The Middle Ages in contemporary time ? Salve City; a reconstruction in the Between Land is an essay dealing with the reconstruction of medieval Kalmar. The Salve City is a melting pot of such diverse fields as archaeology, pedagogies, reconstruction, historical tourism, regional development policy et cetera. Together, these parts form a space for research and mediation, business and pleasure, a place where commercialism and historical tourism can function alongside with history enthusiasts and entrepreneurs. Vi vill med den här uppsatsen undersöka om brukskvaliteter kan vara ett stöd vid mjukvaruutveckling, med fokus på dess kommunikativa egenskaper och hur de kan bidra till skapandet av samförståelse. Background: Many authors consider knowledge to be a significant source for competitive advantage. Replicating companies found their competitiveness on an ability to leverage its knowledge base by replicating its business model in new contexts, a process often referred to as the McDonalds approach. Several authors emphasize that an efficient method for knowledge transfer may increase the risk for imitation. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine in an explorative manner how strategies for replicating complex knowledge systems are employed and developed. Furthermore, our ambition is to explore the notion of replication strategy.

Bakgrund: Denna uppsats handlar om hur företag ska kunna attrahera framtida kompetens med en ny varumärkesstrategi. ?Employer Branding? är namnet på denna strategi och beskrivs av konsulter som ett medel för företag att via en genomtänkt varumärkesstrategi profilera företaget på kompetensmarknaden. Grunderna i en Employer Branding-strategi innefattar följande aspekter: att kunna attrahera och behålla den bästa kompetensen samt att ena företaget kring sin vision och kultur. Vi har i denna uppsats undersökt och definierat vad en Employer Branding-strategi innebär och hur begreppet kan ställas i relation till existerande teorier.

The aim of this study is to point out different aspects of modernity in the cookbook Husmoderns Köksalmanack. It is a publication that has been published annually since 1933. The books have been studied in the light of Anthony Giddens´ theoretical perspective on modernity. The study is based on three different themes that all can be linked to modernity. These themes are; Time and space, Locally, regionally and globally, and Advice.

Inriktningen är utformning av allmänna utrymmen i det offentliga uterummet med fokus att öka tillgängligheten och tillgången av grönytor och parker.Projektet syftar i att skapa värdefulla platser för ökad trygghet och trivsel. Målsättningen är också att visualisera en vision om rum för upplevelser och aktiviteter. Rum i vilka allmänheten frivilligt vistas om den fysiska miljön är god. In this paper we have studied possible future uses for Additive Manufacturing (commonly referred to as 3D-printing) in Space. More specifically we have sought to establish how Additive Manufacturing can be used to construct structures on the Moon. Our studies have shown that Additive Manufacturing has great potential for establishing colonies on not only the Moon, but perhaps even further away from our home planet. With Contour Crafting-technology in combination with ISRU (In Situ Resource Utilization) we could, with material already present in the sediment layers of the Moon, construct advanced structures without having to transfer any extra material from Earth. This would lower the costs of establishing a colony on the Moon to such extents that it could actually be fiscally possible..

This thesis treats Building Information Modeling, BIM, in the production stage. Brieflydescribed BIM is virtual model of a building object where all information about theobject is gathered. The urban physical practice of parkour can be described as male dominated. In thispaper, however, I choose to focus on women participating in the sport. My materialconsist of interviews with five Swedish women who regularly perform parkour.Through the phenomenology of Simone de Beauvoir, Iris Marion Young and SaraAhmed, I analyze the women?s relationship to the body and (public) space. Myconclusion is that engaging in parkour has changed the way the women understandtheir own corporeality, from an ?I cannot? to an ?I can?.

In order to optimize calf welfare and health it is important to know the behavior of cattle in free ranging conditions. When the cow is about to give birth to a calf she will leave the heard about 12 hours before. It is then rather obvious that isolating the cow about calving time in a single pen is imitating the cows? natural behavior. To save space and minimize building cost it?s common that the farmers build calving pens for four of five cows especially at larger farms.

Detta examensarbete har genomförts hos General Electric Healthcare Life Science i Umeå, GEHC Umeå, som tillverkar högteknologiska laboratorieinstrument. GEHC Umeå upplevde att deras kundklagomålsprocess hade stor förbättringspotential, men var inte helt säkra i vilket avseende de helst ville förbättra den. För att kartlägga problemkategorierna inom processen genomfördes en förstudie med några medarbetare, i Umeå som är involverade i processen. De identifierade problemkategorierna var ledtid, lärande av kundklagomålen, utförligheten och professionalismen av svar på kundklagomålsärenden samt utbildningsbrist hos medarbetarna. Utifrån förstudien skapades en teoretisk referensram och processen analyserades genom litteratur inom offensiv kvalitetsutveckling och Lean.

Abstract ? What is an exhibition hall? ? How do you create tension between art and nature? ? Why should an exhibition hall be situated in the country side; would that add to the experience? ? What are the conditions of exhibiting contemporary art? These are some of the questions I first asked myself when I came to work with this project on an exhibition hall outside Kivik, Österlen. These questions brought me to new places, meetings and ideas. The team working actively to realize this project, calls it ?Art by the Sea?. The team has been working with the project since 2001 .
