylinder marked NIKE 300 tons. The work would result in a completed design proposal on a test bench which could manage to run the compressive and tensile strength tests of up to 3000 kN.

This bachelor thesis is intended to gather the knowledge and experimental data on the winter wheat crop production relevant for Swedish conditions, with focus on sowing time, row spacing and seed rate. This essay is a literature study with a minor component based on interviews with farmers producing winter wheat. The work is divided into a background part where basic knowledge of winter wheat physiology, development and environment interactions are described and one part where results of field trials studies are presented. Optimal date of sowing winter wheat depends on annual weather variations. Because it is difficult to forecast the weather the choice of sowing date should be based on weather statistics, production experience and previous results depending on sowing date.

The idea of this paper is to try to give the novel of Gerd Brantenberg, Egalias döttrar, another profundity. To take the book to another dimension, by using the theory of Judith Butler, queer, and her criticism of the Monique Wittig?s earlier theories of the subject queer. I examine how the language is used through a queer analysis by performing a closely reading. My position is that the language assumes a heterosexual norm, which is unveiled by queer.

Femte dimension (5D) är ett internationellt nätverk för forskare, lärare, elever och studenter. I den här uppsatsen har jag genom en studie i Femte dimensionens anda utforskat vad ett IKT- inriktat samarbete mellan fältet och högskola innebär för de inblandade och diskuterat frågan om hur samarbetet med hjälp av IKT kan se ut. Studien genomfördes på LHS under våren 2007 tillsammans med lärarstudenter, lärare och elever från en närliggande skola.Jag vill bidra till en ökad förståelse om IKT´s roll i kollaborativt lärande och samtidigt skaffa mig egna erfarenheter av lärmodellen 5D för att se om denna metod kan vara ett bra sätt att integrera IKT i kurserna på lärarutbildningen. Metoden 5D bygger på kollaborativt arbetssätt. Det är en ide och ett modellsystem för lärandemiljöer som kännetecknas av samarbete, rikhet på verktyg, lek samt ett undersökande och kreativt arbetssätt.

This two years master?s thesis consists of a domain analysis on the local Swedish newspaper Gefle Dagblad (GD). The domain analysis was developed by the Danish library and information scientist Birger Hjørland. The purpose of this theory is to understand the information behavior of individuals by studying the social and collec-tive context which surrounds this person. According to Hjørland, four different areas need to be studied in order to analyze a domain.

This report is a joint venture with SCA Skog AB in the Jämtland forest management area. The company is a major player in the timber market in northern Sweden, and also a large business globally with offices in over 100 countries. The purpose of the study was to find out how timber suppliers want feedback/follow-up after completion of timber business. To determine this, a questionnaire survey was sent out to 75 landowners who supplied the wood for the company during the past year. The questionnaire consisted of a total of 15 questions with the opportunity to comment on certain issues.

The manor Fållnäs gård is situated at the northern end of the bay Fållnäsviken, c. 12 km north-west of Nynäshamn, Sweden. A 300 cm long sediment core collected in the bay has been analyzed regarding pollen stratigraphy. AMS 14C dating of terrestrial macrofossils indicates that the sequence covers the last c. 5400 years.The aim has been to study vegetational changes, especially human impact, in the surroundings of Fållnäs gård.

This thesis is about the effect of political efficacy on societal participation among youths aged 15 to 29. It takes a starting point in the gloomy view of the decline of political participation among citizens in the western world, especially pointing out youths as a threat to democracy. This is a broad subject to take on so my aim becomes a bit more specific. The aim of the thesis is therefore to investigate if belief in ones own capacity and in the responsiveness of the political system affects the actual participation among youths in Europe, independent of a set of alternative predictors. Moreover the thesis is divided into two sub-investigations, one qualitative and one quantitative.

I detta arbete undersöks vilken grad av inomartskonkurrens som ger upphov till ett observerat utbredningsmönster av maskrosor (Taraxacum sect. Ruderalia). Maskrosor har både fröspridning och vegetativ förökning. Studien hypotiserar att utbredningen kan beskrivas utifrån enkla regler för spridning och konkurrens. Dessa används i simuleringar med en binär cellulär automat där utveckling sker i deterministiska tidssteg.

Detta är ett forskningsarbete där ett modulsystem av skärmar, gjorda i olika ribbkonstruktioner som i sig bildar skuggspel, är utplacerade i olika miljöer.De olika miljöerna skiljer sig åt vad gäller ljussättning. Jag har använt mig av två utomhusmiljöer med solljus, en miljö med endast artificiellt ljus samt två  inomhusmiljöer med dagsljus. Med hjälp av en uppsättning frågeställningar kring vad som händer med ljuset och skuggorna, stämningen, färgerna osv. har jag jämfört miljöerna systematiskt.Som inredningsarkitekt och möbeldesigner har jag genom detta kommit fram till intressanta resultat om hur rumsupplevelsen kan förändras med enkla medel..

In order to answer the question in the title, a cross-cultural analysis of two countries was done. Countries chosen were the Republic of Latvia and the Kingdom of Spain. The need for this research was suggested by increased cross-border business activities inside the European Union, and the lack of previous studies involving new Member States. The aim of the research was to see what environmental factors influence advertising adaptation in the European Union, as well as to evaluate the applicability of a standardisation approach. According to the theory, there are three external factors that influence the creation of a global advertising.

The purpose of this study was to determine if wellness benefits led to any changes in exercise habits among employed postmen. The study was a cross-sectional study carried out by a quantitative method. The collection of data took the form of a questionnaire. The sample consisted of 30 postmen employed at a post office in northern Sweden. The results show that of the postman who use health care benefits, there has been a relatively small change in exercise habits.
