Abstract: A public service sector in constant reformation is a common phenomenon in Sweden. This also includes the municipal care organisations. A central role in those reformations has the public middle chief who often is the one to implemented reforms to the organiza-tion's staff.This study is examining the role of the public middle manager in care organisations dur-ing the implementation of common ideologies value foundation in a present organisa-tion's reform. The study tries to elucidate in which way the public middle managers in municipal care organisations experience their roles, which expectations the management of the organisation has on their roles and how a present organisation changes inflict on the contents of the role. If the middle manager in a municipal care organisation feels like normative for the personal group is another aspect.There are four concepts used as theoretic framework in the study, organization, imple-mentation and public middle managers in a general aspect and the middle manager in a municipal care organisation in a specific aspect.

Äldreomsorgen har fĂ„tt kritik i massmedia under den senaste tiden vilket har bidragit till flera omorganisationer som skett sedan 1990-talet. Omorganisationerna har vuxit fram ur ett nytt styrningssĂ€tt som gĂ„r under begreppet New public management (NPM), som fokuserar pĂ„ styrning, uppföljning och redovisning. NPM har mĂ„nga influenser frĂ„n det privata nĂ€ringslivet och förĂ€ndringar som skett har bland annat inneburit att verksamheterna arbetar för en ökad effektivisering av organisationen, mĂ„l- och resultatstyrning samt ökad kvalitet. Syftet med uppsatsen Ă€r att undersöka hur styrningen som Ă€r i linje med NPM beskrivs av chefer pĂ„ olika organisatoriska nivĂ„er inom Ă€ldreomsorgen i Stockholms stad. FrĂ„gestĂ€llningen som besvaras i uppsatsen Ă€r hur verksamhetscheferna respektive enhetscheferna beskriver att styrningen som Ă€r i linje med NPM har pĂ„verkat verksamheterna samt deras arbetssituation.Teorier om byrĂ„krati, postbyrĂ„krati samt NPM anvĂ€nds som referensram i uppsatsen.

The aim of this Master's thesis is to study the public library identity from a brand perspective, how the public library brand identitity is communicated through blogs and what is communicated in them.The authors analyse the public library identity through selected concepts and a model within AakerÂŽs and KapfererÂŽs branding theories. These theories have been applied on literature and blogs as a method. The authors have examined literature about the public library identity in different works within Library and Information Science and political documents that applied to public libraries. An empirical study has been carried out on blogs published by public libraries in Sweden.The result of this study has lead to the identification of different core and extended identities for the public library brand. The core identities have been identified as democracy, adult education (the swedish word ?folkbildning? has no correct translation in english, adult education is the recommended related term) and lifelong learning.

The purpose of the master thesis was to reflect and analyze music library activities and policies in the public libraries in the area around the city of BorÄs, in the south-western part of Sweden. With this thesis I also wanted to look at the interaction between the public libraries, the music school and the music associations in the same area. To investigate these matters, qualitative method was used in the form of interviews with seven librarians from seven different libraries and five representatives of different local music organizations. Other methods used were observations and source studies. The literature used discusses the role of the music department of public libraries as well as that of a music librarian working in a public library.

Syftet var att undersöka hur medarbetare inom Àldreomsorgen uppfattar Àldreomsorgen som arbetsplats samt klargöra vilka faktorer som de upplever gör och skulle kunna göra Àldreomsorgen till en attraktiv arbetsplats. En kvalitativ metod tillÀmpades genom semistrukturerade intervjuer med undersköterskor och vÄrdbitrÀden inom Àldreomsorgen i KungÀlvs kommun. Fyra av respondenterna var anstÀllda dÄ studien genomfördes och tvÄ av dem hade nyligen slutat.Resultatet visar en mÄngfasetterad uppfattning om Àldreomsorgen som arbetsplats. Resursfördelningen pÄ arbetsplatsen pÄverkar hur vÄrden bedrivs samtidigt som medarbetarens egen vilja har en inverkan. Den frÀmsta faktorn som gör Àldreomsorgen till en attraktiv arbetsplats Àr den sociala kontakten med de Àldre.

This Master thesis aims to study the relation between Swedish governmental cultural policy and cultural events at two Swedish public libraries. The Masters thesis demonstrates how national cultural policy regulates every part of the public library. This demonstration is a result based upon national cultural policy documents and interviews with employees at two public libraries in Sweden. The conclusion that national cultural policy regulates this part of the public library is drawn with help of the circle of culture as applied in Culture Studies and Michel Foucault theories of power. The thesis contains the answer of four questions, two involving cultural policy and the other two events at the library.

The first aim of this study is to examine what the differences are between the Classic directive (directive 2004/18/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 31 March 2004 on the coordination of procedures for the award of public works contracts, public supply contracts and public service contracts) and the Revised Classic directive (directive 2014/24/EU of the European Parliament and of the council of 26 February 2014 on public procurement and repealing Directive 2004/18/EC) when it comes to social considerations in public procurement. The second aim is to examine if the revision of the directive has solved the prior existing problems regarding social considerations in public procurement. In this paper a traditional European legal method is used. The examinations show a number of things, including the Revised Classic directive involving codification of case law, references to other sources of law and some clarified rules as well as new provisions. The regulations regarding reserved contracts, technical specifications, and selection criterion are satisfied in the Revised Classic directive.

This Master?s thesis is about the public library development in a rural district, in this case Bergunda, a large rural district in Kronoberg?s County in SmÄland in Sweden, existing 1952 ? 1970. The main question is; how the public library develops in Bergunda large rural district 1951-1970. The main question is divided up in sub-questions: the district uniting in 1952 and 1971; personnel; lending; library housing and the public library structure. In 1952, there is one public library, Bergunda public library, and four study circle libraries.

This Master's thesis discusses the freedom of speech, the right to freedom of opinion and expression, freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas in the context of public libraries in Sweden. The scope of this thesis is to examine the acquisition and maintenance of the literature about the killing of Sweden's Prime Minister Olof Palme 1986. This thesis is a contribution to the discussion on the public library?s institutional identity in late modernity. The aim is to shed light on the public library?s identity as expressed through its public events. The thesis seeks to answer the following questions: What kind of public events are offered at public libraries? What themes distinguish the content of these events? What characterizes the institutional identity expressed through these events? In addition to the concept of institutional identity, a model of four library spaces, developed by Skot-Hansen, Hvenegaard Rasmussen, and Jochumsen, constitutes the theoretical framework of this thesis.

In this thesis the marketing strategies of two public libraries have been explored and studied.The public library of Kalmar participates in the project GÖK which partly is a marketing project. The public library of Kalmar thereby differs from the public library of TrollhĂ€ttan which is not involved in the project.The main aim of this thesis was to focus on their marketing strategies and see if there were any differences. The thesis was also concerned with the customers and their experiences of the quality of the services offered by the public libraries of Kalmar and TrollhĂ€ttan, including the customers' perceptions of the operative marketing, and finally if there was a connection between marketing and customer-centered quality. Qualitative methods as well as quantitative methods were used for the collection of information .The preliminary assumption that Kalmar had a more explicit marketing strategy has been confirmed in the study. However, the customers at the public library of TrollhĂ€ttan were more satisfied with the total quality of the services offered.

There is limited research done in the area of management control in the relationship between companies. This study investigates management control in outsourcing relationships and the decision to change sourcing strategy and to insource functions. The empirical research was conducted at an international company, which in this study has been anonymized. The research is mainly based on interviews. The purpose of this Master?s thesis is to examine and analyze the discourse concerning a new public library in Stockholm. The paper further discusses how this discourse corresponds with what is written about public libraries in a number of national and international documents. To do this I have utilized the discourse theory of Laclau and Mouffe. By using some of their instruments I have established the discourse around a number of keywords.
