Newspaper articles and media have shown that the use of illegal weight loss compounds, such as ephedrine and Melanotan, is becoming more common among adolescent girls, who are at risk of becoming a new group of addicts. These girls are rarely aware of the risks that the use of these compounds entails and the consequences that could adversely affect their bodies, mentally and physically. The aim of this paper was to investigate the use of and attitudes towards illegal weight loss compounds amongst girls in year three, at Swedish upper secondary schools. In order to do that, a questionnaire was sent out to 120 girls in five different high schools, with varying college preparatory and vocational program directions. My research shows that the use of illegal weight loss compounds, particularly ephedrine, was found among girls in year three, at upper secondary schools. Seven percent of the girls claimed they use, primarily, ephedrine. This result exceeds earlier studies findings on boys' use of anabolic androgenic steroids (AAS).

Examensarbetet har gjorts utifrån Arkitektkopia AB:s vägnar för att undersöka gränsvärden för bildupplösning inom digi-taltryck med bibehållen bildkvalitet. Detta för att om möjligt höja produktionshastigheten då en lägre bildupplösning ger en mindre filstorlek som går fortare att cmykseparera i RIP:en. Dessutom behövde Arkitektkopia AB en korrigering och uppdatering av sin dåvarande tabell för kundrekommendationer beträffande bildupplösning för olika format och betrakt-ningsavstånd. En visuell undersökning med Arkitektkopias kunder och privatpersoner har gjorts för att kunna fastställa riktvärden för bildupplösning och utröna toleransen för en godtagbar bildkvalitet. Resultaten utifrån kundundersökningen har legat till grund för den nya tabellen med kundrekommendationer som examensarbetet resulterat i.

Att göra böcker i digitala format är inte längre någon nyhet då det har förekommit länge. Den svenska marknaden har dock inte förflyttat fokus från den traditionella fysiska boken till de digitala formaten ännu. Den nya tekniken har potential att förändra marknaden och göra den mer kommersiell med fler alternativ till den traditionella boken och flera amerikanska storföretag har utvecklat affärsmodeller som utnyttjar detta. Den amerikanska försäljningen av e-böcker har under år 2012 gått om försäljningen för inbundna böcker. I Sverige var marknaden för e-böcker i början av 2012 inte större än 1,5 procent av bokmarknaden.För de svenska författare och bokförlag som vill utforska kommersiella strategier för utgivning av e-böcker står främst nordamerikanska och några få svenska företag till buds med olika alternativ för utgivningen.

One part of the purpose of this essay is also to inquire how the Swedish evening press paid regard to the ethical publicity rules in their descriptions.

Syftet med denna studie är att ur ett socialpsykologisktperspektiv få förståelse för och kunskap om hur Instagram med dess format kan varaen del av identitetsskapande processer samt fungera som ett verktyg försjälvpresentation. Det empiriska materialet består av tio kvalitativa intervjuer medkvinnor i åldrarna 20-25 som är aktiva Instagram-användare. Det teoretiska ramverketbygger på Meads teorier om jaget, Asplunds teori om social responsivitet, Giddensteori om självet som ett reflexivt projekt samt begrepp från Goffmans dramaturgiskaperspektiv. Resultat från studien visar att Instagram kan tolkas som en plattform därjaget och identiteten kan konstrueras.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate possible links between short selling and the stock market movements using econometric test models. Methodology: A quantitative study carried out on the time series stock lending and OMX Stockholm 30 index. Information is gathered through qualitative interviews with specialists in the field of stock lending, and studies of relevant newspaper articles and reports. Theoretical approach: The theoretical frame of reference is a further consideration of supply and demand theory. The empirical study is implemented by the simple linear regression model and a vector autoregressive model (VAR).

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to examine how the literature criticism are in the Swedish media in the reception of the novel Mosquitoes and tigers from 2007 written by the Swedish author Maja Lundgren. A second aim is to examine how master suppression techniques have been used by the literature critics in the newspaper debate. This qualitative study is based upon a total of 52 articles and reviews from five big Swedish newspapers. The theoretical approach, literature criticism, mainly originates from the Swedish professor in Literature Science Tomas Forser and the literature scholar Gunnar Hansson.

Med onlinefilm menas film som i ett digitalt format distribueras och konsumeras via Internet, antingen genom att ladda ned eller streama filmen. Målgruppen för undersökningen bestod av civilingenjörsstudenter inom informationsteknologiska programmet vid Uppsala Universitet. För att kunna ta fram faktorer att behandla i enkätundersökningen användes ett sätt att se på produkten som innehåller tre olika nivåer. För att anpassa synsättet till produkten onlinefilm och denna uppsats har modellen som från början innehöll nivåerna kärnprodukt, den faktiska produkten och den utvidgade produkten breddats till att också innefatta pris och konsumentbeteende.

The purpose of this Master's thesis is to study metadata and its use at Web sites of six Swedish universities and colleges. Each Web site has been examined at three different hierarchical levels and the total number of examined Web pages is 258. 16 questionnaires have also been sent to webmasters at the six universities and colleges. The results show that metadata refers to the data which can assist to organize, describe, identify, locate, evaluate and retrieve resources on the Internet. Even though there are several different metadata formats available on the Internet, the commercial search engines only support the HTML's title tag and the meta tags with the attributes keywords and description.

The main purpose of a Flight Data Recorder (FDR) is to facilitate the investigation of incidents. In order to interpret the data that has been recorded in the FDR the data has to be visualized in some way. This can be done with software on a computer or with hardware that is specific for the model of aircraft that the data originates from.The aim of this project is to visualize data for six parameters from the FDR of Saab 2000 in an avionics rig. The avionics rig resembles the cockpit of Saab 2000 and the displays in it are identical to the ones found in the plane. All six parameters are shown on the same display.Due to safety regulation vital systems in aircraft are doubled, with one system on the left side and one on the right.

The purpose of this Bachelor's thesis is to study the reasoning behind classification, cataloging and shelf arrangement of nonfiction graphic novels in public libraries. The aim was to examine which aspects of accessibility influence in which collection nonfiction graphic novels are placed.With qualitative semi-structured interviews we learned how six librarians motivated their choices concerning nonfiction graphic novels. We also interviewed a cataloger from Bibliotekstjänst to examine how nonfiction graphic novels are classified. In our analysis we compared our results to theories and practices concerning alternative shelf arrangements in libraries and legitimization of graphic novels. We found three types of shelf arrangements for nonfiction graphic novels: graphic novel shelf, nonfiction classification code and a mix of the two.

This essay researches how newspapers created fictional reader identities through their content. Three newspapers have been studied from the week first to eight of February 1890, Nya Dagligt Allehanda, Dagens Nyheter and Stockholms Nyheter. The question that the essay is attempting to answer is which fictional readers were created. This is done through both a content analysis and a deeper language analysis of the newspapers. The text is seen as an active agent, creating the identity of the reader that they imagine when they write, an ideal reader.

  ?this Unpleasent klientel?A study on refugee care in Växjö between the years 1944 and 1947.The purpose of this study was to examine the treatment of sick refugees in Växjö in the 1940s. To achieve this a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods were used. The material found in the local archive and local newspaper was then put together and analyzed from the theoretical perspective, gender, class, ethnicity and social status.The result of this study shows that there were two main treatment wards for refugees, one that was supposed to treat women and children with active tuberculosis and the other ward treated refuges with ?epidemic diseases.? Foreign citizens were also taken care of in other words that were also not meant for refugees only, like the Epidemic hospital, which treated about 80 patients of a foreign nationality between 1944 and 1946.
