This essay deals with the individual collecting of four individuals with different backgrounds and lives. The essay investigates what, how and why people collect. It provides a stepping-stone in moving closer to understanding one, in human nature, deeply rooted phenomenon - collecting.The essay is based on a list of questions made by the Nordic Museum in Stockholm. It also includes in-depth examinations of four person?s passion of collecting, in which four individuals were interviewed: a pig collector, a collector of Mickey Mouse items, a multi-collector of objects from other cultures and one collector of items related to the artist Madonna.

The forest and mire landscape surrounding the north Swedish villages have been of fundamental importance through time for the farmers. In the Scandinavian summer farm system the forest and mire pasture was used to its full potential. The system consisted of smaller summer farms some kilometres from the main farm in the village, and were the livestock grazed in the forest around the summer farm. The livestock affect their environment, and grazed forests generally contain a higher biodiversity than an ungrazed forest. The overall aim of this thesis is to understand the impact of livestock grazing on a northern forest ecosystem over a long time period.

Fo?r att underso?ka problemformuleringen gjordes en tva?fallstudie besta?ende av enka?tunderso?kningar och semi-strukturerade intervjuer pa? respektive fallfo?retag.

AimThe aim of this study was to map the injury panorama of traumatic injuries related to ice hockey in Sweden 2006-2011. In addition to that the aim was to compare whether there were any gender differences regarding traumatic ice hockey injuries. MethodThe present study was based on data from the Folksam insurance company between 2006 and 2011. The population consisted of ice hockey players in a club affiliated to the Swedish Ice Hockey Federation and that had sustained a traumatic injury related to ice hockey that resulted in medical care and then was reported to Folksam. The results are presented with descriptive statistics such as mean and standard deviation, median range and frequencies. ResultsThe head was the most common injury localization followed by the upper extremity where the shoulder accounted for a high number of injuries. Fracture was the most common type of injury for both male and female players.

In 1930 a new library reform came into force, which in reality was the beginning of the modern Swedish library. The purpose of this reform was to take measures to promote efficiency, for example to increase library co-operation. The Government grants were at the same time raised considerably. However, as early as in 1930, but especially the following year, the depression hit Sweden. The Government reduced the grants until the first half of 1936.

My project is based on a journey to India in thewinter of 2011-12. I knew that I wanted to dosome sort of travelouge based on my photos fromthe trip. I also knew I wanted to do some sort ofbook. How this, the story of my travels in India,would be told and what the theme was going to be,that was more elusive.I started out with the notion of a retelling of theold epic Ramayana and combining this with mytravels and the critical perspective of Edward W.Saids Orientalism. This proved to be an impossibleequation and I also had to rework my plan to fitthe tight timeframe I had.

Syftet med studien var att få kunskap om vilka motivationsfaktorer, inre och yttre, som är viktiga hos personal inom serviceyrken. Vidare studerades den uppfattade sammanhållningen inom målgruppen. Av speciellt intresse var att studera korrelationer mellan sammanhållning och inre/yttre motivationsfaktorer samt om kontroll i arbetet och socialt stöd inverkar på dessa faktorer. I undersökningen deltog 88 individer, 38 män och 50 kvinnor, i åldrarna 18-65 (M=34,63 Sd=12,40). Datainsamlingen skedde med hjälp av ett frågeformulär baserat på QPS Nordic och Group Environment Questionnaire (GEQ).

The development of defoaming additives is steadily progressing and there are therefore always new and improved additives on the market. Some modern additives provide the desired defoaming effects by themselves, in contrasts to previous additives that needed to be used in combination with other additives. The task of this bachelors thesis was to evaluate the possibility of using these improved defoaming additives, with the aim to find alternatives that give the system better defoaming attributes while, at the same time, using less of the primary products. The tests were carried out in the coating type Teknocryl Aqua Combi 2780. The coating is a waterborne air drying acrylat-latex/alkyd based coating that can be used for both single coat painting and primer.

 Problem   Are there any abnormal changes in the parent company's share price at the news of a spin?off.ObjectiveThe main purpose of the study is to investigate how the news of a spin-off affects the parent company's share price. In other words if the news of the Spin-off gives an abnormal return on the Stockholm Stock Exchange during the specific period of 1998?2008. In addressing this, the paper will also investigate the following sub sections: are there any differences in the abnormal returns in various sectors and what the reasons to perform a spin?off in the Swedish market are.MethodAn event study in which market data is used to measure specific events? impact on the value of the company and on the effects on the stock market.

Detta arbete undersöker Sveriges val att delta med stridsflyg i Libyen-kriget 2011. Syftet är att öka förståelsen för beslutsprocessen och för orsakerna till beslutet. En holistisk enfallstudie av besluts-processen genomförs utifrån perspektiven möjlighet och vilja, vilka tar sin grund i en teori som ut-vecklats av Harvey Starr. En teoriutveckling genomförs med en kunskapsöversikt över tidigare forskningsresultat på det studerade fallet som grund. Orsakskategorier skapas vilka sedan används i analysen av empirin.

This bachelor thesis consists of an analysis of museum environment. In the research, case studies have been done at the, Stockholm based museums, Swedish museum of Natural history?s exhibition Natur i Sverige (Nature in Sweden) and the Nordiska museet?s (Nordic history) exhibition Modemakt (Power of fashion) and learning environment Lekstugan (playhouse). The purpose of the research was to study how cultural heritage is used and developed within the museum pedagogy aimed at children. The research is based on a multimodal approach with focus on learning resources.The research examines the museums focus on children and youngsters, what the goals for this focus looks like on respective museum and how the focus is visible in the actual museums.

Denna uppsats undersöker hur kristendomen konstitueras när text i ett antal skolböcker utgivna efter 2011 års kursplan för åk 7-9 behandlar livsfrågor. Studien tar ansats i ett diskursanalytiskt perspektiv grundat i diskursteori samt John Deweys transaktionsbegrepp. Det innebär att skolböckers texter identifieras i termer av diskurser vilka betraktats som deltagare i den verklighet som framträder för eleven. Inom detta perspektiv är en viktig utgångspunkt att på det sätt vi individer uppfattar oss själva och omgivningen styrs av och konstitueras i språket.  På så sätt kan skolböckernas språk genom text sägas konstruera verkligheten för eleven vilket i sin tur får konsekvenser för elevens förhållande till kristendomen och dess utövare. Men också i relation till elevens eget utvecklande av en personlig livsåskådning.

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att undersöka hur travhästar vilka behandlats kirurgiskt vid kolik på UDS 2007-2011 återgår till tävling samt att utvärdera om detta går att göra med hjälp av den omfattande tävlingsdatabas för svenska travhästar som finns tillgänglig på www.travsport.se. Hästarna till studien har identifierats ur journalsystemet som används på Hästkliniken UDS. För de hästar som stämde in på uppsatta kriterier för deltagande i studien valdes även en representativ kontrollgrupp av hästar ut, utformad att vara så lika den opererade gruppen som möjligt vid tidpunkten precis före operationen. De båda grupperna har sedan jämförts med avseende på prestation. Statistik på antal starter, insprungna pengar per start och totalt insprungna pengar har för alla hästar inhämtats ur tävlingsdatabasen. Totalt ingår sex opererade och 12 kontrollhästar i studien, av de sex opererade har fem startat under uppföljningsperioden och alla referenshästar har startat.

Vår frågeställning under arbetet var hur mediernas gestaltning av psykvården förändrats 1995/1996 (period 1) jämfört med 2010/2011 (period 2). Förändringen som vi ville ta reda på var angående gestaltning, vilka som får komma till tals och om en rikstäckande tidning skiljer sig från en mer regional tidning. Även om kvinnliga och manliga journalister gestaltar olika. Vi valde 120 artiklar från Dagens Nyheter (DN), Aftonbladet (AB) och Helsingborgs Dagblad (HD). 20 artiklar per tidning och jämförelsepunkt.

I denna studie undersöks följderna av en revisionsrapport kring det kommunala uppföljningsansvaret i Stockholms stad. I rapporten, som är från 2009, ger stadens revisorer rekommendationer för hur arbetet med att följa upp ungdomar 16-19 år kan effektiviseras. Revisorerna anser bland annat att kommunstyrelsen bör utarbeta ett förslag till kommunfullmäktige om hur innebörden av det kommunala uppföljningsansvaret kan förtydligas. Revisorerna påpekar vidare att det finns behov av att utveckla samverkansformer mellan olika aktörer för att ungdomarna ska kunna erbjudas mer än enbart utbildning. Detta är vad ungdomarna i dagsläget erbjuds, genom Gymnasieslussen, men ingen söker aktivt upp de individer som tackar nej till utbildning eller inte nås.Studiens resultat visar att kommunstyrelsen inte följt revisorernas rekommendation om att ge fullmäktige underlag för ett förtydligande.
