The focus of this thesis is to examine posts on library?s Facebook pages and to investigate possible connections between posts and user response. The study examines posts published from thirty different libraries Facebook pages over a two week period to examine if any correlation between different subjects or types of posts affects the degree and type of response from the users.The findings show that photos stand for the majority of the published post concerning its type and that activities at the library was the most common subject of posts. After using eta as measure of association a tenuous connection between degree of response and the posts subject and between the degree of response and the type of post was found. The standard deviation, however, was high in the majority of the variables used.

Syfte: Det vi vill åstadkomma med uppsatsen är att kartlägga de metoder som är mest lämpade för att mäta effekten av produktplacering i film. Relevanta aspekter att effektmäta är försäljning, ökad märkesmedvetenhet hos konsument, förstärkning av varumärke och förändring av företagets image. Vidare kommer vi att analysera och utvärdera vilken eller vilka metoder som ger bäst information på ovan nämnda områden. Metod: Vårt arbete bygger metodmässigt på att utföra intervjuer med produktplacerande företag, marknadsundersökningsföretag och mediekonsulter för att se hur utbredd produktplacering och effektmätning av denna är. Litteraturstudier är ett annat metodmässigt tillvägagångssätt där vi ser på exponering av produktplacering, varumärkes funktion, sponsringens relevans för produktplacering och hur man bäst effektmäter den.

Sammanfattning Bakgrund Stråldosen vid en datortomografiundersökning (CT-undersökning) kan vara 100 gånger större än vid en konventionell röntgenundersökning [1]. På 10 år har antalet CT-undersökningar nästan fördubblats [2], vilket också innebär att stråldosen till patienterna ökar [1]. Bröstkörtlarna är ett av de mest strålkänsliga organen och är därför viktiga att skydda [3, 4]. Material som dämpar röntgenstrålning kraftigt och som lämpar sig för strålskydd är t.ex. bly och vismut [5].

This study concerns how Muslims are portrayed in a choice of twelve news articles from Swedish dailies and tabloid newspapers on the aftermath of the film Innocence of Muslims published on YouTube. All articles are distributed in the newspapers Aftonbladet, Expressen, Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet in the period of September 11th, 2012 until September 30th, 2012.For this study, a qualitative text analysis has been embraced and focus has been on van Dijk?s Critical discourse analysis to the texts, with additional features from semiotics applied on the images.The theories consist of Critical discourse analysis, hegemony, ideology and power, postcolonialism and stereotyping.In the qualitative content analysis, concrete examples from the articles are retrieved and commented. These have been divided into various themes, which are trends that the authors have been able to distinguish in the analysis.The result shows that Muslims in the analyzed newspapers are portrayed as the others, unimportant and extremely religious, in a negative manner rather than a positive. Moreover the press has tendencies to generalize Muslims as a group.

Förutom reklam, logotyp och slogans lyfter företag i servicebranschen in inredning och arkitektur som en del av detta varumärkesarbete. Där har lokalen betydelse för att kunderna ska lockas till butiken eller restaurangen, öka köpintentionen samt för att kommunicera företagets värdeord.

The goal of this essay was to study if the way gaming review sites presented their review evaluation has any influences the level of product involvement in the users it attracts. The assumption we did during the essay was that there was a connection between user?s level of product involvement and the quality of the community. To test this assumption we started out by performing observations on the comment sections in three gaming news sites which varied in their method for evaluating games. The result of these observations showed a significantly higher community quality in one of the websites.

Sweden is a multi cultural country, where almost twenty percent of the population come from another cultural background. This study examines to what extent people with a foreign origin appear in two local, Swedish newspapers, Barometern and Östra Småland, and what role they are given. Do they appear as foreigners or immigrants or do they figure as any Swede, irrespective of their origin background?We have made a review by studying pictures of people with a foreign origin, based on name and appearance. During the time period, March 1st ? April 30 th 2010, there were 2206 articles with pictures of people where 189 of them did show people with a foreign origin.

Prisons are for many an unknown world, and few know about the prison culture which includes unwritten rules, power structures, interactions and relationships between inmates and correctional employees.While many think that Swedish prisons are too comfortable,inmates are facing extreme stress due to surveillance and detention, by depriving inmates their possibility to shape their own lives. When the inmates is deprived of control over their own life?s the penal system have great power to shape and to influence the inmates.The purpose of this paper is to investigate prisoners' experiences of treatment and exercise of power in prisons. Starting point is to examine what are the kinds of relationships between prison officers and inmates from a power perspective, if there is any difference between the closed and open prisons and how the inmates affected by the structures that exist.Based on my overall purpose, and with my informant´s stories which revealed a number of similar points, four main headings were developed; Mass media and society´s view, and unknown world, interaction between inmates and prison officers and consequences.Prison officers with the role as a contact persons as well and other staff which work close to the inmates play a significant role by supporting through motivational interviewing and can help the inmates to gain insight about their life situation and actions. My informant?s underlined that a good contact person can either help or discourage.Inmates who contributed with their experiences express that there is a big difference between open-and closed prisons.

IDCT (Inverse Discrete Cosine Transform) is a common algorithm being used with image and sound decompression. The algorithm is a Fourier related transform which can occur in many different types like, one-dimensional, two-dimensional, three-dimensional and many more.The goal with this thesis is to create a fast and low effect version of two-dimensional IDCT algorithm, where techniques as multiple-constant multiplication and subexpression sharing plus bit-serial and bit-parallel arithmetic are used.The result is a hardware implementation with power consumption at 19,56 mW..

De flesta samhällen i världen är idag påverkade av nyliberala strömningar vilka består av en önskan om en fri marknad utan ingripande från staten. I detta ingår att människan bör frigöras från alla reglerande faktorer i samhället, vilket tar sig uttryck på flera sätt. Ett av dem är ökat fokus på tillväxt och marknadsföring vilket inte bara påverkar företag utan också kommuner och regioner vilka allt mer måste konkurrera mot varandra om befolkning, företag och turister. I denna uppsats undersöks hur en region, i detta fall regionen Jämtland, använder sig av mat som ett regionalt utvecklingsverktyg. Jag har valt att undersöka ett projekt där offentliga och privata aktörer samarbetar för att utveckla Jämtland som en matregion. Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka hur aktörerna jobbar, vilka föreställningar de har om mat samt vad de vill uppnå med detta projekt.

The aim of this bachelor´s thesis ist to analyze the idea progress in the party programs in the swedish Centre-party during the time 1910-1959. The progress in the party program is compared with the evolution of society during the same period.The bachelor´s aim is also to analyze how each new program is described in newspapers, two newspapers were chosen to make the comparison; Arbetet (a social-democratic newspaper), and Skånska Dagbladet (a centre-party newspaper). The result shows that the party in the beginning was conservative and against both capitalism and socialism. The start of the party was a reaction against the new electionsystem which was introduced in Sweden in 1909.The party took a clear standpoint for the Swedish farmers, but after 1933, they were standing for the whole countryside. In the 1940´s and the 1950´s the party became more like a social liberal party rather than an agrarian party only for the farmers.The party programs are not given much space in the two newspapers.

Intermodulated force microscope (ImAFM) is a type of dynamic AFM. ImAFM opens up possibilities for mapping the topography and making quantitative determinations of material parameters at the same time. With increased information the need to generate more informative images of the sample emerges. In this Bachelor's degree project I have created tools for rendering images of a sample. The topography is plotted as the height and a material parameter is color coded on topography.

Data har sammanställts genom att infoga nyckelord i en tabell som sedan ligger till grund för analys där teoretiskt stöd finns från vetenskapliga artiklar. Resultat & slutsats: Företag arbetar med sponsring i huvudsak för att bidra till samhällsnytta samtidigt som företagen marknadsförs, de använder sponsring både för att skapa nytta för samhället och nytta för företaget. Vi har funnit att företagen befinner sig i utvecklingsfas där vikten nu är att samarbeta och kräva något tillbaka från de organisationer som erhåller stöd. Förslag till fortsatt forskning: Vi föreslår fler studier som studerar den utvecklingsfas företag befinner sig inom och om samarbetsavtal är effektivare än sponsoravtal, om företagens arbete för hållbart samhälle uppfattas som mer trovärdigt med samarbetsavtal än med sponsoravtal. Uppsatsens bidrag: Studien bidrar till att ge ökad förståelse för företagens sponsorarbete och visar att samhällsnyttan är det som motiverar till sponsorarbete. Products and services have for a long time competed with their brands. For some time now, cities have begun to compete with each other to attract visitors and other stakeholders to come to their town. It is important that the citizens feel as they are a part of the message that the city sends out in its communication.Cities are today working actively with their brands, much like regular companies, in order to create the profile and image in order to be competitive against other cities and places. Cities and places are part of a dynamic process which includes both positive and negative events. These events might have an impact on the brands, and therefore it is a necessity to be able to react on these events to make the most of positive things and deal with the negative in a way that minimizes the effects on the brand.Citybranding as a research field is quite new.

This paper examines the professional role of the music journalist and how it has been affected by the expansion of the Internet. The study aims to examine  the profession's outlook and how professional music journalists are working to reach the public with interesting information, despite the fact that the audience of today often can be first to deliver the news. Through qualitative research interviews with three current music journalists the professional role and its development is examined. Based on theories and previous research on journalism, how the media communicates and its importance to society, what it is to be a music journalist and the spread of digitization and the impact of file sharing the results are analyzed. The conclusions of the study are that it isn?t a profession that is disappearing but rather a profession that is working towards a new future.
